It seems to be that way.
I guess it's up to us to roleplay a Morrigan playthrough that makes sense. It requires less thinking if you're an aggressive Warden type. If you're a good guy, then you're "cracking her shell". I don't like this. It reminds me of the time I dated an alcoholic. Or being a needy teenager.. like you're pining after someone, but want them to change.
Things aren't black and white though. You don't have to agree or disagree with her or any character, there's a middle spot. My canon Warden agreed with her on some topic, and disagreed about others. I found the romanc arc interesting, and I enjoyed it immensely (as that particular playthrough, which is my favourite in DA, regardless of the romance with Morrigan).
