fable did and annilated the series and killed the company... Literally
Fable annihilated itself, because it was trash. Guns or bows, it doesn't matter. The result would have been the same.

Fable could have done with taking itself slightly more seriously than it did. Like, there's comedic and dark comedic undertones... and then there's randomly farting on villagers for the lulz. The anonymity of the villagers of the world didn't help it, either. Adding in the marriage mechanic actually made it worse. I can't get emotionally invested in a relationship with villager #84 and trying just made it more obvious how emotionally shallow most of the game world was.
To be fair, I've never played Fable 2, just 1 and 3. (Why they've never released 2 for PC is beyond me.) I actually really liked Fable 3, though, because of its premise and the few named characters we actually get. I especially liked Logan and Walter. Eliot/Elise should have gotten more development beyond their opening scenes if they lived, but they at least had potential.

I remember I had multiple marriages and put them on the same square to make them fight for the lols, it always ended with me using a mace to crush them all... crushing hookers was really fun as well...in fact, all I remember I did on Fable 3 was saving the country just to set up a slaughter myself... after all, I did not have to cheat in order to being immortal

For me, the best part of Fable 2 was the prologue. I thought it did a great job introducing the setting and setting up the conflict with a good mystery. Besides that, I was never actually bothered by the introduction of guns.Fable could have done with taking itself slightly more seriously than it did. The best way I think guns can work in a balanced way would be to do what Pillars of Eternity did and stick them with long reload times.

Just picked up Quantum Break, and it's gotten me thinking about time magic in Dragon Age, and on a broader scale, the innovations that Tevinter mages have come up with in terms of magic. One reason I'm really hoping to see Tevinter in the next game is to see their advancements in magic. I'm really curious to see what new and undiscovered (at least to the South) types of magic are utilized by the Imperium. We have already seen necromancy, something not really practiced in the South, but what else is there?

It reminded me when I discovered this game, the internet in that time was a very interesting place. The first Fable in the case. Whatever the point, the Fable 3 was very bad, I never played the 2, but the third... :/
Sadly Lionhead studios has ended. Perhaps one day someone will re imagine the Fable series, but for now, it's a bittersweet farewell. While I don't agree with everything they have done, the first Fable game has always a nostalgic place in my heart.
Same, time passes.

Necromancy was practiced though. The spirit tree was similar.
It's just the spec that creates the impression it's different.

They might be practising some type of demonology in Tevinter too.
Danarius left a lot of demons behind in his mansions , and Fenris called those "his pets" or something.
They also keep some of their old building from crumbling with magic , so ok it's not combat magic but hey we might see some buildings with strange shape or whatever.
The use of magic for entertainment purpose might also be more wide spread.Mage magician , juggling with fire or whatever...
Doubt the Altus would do that , but it might be appealing to some Laetan.

You mean mortalitasi's necromancy or Yavana's necromancy?

Well, both, to be honest. I was simply speaking of necromancy in general. I don't think Yavana's use versus Mortalitasi magic isn't all that different. If I recall correctly, Mortalitasi simply stigmatize the raising of human souls and only summon simple spirits.

Meh, I don't count the spirit tree as necromancy though. The animate dead spell was just manipulating a corpse or skeleton with magic, not the raising of the dead or calling of dead souls to mortal world, like both the Mortalitasi and Yavana have done.

Same principle though...
My point is I don't really see what necromancy brings to the table that's new. If they didn't cheap their magic schools, it'd probably still be filled under "Spirit".

FFS, I just want to see new kinds of magic, that's all. I had no intention of trying to split hairs over necromancy.

"FFS"? Did you see me doing an N7Phantom impression?
I thought it was normal conversation. If someone can't talk about magic spells in a Tevinter thread, then I don't know what to say.
The type of spirits or strength of the spells didn't change the nature of the idea. And then Necromancer also literally just took Spirit school spells as well....which is part of my point. Like Walking Bomb and Death Siphon. Along with Entropy stuff like Horror. Or Haste of all things. There isn't much new here.

Cryonancy, hydromancy, zither's rock star magic, chronomancy, and I dare say dimensional (rift) magic
If the lore is iffy lets just go back to dnd law. A npc mentions the rules are gone or are less ingrained. Now is the perfect time for new schools or expressions. Hell we either need a full blown hedge mage ,a dreamer, or hopefully abomination

I'm all for that. They're doing this a little more for other classes, it seems.
I didn't want to fight about this though. I'm just making an observation.
