This is as beautiful as it is heartbreaking.
Nicely drawn. Someone should do it for other Thedosian societies.

This, coupled with the thread title, just gives me this image of people standing around in Ferelden/Orlais, chatting about nothing, and then they hear THUD... THUD... THUD... and it just gets louder and they all collectively go "Aw, craaap. Tevinter is coming." And then the next thing you know there's a giant parade of elephants decked out in gold and silk and jewels and all these Tevinter people are on the elephants eating bonbons and wearing all kinds of lace and silk and expensive things, and of course Dorian is in the front going "WE'RE HEEEEEEEERE!!"

Sorry, I had to.
Such a perfect picture. It really demonstrates the different walks of life. Dorian with a book, battle scarred Krem, and Fenris with his chains. This is as beautiful as it is heartbreaking.

Like you said, beautiful but heartbreaking. Tevinter's pride and (arguably) its failure.
It's a pyramid that exists in every society. Even the Qun would have Saarebas at the bottom.
They'd have to handle that very, very carefully. I'm not against it, but it'd need to be handled with care.I kinds wanna have slaves now

You can already do it in DA2, and in DAI, you have enslaved Tranquil in the Inquisition.
Not the same Xil, and you know it. Let's not drag that in here please. You can already do it in DA2, and in DAI, you have enslaved Tranquil in the Inquisition.

What, stealing a Tevinter slave and keeping her in your mansion is somehow inherently different?
For the love of all that's holy, can we not do this in here? What, stealing a Tevinter slave and keeping her in your mansion is somehow inherently different?

I'm now genuinely confused. I already stopped talking about the Tranquil, and since the slave you can get in DA2 was originally from Tevinter, it seems entirely germane to the topic.
.....whoops totally forgot about her. Haven't played Da2 in years.I'm now genuinely confused. I already stopped talking about the Tranquil, and since the slave you can get in DA2 was originally from Tevinter, it seems entirely germane to the topic.
I'm confused. i always pay Oriana so I don't know how it works exactly, but isn't she basically a slave for Hawke? Or am I missing something from the discussion (I know what you want to avoid about Tranquils, but the DA2 example fits the slave situation in Tevinter, from what I know). For the love of all that's holy, can we not do this in here?

I forget. When you choose to extend the offer to Oriana, does it automatically say "I'm gong to pay her, Fenris"? Or is that a secondary dialogue wheel option and you actually can keep her as a slave?
I think the pyramid works better for a nation that actually has a named class system.
The Qun would be more like Iron Bull's "bad" tarot card - nameless, featureless people all lined up in a row, the individual completely subsumed by the demands of society.
In the end, though, everyone's a prisoner. Yay?
That's what the qunari would claim, yes. I don't think the reality matches it.
I forget. When you choose to extend the offer to Oriana, does it automatically say "I'm gong to pay her, Fenris"? Or is that a secondary dialogue wheel option and you actually can keep her as a slave?
No, there's another dialogue option (which I haven't taken) paraphrased as "slaves are useful."
I forget. When you choose to extend the offer to Oriana, does it automatically say "I'm gong to pay her, Fenris"? Or is that a secondary dialogue wheel option and you can make like you are indeed going to keep her as a slave?
Paying her is an option, and you can tell Fenris "I'm offering her a job" You can even tell Orana you'll pay her a second time back home.
But for some reason Leandra just sighs and says "An elven slave. I hope you know what you're doing, dear"

They probably Made a mistake in creating a different dialogue if you pay her and used the other one instead.Paying her is an option, and you can tell Fenris "I'm offering her a job" You can even tell Orana you'll pay her a second time back home.

fallout 3 did and I doubt anyone bitchedThey'd have to handle that very, very carefully. I'm not against it, but it'd need to be handled with care.

or she's stating a fact she is a slave by vint law who was "illegally" freed. Doesn't make it better but that's how it could be interpetedThey probably Made a mistake in creating a different dialogue if you pay her and used the other one instead.
