Dwarf/elf is also possible but incredibly rare. The result would just be a dwarf, like with human/elf pairings. Been a few theories that Sandal is elf-blooded, but who knows?

I am still salty / upset at Bioware dangling Lace Harding as a romance option. She would have been great with a Male Rogue Lavellan. The Dalish Hunter & The Dwarven Scout - Their children would be the best bow users and trackers ever.

I rly hope we don't get another surface dwarf. Need some variety, after Cadash. Tevinter has underground embassies specifically so dwarven ambassadors won't lose their caste by coming to the surface. I'd really like to play a more "traditional" dwarf this time around, albeit one that comes to the surface eventually through the mechanations of the plot (like Brosca/Aeducan, Oghren, Sigrun).

But that would simply make them like Brosca or Aeducan. We have had 2 underground dwarven protagonist and 1 surface dwarf protagonist. That is why I suggested surface dwarf once again although an underground dwarf driven to the surface due to a scandal would be interesting.

Well, there is one of those with Dorian/Bull or Dorian/Adaar...

As far as I recall, none of them is stick to him to be seen by the Magisterium faces.

I still don't understand why she doesn't have a romance tile. I mean, she tells you her first name, invites you out on a date, gives you a gift of entrails, and even Vivienne brings her up in Trespasser... unleeesss they're holding out on us until DA4. One can hope!

2009 was a long time ago! I need my traditional dwarf fix. Maybe they can be warrior caste (or miner, or servant...) instead of casteless/noble. :P

Can you imagine their faces? Fehehehe.

Just hope that it's because they're planning an epic Harding romance in DA4.  Maybe it'll be utter dwarven perfection. ;)

How about a compromise?  Someone like Bartrand who grew up in Orzammar, then got chucked out and has been living on the surface for a while.  Then you can decide through dialogue which your dwarf preferred.

There you go, everybody's happy. :P

There we go, perfect!

I wonder if they're going to go with four voices again (assuming race selection is a thing, which we don't know yet)? Tevinter accents mostly seem to be English... but that could just be a translation convention. And Qunari and dwarves have American accents unless they're Bodahn in which case they're Cockney-ish.

Don't mention Bodahn and his accent, I facepalm everytime I hear it. <_<

I hope so, it's more variety for players.  Seeing how I seem to disagree with everyone else about the DAI accents, having 2 options per sex is very handy.  I assume it'll be humans ---> English again with the Tevinters as US accents have already been established for the dwarves and Qunari.

Unless they're gonna be brave and make them all Russian or something.  Holy hell can you imagine how badly they'd be butchered? (if the Orrrrhhh-leeeees-iiian accents are anything to go by).

Just realized something. If our PC Mage is a Laetan then that means we will be establishing our own noble house! But since we're new, no doubt the older and richer houses will look down on us and try to have our PC either killed to remove competition or arrange a marriage so we end up incorporated into their house. All the mage PC's in the past have been phenomenally powerful mages, and talent like that draws attention, both good and bad.
Looking back on the previous playable human nobles our houses are a bit random. The Couslands, the second most powerful family in Ferelden. The Amells, Kirkwall nobility heavily affected by magic. The Trevelyans of Ostwick, numerous, heavily involved in the Chantry and the seventh most illustrious family in the city. Or is it eighth?
Laetan is the new up and comer who will either sink or swim in Tevinter politics.

Laetans can still be old houses; they just can't track their bloodline to the first Dreamers.

I wonder if and how we could be a Magister. Based on what I've read, you can get your seat through the Circle of Magi, the Imperial Chantry or just being born into the right family. I know that it's unlikely, but it's nice to dream.

Either a magister names you as the heir to the seat or the Archon appoints you.

Edit: I'm doubting we will be able to become clergy, so the Chantry option won't be for us.

There are four ways to become a magister, actually:

1. Archon appointment

2. You are the heir of a previous magister, who decides to give you the seat

3. A magister is chosen from each Circle of Magi, from the ranks of the senior enchanters. First Enchanters are ineligible

4. All Grand Clerics of the Imperial Chantry have a seat. The Divine also holds a seat

Thanks friend! I knew I was missing one or two.

If anything, I would imagine it'd be an endgame sort of thing, like something in an epilogue slide.

In theory, it could happen in game, but you would need an equivalent for those who don't play the mage. It could be a way for you and your companions to "gather power", so to speak. For the mage, you rise in prestige by becoming a magister. For the rogue, you cozy up to Tevinter's underworld. And for the warrior, you maybe become a Tevinter Templar?

I really hope there's an option for Magister and eventually -end game scene like Viscount for DA2- Archon for a Tevinter focused game.

The way I'd do such a game would be dealing with the issues at hand either as magister or as member (eventually leader) of an elite Tevinter non-mage task force -existence of such a force even for a magic-favoring world as Tevinter can be explained with desperate times call for desperate measures, etc-. Of course, each route would have the character treated differently, different side quests/options and just as in DA2 only non-mages could end up being viscount, this time I'd be our time to rule.

Our time.

MWHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

I would definitely not be opposed to  a mage only game -we did single race game, maybe single class could work too- but I doubt bioware would ever do that.

What? Could he? Really? Well, I pretty much loathed DA2 and only played it twice, so I could have missed that.

Hmmm....could a mage-aligned hawke be viscount? Maybe this is where the misunderstanding/lapse of memory occurred.

You have to side with Templars to be the Viscount of any scenario.

Yeah, you're right, that's what I misremembered.

AND WHO WOULD EVER DO THAT?

*raises hand shyly* I sided with the Templars in one of my playthroughs, although my canon is me siding with Mages though

And honestly every player should do all storylines or plots rather stricter 1
