True, but at the same time, they live in a much more dangerous society. They have to fight like hell to make it through the Tevinter system, a level of competition that is absent in the Southern Circles.

In Tevinter, you're at least allowed to fight back against the vicious bastards who can kill you on a whim.

@Drasanil:  I'm afraid I must depart.  This place stinks of southern Circle mages - and I do fear I might catch a terminal case of victimization.

Yes, unfortunately it seems the riffraff has started washing up on the shores of our fair thread. Worry not though, they'll be cleared away soon enough :)

Yes, they have greater resources and better standards of living, but it's still a damn cage, no matter what you call it. A gilded cage maybe, but still a cage. They normally do not have the freedom to leave the Tower, which is the trade off for access to those resources.

That's the problem though. Even that argument doesn't really hold up. Ines got leave to wander around the Ferelden countryside to pick flowers no one even cared about. She got hobby time out of her 'cage' and she didn't even strike me as particularly remarkable. It really makes you wonder how bad the other Circle Mages must be not to get even a bit of slack on their leashes, let alone some modicum of actual freedom.

Not really. Why would you need to fight back, when the magisters already control all of the Templars anyways? Plus, the Northern Order is useless cause they don't have anti-magic capabilities.

I would say they fear their own power because the false Chantry beats it into them that they must obey the makers will and yada yada...honestly the droning of those old crones makes me want to lite them on fire. And that is on a good day. Remember that the Southern Mages have never had the freedoms of Tevinter and though many are still fearful of the "Makers Wrath" There are those that wish to fight against their oppressors. If this is the case I shall help them, if they plan to cower in a new form I will kill them all.

i sense a magister in you Mrs_Stick. You learn how we work quite fast Bravo!!!

Pretty sure slaves aren't allowed to fight back against their mage owners.

In that regard, I think it really depends on the individual Circle in question. Some, like Kirkwall, end up on the very conservative end of the spectrum versus a place like Kinloch Hold, which allows for more of such liberties.

I was referring to other magisters there, not the templars.

Err...they have the rite of tranquility and the right of annulment in Tevinter.

It's just mages who decide to abuse other mages.

And it seems the rite of tranquility is sometimes used under really shady circumstance.

Your charity is commendable sister, and whilst I do not have the patience you demonstrate, I would be willing to support any promising candidates you might salvage should you find yourself overburdened.

Except both Rites are only invoked through the Magisterium and are political tools more than anything else.

I'm not sure what the difference between templars using those things for wrong reasons , or mages .

At the end of the day , there's always someone who has enough power to push the "we are done , here" button.

A man wearing dark black and blood red robes and a golden dragon Oriented staff walks up the Minrathous circle tower followed by 5 large creatures and 3 elves closely behind him to where the the BSN Imperial Senate were having their meeting he walks in My distinguish Magisters i bring news from the Qarinus circle of magi the Me and my apprentices have captured this members of the Ben-Hessrath who were sent from the old Qunari support thread and these knife ears who tried to help them there were more but we slaughtered the lot these cows surrender and so i brought them here to you to deal with and as an enchanter of the Qarinus circle i live to serve for the glory of the Imperium ( he walks over to one of the qunari captivities and slits it throat and use the power of it blood to boil the two besides him)

just to add How i do love the Imperium you guys in this thread are the awesome true tevinter Lovers here even the southern nations know to Fear us and respect us if it wasn't for us the qunari would have subjugated the south long ago and their Fear us because the know not for the qunari we would have turn our might against them ages ago

It's a good thing Rhys preserved that research about reversing the Rite of Tranquility. Then Dorian can revolutionize Tevinter into a moral nation of just mages just as the Maker intended. And then all the corrupt maleficarum in this thread will finally answer for their crimes.
