The Chantry is the church of the predominate religion of the known world; including Tevinter.

Two seperate branches admittedly, but that doesn't change the fact the Chantry isn't going anywhere.

Losing a Divine isn't going to hurt them overly, they have had many in their history. too many people believe in the Chantry and Maker, too many support them, they are the only legal body above the surface to be able to buy Lyrium. Their templars striking down the accord was only a short term measure, once the rebellion is done they will return with the mages.

Once this mage templar BS is done, i'd honestly be surprised if things didn't more or less return to how they were.

The Catholic Church didn't ever crumble, but that doesn't mean that the Protestant Reformation didn't tear away plenty of people from it, and forever alter the landscape of Christendom. Schism has been alluded to before in DA.

totally agree. Didnt gaider say he hated peace in ME3

No idea, problem is writers aren't the masters of the universe video games are collaborative effort.

DA2 is a prime example, i remember reading that Orsino was never meant to go batshit crazy, he was turned in the harvester because it was decided the game needed another boss. I'm sure that would not have amused the writers.

If didn't. Though Da2 was a rushed product.
About peace, I don't know Gaider's opinion on it about The mage-Templar war, but while I'd like to have The option, I understand why it might not happen in DAI. They set the plot in a moment where we don't have much power.

but he wasn't even meant to be a "ok" guy, he was supposed to be one of the main antagonists. he just had so much content that didn't make the cut that he came across as a good guy. perhaps if orsino got all the development his character under went and his shift to being a bad guy perhaps the "screw it, let's make him a harvester" decision would have made some sense.

No idea DG, said in an interview that it's his biggest regret that more of Orsino's character arc didn't end up on screen (paraphrasing) beyond "one of the main antagonists" I haven't seen it elaborated on.

Perhaps one day we'll get a "from the cutting room floor" book which details all the characters info and backgrounds that didn't make the game (well maybe just the stuff that doesn't conflict)

I remember reading that Orsino was not meant to be a boss fight if you sided with the mages. Which I would have prefered, now I still want him to be a blood mage. but I would have prefered if you had more hints like the letter to Quentin throughout the game. This would make things much more interesting IMO.

The big problem IMO is that act 3 was the last act and that it was super short. It didn't allow for more quests to bring the mage-templar conflict aside from the main quest.

TBH I found that the Arishok was a much more interesting villien that got much more characterization and screen time then either of our two big bads. the qunari-chantry conflict I found flowed more better then the mage-templar one. You meet both groups and see them and you do little quests that by act 2 build up to possibly fighting the arishok(fighting him in the duel was one of the more fun boss fights in the game)

Sadly because of the ending the result in quarian/geth had zero effect in it.

It really just depends on what is going to be the slaves role. Elves provide best servants in my opinion, humans, dwarfs (if you are lucky enough to get one) and oxmen are suited as guards/bodyguards/soldiers. If you are lucky then you can get dwarven smith. As for companions, I myself prefer females of all races. *evil grin*

Well a female elf can provide many services and a bard if i need her to be think you Magisters Ukki

I still find slavery a terrible practice. Im sure in all our power we can find new ways to supplement or amend our economy

I would agree with you about slavery it can be a barbaric practice for a country as enlighten as we are but maybe we could do used POW to work our Fields and hire proper servants like the south and place our elves in what the southerners calls alienages were they hoard elves into a small area of major cities we give them freedom but also crushes their spirits at the same time so the balance stays the same its slavery of a different form were you crushes their will and reward them at the same time

we are better at least we don't hide our slavery and give it a different name but maybe one day we can find a different way maybe when we can open up trade to the south again we won't have to use slavery as a way to provide for our country

So I bet there is no choice but to fully stop the mages or fully stop the Templars rather than make peace in DAI. If so:

Spoiler

think of it like this

Pro-magi/templars can finally go all out instead of just RP

Yeah, and those who wanted peace or a compromise get screwed. Great message there.

Dam if you do dam if you don't as they say am pretty sure they would have make a way for even if one side wins the other won't be completely destroyed thanks to the outrage by the moderates

I hope that a compromise choice is possible, just much harder to achieve.
