What if we go to all 3 or at least 2 of them! We are going to both Ferelden and Orlais for Inquisition

Aren't Rivain and Nevarra close to Tevinter?

 

Nevarra? yea, Nevarra is south of Tevinter. However the Slient Plains stand between them as what I can imagine is a giant desert acting as a border. 

Rivain? nope. one has to travel through antivia first to get to Rivain.

It looks like it. You just have to craft the amulet and convince them to join you. I will deff have them on my side.

It's true, during the twitch stream they discussed briefly what you would have to do to recruit them into the inquisition.

They explictly said in the stream that you have an opitional path of making them join the inquistion. You have to go and craft an item that they like and present it to them. At around 22 minutes they start talking about the blades.

Only if you leave them to rot. I'm sure the Mortalitasi know proper ways of embalming and such... or mummification. Either way, bleed it out or dry it out, shouldn't smell so bad.

 

Still, they are an odd order.

You can ally with either the Mages or the Templars, right?

 

That's right, yeah. It's one of the big branching decisions you make very early on in the game's story, and there are exclusive plotlines on either side of that decision, which is really cool - you can spend hours on each of these different sorts of plots, depending on which one you pick. But even cooler than that, not only does it have a rippling impact on the story, but you'll actually see the result of not picking the other one within the world.

 

The differences in enemy factions and perhaps the creatures you encounter in the world will change based on your decision. So there are two sides to the coin, which is neat because then you start thinking about different playthroughs, different styles and the pros and cons of taking those different decisions. And I think for many games in the past, you'd think: "What is the pro of taking this decision?" Whereas now we're actually saying: "Here's the pro... and also here are the consequences of that."

 

Is there a particular part of the world you'd like to explore in a game, beyond Ferelden and Orlais?

 

Who knows what's going to happen after Inquisition. Everyone's so focused on that, and getting that out. Personally, as both a player and as a fan of BioWare games - because I joined the company for the start of Inquisition, so I came in as a fan of the series and the older BioWare games - I remember that even from Origins the Tevinter empire has always held a fascination for me. That's not saying that's what we're ever going to see in a Dragon Age game, but personally I'd love to see something like that.

 

Tevinter does feature in this game, though, doesn't it?

 

Certainly aspects of the Tevinter empire do play a part in this game, and it's a complex society to feature because while they are just like enemies, one of your companions, Dorian, is a Mage from Tevinter.

 

I think players will get a really interesting insight into that whole area through Dorian. So it's not just that "They're the evil people!" - everything has shades of grey in the Dragon Age world, and I think that's another good example of that.

the stories of magister lee... chill the blood of the most depraved mage, his wisdom is seen as erratic but he holds all the pieces. One tale states he's so powerful that he influence the world beyond the fade itself.

One templar fought the great magister only to be turned into an abomination and then turned back to a normal being.

It took 2000 slaves and the lives of 12 magisters to seal him away in a coffin deep underneath tevinter guarded by lyrium for eternity

We can always use apprentices in the grand hall of Arcane Lore, so by all means send your youngest. We're constantly getting new tomes from other parts of Thedas and we need extra hands to sort them and put them in order. I've grown bored of gold, I prefer to be compensated with the finest silks and rarest jewelry.

They said in the twitch stream that If you recruit them, you gain more power then if you fought them. Now if you might use them later on IG or if they could give you an extra-quest or something we don't know yet.
