The only thing we have in common with those other empires is magic powers. Tevinter gets a bad rap because everyone tries to equate their views based solely on a southern propagandist notion.

Tevinter was bros with the dwarves that alone already makes them pretty ace! Despite the fact they blew up Arlathan, which seemed like it would have been a neat place to see. Maker I hope sinking Arlathan didn't create Thedas drow, I forking hate drow.

@Drasanil

You shouldn't have to worry about that. From what little info we know about Arlthan, it is very likely not the great empire of goodness all the elves today might picture it as ;)

I certainly hope it was not a great empire of goody-goodness, I prefer a more nuanced approach myself. But it still seems like it would have been a nice place see, given it was one of the great cities of Thedas.

here is what the wiki says on the great empire of old

Elvhenan had, however, a far more complex--and sometimes troubled--society than may be imagined from the outside. As an empire, Elvhenan relied on a class system, one that often elevated its nobility at the expense of its servant class; little different than the societies and cultures (and even, potentially, Slavery) of any other race on Thedas. Indeed, the lower classes of elves were treated little different by their fellow elves than City elves are treated by human nobility in modern-day Orlais.

It is with a heavy heart that i return with bad news: the Wardens are unwilling to provide answers as to where the Griffion egg's are, but in their final moments many did confirm they in fact confirmed that the Wardens have been in possession of Griffon's time and time again they muttered one name............ well actually, they muttered several, usually the maker or andraste or something about "please no not again"  but amongst it all, usually on the brink of death they whispered Valya.

A lead unfortunately we were ambushed by more grey wardens before i could extract more information. Cut off from supplies i felt it prudent to return before the wardens discovered our identity. sadly on the way back the mundane lad was killed by an Assassin that was lying in wait. we were able to extract a confession out of her in which she confessed the boy was actually a Qunari spy, she'd been ordered to kill him for unexplained Qunari reasons.

She made it quite clear that the boy Never loved Magister Ukki's Daughter and was only was only manipulating her to undermine the Imperium. Naturally after the assassin signed the confession i executed her, she was after all working for the Qunari as well. All my men have signed statements confirming my version of events.

I'm honestly shocked out how this man could fly under so many peoples radars. My own Included, Still I apologise profusely to young the young las I know she must be extremely upset and angry, possibly wanting some sort of revenge, for being made a fool. and so i present her with a wedding gift. and what gift would be befitting the daughter of a magister then a piece of property?

I present her with the deed to young mans family home she can do with it as she wishes.

Now if you'll excuse me i have to purchase some more horses we rode ours near to death staying out of reach of the wardens.

i and magister jaronking are marrying magister ukki's daughters. Im sure jaron would love slaves but i wish for "blood of the races", a book on blood magic. My greatest artifact is almost finished just need a dragons blood

Well Brother you know me so well but i would prefer some more apprentices my last group were killed while fighting the qunari i captured Human or elf is fine but if your still offering slaves to i will gladly accept that gift

Yes, our esteemed FE is going to marry my oldest daughter and step into my family (and relieves me from the danger of that mundane wooing her). Magister Jaronking is in no hurry so he and my middle one are going through a proper courting period before official announcement. Besides, I will pay for the weddings so it will be a occasion of the year, those events need room around them so that they will not hinder each other.

*taps his bulging coin purse*

By the way, I gave her the staff you wanted and she was delightfully surprised. That is a good sign, hopefully she forgets about that boy and understands her duty.

Yes I would rather court her first then just jump straight into marriage plus my our wedding will be grand so would not want too steal the spot light of our FE wedding but magister UKKI if your paying for the wedding i can at least give you something good to drink *signals to his slave*this wine have been stored in my family stellar sense the storm age here in my family estate please enjoy

Alright time for debate. I love the Tevinter Imperium but I've noticed some similarities with other human empires in fantasy genres, especially the Sith Empire and the Imperium of Man.

Tevinter Imperium: Pro Human, Pro Mage, Demonized by the rest of Thedas, Ancient roots, Ruled by an Archon and a Senate of Magisters

The Sith Empire: Pro Human and Pro Sith(species), Pro Force Users, Ancient roots, Hated and feared by the galaxy, Ruled by an Emperor and a Dark Council/Senate

The Imperium of Man: Pro Human, Anti Psyker, Ancient roots, Ruled by an Emperor and the High Lords of Terra/Imperial Senate.

Anyone else notice this? I am not complaining of course it's just I notice the similarities more and more.

I wouldn't compare the glory of Tevinter to that of that decaying Imperium of Man! Tevinter doesn't have a corpse of a god plus the Imperium of Man is so Anti-Psyker as you said which is the complete opposite of Tevinter.

nor is there any evidence that Tevinter is pro human, just because they sank Arlathan doesn't make it some zealot human only state, we know elves can be magisters for instance, that's a damn sight better then how their treated in the south.

Gods were with us indeed. I´m not only relieved of a major humiliation but actual mortal danger. And in hte process my houses position has been strengthened in the Senate. What could be better? *takes a sip of the wine with a smile*

As for the veil tears, do we have any more information on them? Have these things multiplied? Any more close to the Minrathous? In connection to that I received some mixed information about this Elder One. Apparently this thing claims to be a god of some sort. I don´t believe it but if we are dealing with a powerful entity we should prepare and strengthen the magical defences of Minrathous. What ever we decide to do with it I am feeling even stronger that the oxmen threat needs to be contained before dealing with that thing. We should consider taking control of the demons coming through the veil tears and sending them against the oxmen. How many of our apprentices are capable of handling demons?

I say we vanquish whatever comes through, Demons are like any other phenomena they follow the path of least resistance. starting letting them through and more may flood toward us, possibly maker forbid over running us.

I say slay them where they manifest and the demons should gravitate around rifts that are in remote areas (or in areas where the locals arent used to fighting demons) With any luck these tears extend to the Disputed territories and the Cow's will die en mass due to their lack of properly trained Mages,

I am back from my adventures! I had an interesting time in Orlais. I enjoyed exploring the Dales, I uncovered a few interesting relics and I met a most charming woman in Val Royeaux.(There was no hanky panky, I am a married man thank you.) She had a most interesting child. He was a boy, roughly ten or twelve, a Grey Warden pendant around his neck and the strangest eyes I've ever seen in a child. I asked the woman who the boy's father was and she adamantly refused to tell me. I would have pushed it but, she was no ordinary woman. I could sense the magic in her, and her child. I've never felt anything like it when I was in that child's presence. I could have sworn I heard someone singing the most beautiful music I ever heard. Then again it was probably some bard. I was in Orlais. Still, an odd child.

not many the previous FE was adament on restricting the school of demonology. Including myself the minrathous circle has on 12 mages that have that level of study with the school.

Maybe one of the local agents could keep an eye on the woman and boy? These are strange times and we need any opportunity we can get to enhance Imperiums resources. The boy could have some unique talents, or he may not, but it pays to be prepared.

Too bad. *rubs his chin*

I think we should find out who has the potential for the job and focus on their training. Demons running wild in the Imperium is intolerable, even those creatures need to respect our power.

there ar 3apprentices. That have potential

Drebin soris
Human
Age 18: wild and chaotic though he is of low noble birth his experiments on lyrium and blood magic rival my own he would be good enchanter when he is old enough... if his mouth doesnt kill him

Fera Godwin
Elf
Age12:
a quiet thing while only 12 she has knack for finding alternatives to problems. Her only issue is her libitari background and hatetread of blood magic

Saraabas
Qunari(tal-vashoth)
Age: unknown
This one is a odd one as silent as the grave and and as deadly as any necromancer. Has a uncanny ability to "speak" with the dead. While a hedge mage by our definition his arcane deragment is something worthy of respect.

These are my prized pupils. The best of the minrathous circle. And on a related not what day is the wedding gotta clear my schedule *laughs*

Wedding will take place six months from now. City announcers have started to spread the news as we speak. After the wedding seremony and feast you can move into my tower. *pats FE on the back*
