Custom map notes?

I've been looking everywhere and can't find anything to do with map notes.

 

Is there any custom map points or way to customize them?

I currently use them to show where a shop is, but I would also like them to show where a quest is available, but I don't want the same orange/brown icon.

The properties tab allows a certain amount of customization. Including a variety of colours :)

 

There quite a lot you can do with the stock map note.

theres even a script function to turn them on and off

Is there a script function to change their colour? I have been using two wp recently and swapping between them. Tidying this up with scripted colour changes would be good.

I'm not aware of any way to change the color of mappoints via script. I did use color coded map notes extensively in Crimmor.

Not that I know of, but you can create a library of colour coded map note waypoint blueprints and create/destroy them in your chosen locations as needed.  The only thing to beware of is that they won't appear if you're in the same area until you reload or go through an area transition.

I changed the appearance to blue in the properties and it comes out blue on the mini map/map.

 

Is that the only thing you can change?

Because of this, I only saw the option to change it's colour o.o

no, its always the little gold-ish diamond-ish shape

 

i think you can edit the relevant xml to change the appearance of a map note

 

which one that is i have no idea

I think the icon will not be defined in the XML.

 

However, it should be possible to override the default icon. You just need to find what it is called, and make a replacement.

Now if only it was possible to have different markers for different things, that would be pretty awesome.
