I messaged Dragon Age on Facebook with the following question:

"Will the PC version get console commands again? Specifically a command to change the appearance to a non-human entity?"

To which they responded:

"Hey, Jared! Your timing is about perfect. We'll be releasing more information about the PC version of the game very soon!"

Is it just me or does this sound promising?

Sweet.  Console commands would make the disappointing hair selection a lot easier to swallow.

Edit: Wait, no it wouldn't.  I'm still platinum mad.

Console commands are for testing the game. Not to enable you to go about changing your look.

Says who?  Tons of people have used console commands for recreation in various games for more than the last decade.  In case you hadn't a clue, they gave us the ability to morph our appearance in the last 2 DA games.

well. Thats the impression I have, especially as for Origins you need to add -enabledeveloperconsole into the file.

That's fine if that's what you choose to do with it, but Bioware didn't add the console to the retail copy just for [...] and giggles.  They knew A.) People would enjoy using it to add countless hours of replay-ability to their game and B.) It may sometimes be necessary if bugs arise.

I just want it so i can boost crafting skills to useful levels without the boring waste of game time to do it and to get the mats needed to craft for the same reason...as well as adding items to invetory because i like my character to start with the look i want as far as armor/weapons/etc.....

I thought it was more of a case of not removing it from the final build. As it was baked into the game.

I'm pretty sure it was included because of the toolset.

No not really even Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 had a console with no tool set.....All Bio games on the PC have had consoles.
