Elf:
Male - Heretico
Female - Heretica
Naw, those are clearly Qunari names. Elves should be:
Male - Dobby
Female - Winky
Much more appropriate given their species' long history of service to man.

Lol. Good call, edited Winky in ![]()
How dare you besmirch the good name of House Trevelyan!
Don't get your knickers in a twist. Nobody said nothing about the house Trevelyan, well except the fact that they don't know how to name their kids.
I wonder how many people will choose Alec Trevelyan.
Of course naming the protagonist after a Sean Bean character is like daring the Grim Reaper to strike him down.
Well some people named their Hawke- Ethan Hawke lol
Also Martin Odum is still alive ![]()

If our Mage Trevelyan's can get some of the epic one liners he had in Goldeneye to throw at the Templars, I'd risk it!
"Back from the dead. No longer just an anonymous robe etched on the memorial wall of the Ostwick Circle. What's the matter, Knight-Commander? No glib remark? No pithy comeback?"

I wonder why Bioware wont just tell us the default names its not like it would ruin the game come on already Bioware.
''Wynne''.

Better than Garrett.
I think Garrett works well for their default Hawke.
It also means "rules by spear". Not sure if intentional, but that's good for a mage.

Fun fact, as a bunch of heretics out in the forest the inquisitor's daddy was a hipster and thought it would be ironic to use that as his childs name sake
He was also the only elf with a fabulous mustache

Why on earth would default names even begin to matter...
Why on earth would default names even begin to matter...
It might not matter to you, but it matters to some of us. I never understand why people get so baffled that others are interested in something they personally could care less about. Is it really that hard to imagine that people have different priorities?
As to the topic, I want to know the default names. Names help me get invested and excited about playing a character . But I'm not good at making up names and I find it a frustrating exercise in any game with a custom character. So I'd like to know them so I can decide if I want to keep it or change it.

Of course everyone has different priorities, it's simply hard to see why a default name that can be customized and is never even going to be acknowledged by the game is important at all. Also, it's not like the names will say anything about the character since the character buildup is gonna be up to you. Unless you're creatively bankrupt...
But whatevez, maybe they'll be revealed soon enough for those who care.

But I'm creatively bankrupt lol, just like I mentioned. If there's one major flaw that I wish I didn't have, it is that.
If Maxwell is the default name for the male Trevelyan character, I'm definitely changing that.
Maxwell sounds more like the name of a character in a daytime soap opera than a quasi-medieval noble.
I don't know, DA often has enough drama to rival a soap. I'm still looking forward to the episode where Alistair screams "You're not my real mum!" at Fiona.
All the people on soaps over here are called things like 'Steve' and 'Ryan', as far as I remember. Maybe 'Mercedes'. Maxwell would be much more interesting!
Maelyn Trevelyan says: If my brother is named Maxwell, I'll have to revise the good opinion I have of my parents.
I doubt it though. "Maxwell" doesn't connect with "Trevelyan". Just say it. It has no rhythm. If I may go out on a limb: the name will have two syllables and end either on a vowel or an "n", "m" or "r".
As someone who does change names to suit characters, and also uses the default...yes it does make a difference. If my mother had her way I'd have been called Marigold...so yes, names can make you think differently about a character.
I will be highly amused if female Trevelyan is Joan/Jeanne.
Think about it...Joan D'Arc led an army, was betrayed by those she trusted, then was burned at the stake...now replace Joan D'Arc with 'Andraste'...
Erm That's a nice name ![]()
Maxwell is actually a name I do use in games. So is Kaidan... So I think Bioware's been secretly stealing from me for years... ![]()

Decided to do that when the surnames were first unveiled my friend ![]()
He will look like Sean Bean too, (well, vaguely). Because everyones needs the sharpequisition!
