True but it's not even just the launch. 2K's servers are ass. I've had way too many problems with 2K13 alone to think their approach to microtransactions and whatever else VC is supposed to add/solve is feasible. The game still looks dope as hell but to center the majority of the game, and even the more solo aspect of MyCAREER around that online currency is retarded. If you have to let 7 foot PGs roam around when people play online against each other to take that away I think people would live with it again at this point.

That's the reason everything is stored online?
Lol they can't build in game ways to prevent that? ![]()
Boris Diaw is 6'8" btw and played PG in Europe. But I doubt that counts for the cool NBA ![]()
I suppose my own 6'7" PG with increased wingspan would be seen as quite annnoying as well. (about the increased wingspan: I stood in front of the mirror and replicated my exact body features... except I'm only 6'0" and not 6'7"
, but the ratio of wingspan is the same)

People don't like tall PGs because PGs over 6'4'' are extremely rare. Even 6'4'' PGs are rare. The only starting PG in the NBA that's over 6'4'' is Michael Carter-Williams. The only other 6'4''+ PGs I can think of the top of my head--that are currently in the NBA--are Greivis Vasquez and Shaun Livingston. That's why I laugh when I see 40 Penny Hardaway clones running around. Guys like Penny and Magic are rare breeds.

This might be a really stupid question, but isn't that because there might be a bit too much focus on heigth? I'm an outsider here, not from the US and don't follow the NBA thatclosely, but I've always had the feeling that what position someone plays in is almost solely based on heigth, skill only comes into play when determining if a player is good enough for the NBA.
Diaw being a good example of this. 6'8" PG in Europe, SF in the NBA.

immersion breaker: my Dutch PG singing the US national anthem
I also can't really find a formation I want to play. I'm with the Pistons, and I've been trying some stuff out and the swing formation feels the best for my player... but that pretty much dimishes Drummond to solely setting up screens on point in offense, and that's a waste of talent.
Now if I had a center with a great 3 point shot... or long distance 2 pointer. Do those even exist? ![]()

Hawes is retired. Bargnani could be an option. European player too, which I kinda dig.
What's the Americans' take on European players anyway? Is there a (big) difference in playing styles between the continents? I've read some comments, mostly from Americans, that they feel that the European players have better fundamentals and skill, and Americans are more athletic. It was in a topic about the 70s-80s-90s having better basketbal though, which I heavily disagree with, so I'm not sure how serious to take that.
Just played a horrible game btw, 6 turnovers. We did beat the Golden State Warriors though, them being in the lead and we, the Pistons, being second to last.

I might be persuaded to get a NBA game. So which game is better? NBA 2K15 or 2K14?
in..
- Gameplay: more balanced and fair defense and offense, better movements, not everyone Michael Jordan (or Messi in FIFA!)
- Career: better management, youth academy and buy/sell players mechanism

NBA2K15 is better. Defense on 2K14 was kinda funny, you could position yourself a little off to anticipate a pass and get like 10 steals a game. Do that now and you give the opponent an easy lay up. Speaking of lay ups: they aren't automatic scores anymore.
2K15 just seems more realistic to me.
Having said that: I absolutely stink on defense. I've got a couple of blocks but those were more of the desperate 'oh my god I lost my man!!' kindof blocks from behind, then being a good lockout defender
. This isn;t really new though, I kinda stunk on 2K14 as well. Which is why I always bought the Escape Artist signature skill so I could get easy blocks from behind and a speed bonus ![]()
Just started the second season btw, after just missing the playoffs in the first. Drummond did his best to get me to sign again for the Pistons, but it wasn't necessary. My intentions were to stay with the Pistons anyway, until at least the first ring. (Lakers also wanted me
).

The Pistons are sooo much better in thsi 2nd season. They traded in Tyson Chandler (or got him on free agency, I dunno, the game's not that clear about that). Getting Doc Rivers as head coach also changed up a lot of things, a lot of plays have changed, including those on my own player. And they are much better imo.
Wish I could pick all the plays though... for all players, to suit everything to my liking.

Is Drummond still on your team? The trade logic in MyCAREER was always crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs traded away LeBron James for draft picks in some peoples' MyCAREER.

Yes, yes he is. And he looks a lot better than the first season.
To be honest, I have no idea if they even traded anyone out... I'm not missing anyone so far.
Drummond and Monroe (my PF) finished in the top 5 rebounders in the first season. Glorious glasseaters on my team, loving it
In other news: I've yet to make my first contact dunk, whicbh shouldn't be that surprising considering I'm a PG. But I can safely say that, just as in NBA2K14, that creating an athetic 'something' is a sure way to create a beast of an offensive player. The speed makes it so hard to defend against a good pick.. and it results in a dunk like 50% of the time if you play your cards right.

I just encountered my first illogical transaction. I decided to sim though half of year two and all of year three to get to my next contract. I've managed to get my PG up to an 88 overall, so I figured it was time to get paaaaiiiiiiid. I chose to sign with the Lakers to bring Showtime back to Los Angeles, and who do I see wearing the purple and gold? Dwight Howard. I'm not complaining about having a stacked front line consisting of Dwight, Julius Randle and an 86 overall C named "Lefteris Diamontopolous," but I highly doubt Dwight Howard will ever play for the Lakers again.
I like that Monstars front line, but the Lakers' wings are god-awful. The only guys left are Nick Young and Wesley Johnson after Kobe retired, and they're wildly inconsistent. I'm hoping we trade one of those big men for a nice SG/SF. Someone like Klay Thompson or Bradley Beal. I wish that feature on 360/PS3 where you can give the GM three players you'd like for him to trade for was in the X1/PS4/PC version.

And this.
I'd tell that GM of mine to focus on a quick release 3 point shooter SG. I'm the king of pick and roll but when the guard that's getting open keeps missing wide open 3s I get a little sad inside.

Soft.
Of course there's exceptions like Shrempf, Marciulionis...but for the most part.
