Any tips on dealing with armored enemies as a newcomer?

I'm thinking of just using adepts in the beginning. BE's seem to be the way to go.

Using combo spamming kits works, or sticking to slower firing but higher damage per shot weapons.
Or use a kit with an armour weakening power such as Cryo Blast.

While not entirely correct on everything, this character builder will help you to figure out what weapons suffer from damage mitigation by armor less. Other than that, abilities like warp, incinerate (deals an ok damage and sets up fire explosions even though it doesn't reduce effectiveness of armor against your weapons), cryo blast and the like will work. Hurricane works well enough once you bypass that damage reduction btw.

If you don't have the quarian, use the human infiltrator with a similar tactic of cryo blast and stickies, which has the added bonus of cryo blasts armour debuff.
EDIT: 12,000+ posts newcomer? Keelah, it appears i've been bamboozled.

Take your Warlord with Biotic Hammer and crush the armored enemies.
But stay away from sync killers.
Maybe stick to bronze for a couple more games, unless your playing with friends who are willing to carry you.
And on a real serious note: what all the other guys above said. (except the quarian, who didn't check your manifest
)

Welcome to ps3, TIM Jr.
I'd recommend the vanilla human adept for players with weak manifests or no AP equipment. Warp debuffs and weakens armour well, plus the kit is great and a lot of it's damage comes from biotic explosions anyway.

Human Engineer and Asari Adept did well for me. Well, Human Engineer didn't really because it was in the old days, but now with combos it's gud. I recommend a full CC build, fitnessless, so you only shoot occasionally between CDs. You know the drill.

Turian Sentinel. Warp for armor + Turian Passives + Overload for shields and you've got it all. He is an uncommon so obtainable from veteran packs so if you do not have him yet, he's very easy to get.

TBH if I took a year out from the game and restarted with a new account/manifest, I'd probably not remember what the hell to do with a brand new setup ![]()

I love my T-Sent and still main him every day.
I re-tweaked his spec for MONTHS before I finally settled on 6/6/4/6/4
Overload 4th evo set to power damage. Turian veteran 4th evolution to power damage, warp 4th evo to power damage, 5th and 6th evo to expose and pierce. Tech armor and fitness set to max damage reduction.
I keep the 6th evo of Turian veteran for weapon damage while the 4th evo is for weight reduction.
200 cooldowns with Phaeston plus a Geth SMG with a light material mod.
This is a VERY noob friendly build and loadout. Easy to use and high survivability. Simply use the Avenger if you haven't unlocked the Phaeston yet.
