Qunari were a race DA2 got right on the sovereign. That's one aspect that would have translated over quite well.. still, in the new CC they look awesome albeit a touch too human.
So... any images of MALE Qunari Inquisitors?

The paler Qunari looks a little bit weird though, I didn't think that would have been a possible skin colour option for some reason!

Yup.
Aaaargh, this one's been bugging me for hours. He reminds me of some actor, I just can't put a name with the face...

He looks so human! I don't like it.
Would be really great if we had the opportunity to choose darker sclera for our qunari Inquisitors, but nope. I guess changing inner iris colours was more important.

what happend to qunari hair like this
THESE ARE THE QUNARI THEY HAVE BEEN SHOWING TO US OVER THE YEARS WITH THE COOL HORNS AND COOL HAIR. WHY DID THEY CHANGE THAT????!!!!?
I think it has a lot to do with technical limitations. The hair is the only complaint I have about the CC but it's a very small complaint. Everything else about it is amazing and blows away DAO/DA2. I think that's all we could ask from Bioware for now. Got to get the game out the door at some point. Maybe DA4 will have better hair options or maybe they'll develop some really cool hair DLC. I wouldn't be opposed to buying better hair in a DLC package. I could see Bioware avoiding that though because I'd imagine the negative overreaction backlash would be big.
"You cut the cool hair options out just to sell it to us as DLC!!! Pitchforks at Bioware's Edmonton office!!!"

I really don't get the Qunari hair. Correct me if I'm wrong... but do they even get helmets? If not... then really, clipping is even less of an issue for them I'd think.
They got it right in DA2, but they don't look as good in DAI.

somehow the Qunari look worse than those in DA2
its a shame I was looking forward to playing as one but I'm no fan of their current apperance too human-like for my taste

Don't you all remember how incredibly lame Sten looked in DAO? Like a fat guy with gray skin. This is a big step up, especially considering you can modify his appearance to look as you wish. One picture of a youthful looking male qunari hardly seems to define the race.

Actually he had bronze skin and he wasn't fat.

Looks fat and gray to me. Regardless, my point is that he looks like crap, as the game in general did, and that we are getting a modern revamping of something lame.

No offense but you may be colorblind as well as not being up to date with the standard for "fat"

Yeah it's amazing considering the first game.. Once people's expectations meet reality, it's possible the new Qunari will grow in favor.
Inquisitor Arishok DA2 may not be available but we will have a great deal of choice considering Qunari were not even going to be in this game so that's quite commendable.

For DAI, the Qunari are a playable race, and so the models (for the protagonist at least) needed to be designed to be more flexible and allow for more variation and customisation. Possibly the simplest way of doing this was to make them more similar to humans/elves/dwarves, who already have customisable facial features.
So basically, even something as simple as going "we need to be able to let the player make the qunari's lips bigger" resulted in Bioware having to completely remake the qunari models to allow for such customisation.

I think you can probably make a Qunari that looks more or less like how the DA2 Qunari looked. The CC does allot for a lot of verity.

Actually we can't do it 100% because we lack the option to change their sclera colour. That was what made them (and the Arishok) so alien and foreboding.
I guess they wanted to make the Qunari more relatable to players this time (hence why Bioware gave them normal human eyes, same as what the Planet of the Apes VFX artists did to Caesar) but they could have at least left that option in.

For people who preferred DA2's Qunari design - yes, they looked great in that game, but they all looked very similar or, in most cases, identical.

Pretty sure that's DA2 concept art. Designs change from game to game.
