Hello,

So, I know many people will just run down to the local EB Games or JB Hifi to buy the game, but i really get cheesed by our pricing here. ESPECIALLY the origin store pricing, where you visit the website and just instantly pay the "Australia Tax" way above the conversion rate to buy online, (because EB Games has EA by the balls and wont give them proper shelf spacing if they dare get undercut).

Obviously I want to play on PC rather than PS4 for modding capability and the (hopeful), high resolution texture packs whether they are made by Bioware or the community. And buying on PC opens the issue of just downloading it to avoid paying $5-15 dollars on shopping.

Currently, its priced at $79.99 AUD on Origin and JB Hifi. I wanna pay as close to $60 USD ($66 AUD) as possible, then just download it. Its also convenient to be able to preload the game and have it ready to play on day 1.

As a side note, i gotta say, JB Hifi has been doing a good job forcing EB's hand at lowering prices, While EB Games lists it at $100 AUD, JB lists it at $79 AUD for XBone and PS4. Well done JB. So whatever you do, if you are going to pay the extra $15 for a boxed copy, dont support EB Games, go show JB you appreciate their efforts and buy there.

However, as forementioned I'm a tight ass and I dont see why i should pay anything more than what our American counterparts pay for a digital download, its exactly the same thing!

So, this brings up the next point, which i probably need a moderator to answer. Does the Origin client have any GEO locking yet. I mean, there are a bunch of ways you can just buy from a range of places online, but is there going to be a problem when you try and redeem on you Australian Origin Account.

I bought ME3 packaged, but i did manage to buy SWTOR (the CE) and dropshipped it, and it redeemed to my account fine without any geolocking, but that was 2 years ago.

Anyway, would appreciate any answers and I'm looking forward to the release.

Try GMG?

Here is a discussion ongoing from reddit.

We've ascertained that ozgameshop is certainly the cheapest. You can get it in:

Boxed Copy: $59

Boxed Copy + Digital Code: $61

Digital Code Only: $53

Where digital code means you get an email whenever the retailer gets the code from EA, containing the code to redeem on Origin. For people who also want the DAI shelf item, getting the Boxed Copy + Digital code is a nice score, and the shipping from OZgameshop for Aussies is really cheap. You get the benefit of a code while also getting the swag in the mail.

So digital code only coming in very cheap. The only issue is now whether EA/Bioware will email the codes on the day of release or give them out early and let us pre-load like they do on Origin.

-----------------------

So, the question of this thread is no longer where is the cheapest for aussies, its now what will the preload be like? And also, is it worth paying an extra $10-20 dollars for a 1 day benefit of the not having to download the game on its release date (I'm probably just gunna use OZ as I dont mind waiting an extra day).
