I am happy we even get to play as qunari. I am looking forward to see how the face paints work and whether we are able to craft any.

We could play as Sten in DAO so i don’t see much difference.
..
He was a special case as he is a hornless qunari.

Hardly.
I'm not saying 'ohhhh why aren't the graphics like this' or 'awwwwwwwwwwww i wanted to romance vivi ;-;' or 'straight males deserve more love interests'. I'm not complaining about anything in-game at all, the replacement for the headgear sounds fascinating.
I'm simply wondering if anyone else felt the same about that comment. I didn't freak out, as I said I 'raised an eyebrow' which I don't view as an over-the-top reaction.
Then don't try to come off as 'clever'
It just felt a bit disingenuous to me. Like trying to twist a limitation into a Fantastic Fresh Feature For our Fabulous Fanbase™!
It feels like you're attacking BioWare for nonsense.
Next time smile.
I'll even let you use my trademark 'xD'

I think they made a good call with the Qunari head gear, because...horned qunari with a helmet would look ridiculous!
And the Qun already have their red body paint thing going on, so it is perfectly appropriate.
Finding conspiracy in everything is also a bit silly.

What on earth...
Me voicing my opinion is automatically 'trying to come off as clever'? Just...how?
Again, I'm not going to feel good about something purely because some internet person tells me I should, especially one who has been rude in their phrasing. I do smile, and as I say above, I love basically everything the game itself has to offer so far.
I'm not 'attacking' Bioware for anything; I have a huge amount of respect for the work they do, and their incorporation of feedback from the fans about DA2 has been really awesome to see, although then again I did actually really like DA2 as it was. But I understand lots of people didn't.
I just felt this one specific comment was a little off. I shouldn't be scared to voice that, nor is it terrible that I have.

"Attacking BioWare." He is making a criticism. A valid one. I think you need to take your fanboy cap off and not get hurt everytime someone notices something you like isn't always perfect.
Everyone agrees the paint is a good idea, but the wording used in the livestream was somewhat dishonest, be it intentional or not. I'm sure Mike doesn't see it that way, but the OP isn't wrong for making an observation.

it's not really conspiracy, I'm just wondering why he said what he did on one occasion.
I'm not pretending bioware is some moustache twirling villain who loves to hate its fans and make them suffer.

I don't think facepaint is for qunari's since it's something new and amazing, it's just about difficulties to make headgear work with horns. Personally I'd have preferred horn ornaments. I might not even use the face-paint if it's now similar as qunaris had in DA2 since I didn't like what fem!qunari had in the trailer.

The defensiveness of some people on this forum is almost as bad as the people who hate on anything.
It feels that, after the ME3 and DA2 fan eruptions, on this forum if you say one bad word about one way in which bioware has acted that makes you 'trying to be clever' and 'complaining for the sake of complaining'.

OK fair enough.
But then you should also consider that we have NEVER seen a Qunari (apart from Sten in Origins) with a helmet.
It is also noteworthy to remember that the Qunari concept only really took shape in DA2 and not a single Qunari or Tal-Vashoth were seen wearing helmets.
I really do not think Bioware decided not to give Qunari helmets because it is challenging with the horns. They most likely decided to go with the war paint because it suits the race.

How about you don't tell people what they can and can't criticize?
Anyway, companies often spin negatives into positives. It's a pretty common practice, that yes, should go away. At the end of the day though the Qunari paint is a good idea and a good replacement for helms.
yes well. if you expect to be taken seriously then your criticism should be something you can validate with good reason, and quite frankly this, along with much of the other nonsense falls into whiny nitpicking territory. We all know the main reason is because of the horns, and obsessing over something they said in the stream to gloss it over is silly at best. If you start a discussion on a forum asking for other peoples' opinions then you might want to expect that people are going to disagree with you. Both you and the op should learn that.

Yeah...
I'm not entering a pissing contest when it's obvious the OP really can't write a solid argument for his critique. It's comes across as an ad hominen, where he/she attacks for no good reason other than attacking to support an unfounded conclusion.
Gamers need to take into consideration that video games cost millions of dollars and sometimes things just have to be cut out.
For what we've got from BioWare these last two games, this is hardly anything to mope about.
If BioWare are trying to make it sound like a 'lil twist, accept it as marketing. I'm sure even those within BioWare face palmed at "awesome button" a few years ago.

You dont see the difference between making a main character modeled the way you want him/her to be (both in physical apparence and personality), making them the center of the story vs being forced to play use single character only in combat that you could add nothing to in terms of character traits nor aesthetics(besides armor)?
What?How?

Attacking doesn't necessarily need to be aggressive.
Fanboy?

Lol you're crazy. No one said people can't disagree, that guy was telling him not to voice his opinion AT ALL.
Misinterpretation.
Quit yer yappin' is synonymous to "stop whining." In this case, creating an entire thread to voice your displeasure over something so pointless, it's almost as if smudboy came back to life to haunt the BSN again.
Ah I miss this part of the forums. It's always nice to come up here and get into some brawl once in a while.

In general the recent livestream was very good, but when Mike said this I arched my eyebrow.
We KNOW the reason they have a different head slot is due to the fact that managing headgear with horns is very tricky. Why try to pass off an issue they ran into as doing something extra for their fans?
It just felt a bit disingenuous to me. Like trying to twist a limitation into a Fantastic Fresh Feature For our Fabulous Fanbase™!
