The contradiction here is that it is within the rights for 'freedom of speech' to criticise a criticism.

Why am I here anyway?

I've got Berserk to read.

Just look how manly this **** is.

Critisizing the crtisizing is not against the freedom of speech
Telling them to shut up or implying so is

wut...o_O PRE-ORDER CANCELLED. Tis freedom of speech, and critisize all you like people, but chasing around that comment Mike made and shaking it til its dead is kinda...i dunno? Sad. Just my opinion but i dont really think thats how he meant it. And even if it was "sneaky" who cares? We can play as Qunari. So. Yeah. And they DID do something extra for the fans, ya know, Qunari playable race n'stuff.....

I'll borrow a line from Wrex.

Don't ****** in my ear and tell me it's raining.

Or rather.

Don't put words in my mouth.

Quit your yappin' was a light-hearted way of saying "chill the **** out."

Please stop being Batman. Only Batman can be Batman and you ain't Batman.

You like anime, so you're cool.

I never treated this thread seriously in the first place. But people go on Phalanx mode the moment somebody criticises the critique. And then we're back in a circle of never-ending bitching.

Hell, we're arguing over FREEDOM OF ****** SPEECH.

What the ****** HELL are we even DOING now?

I need to laugh.

Else I'll cry.

God forbid anyone critisize or questions anything Bioware does. Jerks telling people to shut up... So much for freedom of speech
OP, good observation, pointless but good observation

Freedom of speech has got nothing to do with a privately owned forums. It only applies to being able to voice our opinions versus the government.

And if it were to be freedom of speech the OP would have the right to complain about Bioware and others would have the right to complain or come to the defense of Bioware. Freedom to express oneself doesn't only apply to people like the OP.

The problem I have with the topic is that the OP represents the people who think developers should weigh every word before they say anything or people will take it out of context for nitpick sake.

Boy, what a fun thread!

I don't think there was any actual intent to deceive in what he said. From another perspective: they could have spent the resources making helmets, leading to other things being scrapped (like less horn variation, for instance); they could have just not given qunari helmets at all; they chose a happy medium because they wanted qunari Inquisitors to have something cool to show off instead, and it is something that sets them apart from everyone else, especially as a brand new PC. At worst he was just trying to express enthusiasm about the vitar (sitar...keytar...whatev-ar) to mitigate potential disappointment over the missing helmets. And then hell broke loose over the hair while he was looking elsewhere.

A little PR-y, maybe. Actually disingenuous though, I personally didn't read it that way.

I don't see why they couldn't model a few special Qunari only helmets that took their horns into account. Seems like that would have been the best solution.

Naw bruh.

I've already pointed out the hypocrisy here.

But when people start using 'opinions' in an argument things fall flat on their arse.

This is why I stay in the off topic.

I just come here to peek once in a while.

When DA:I's plot comes up, I'll be than willing to discuss anything with you guys and gals maturely. We can gush about themes, or point out holes.

But for some nitpick?

Naw, hell naaw.

Money, time, design etc...

I wouldn't be surprised that they had concept art but didn't have the time to do it.

God knows how developing works xD

Even if OP were nitpicking, I don't remember any rules against it. All he did was ask a question. He wasn't putting Laidlaw on trial, nor was he claiming some grand conspiracy. He was just wondering why the helmets being a developmental hurdle was just swept under the rug. Sure it's relatively unimportant and could be chaulked up to exhuberant enthusiasm about the facepaint, but OP has every right to make a thread about it just like you have every right to say it's nitpicking.

But, you don't have a right to tell him his opinion isn't worth expressing.

A new race that's playable. Sten can't really count because he's basically a scaled up human being a hornless Qunari.

They were playable during DAO's development. They were cut.

Sure there ain't. And there ain't no rules telling me I can't say that and this too and there ain't no rules telling you not to tell me this and that or that and this.

We're allowed to voice opinions. And that covers a broad range of topics. Nitpicks, criticism, love letters and fangasms. Using 'rules' as a way to debunk me/disprove me/ make love to me or whatever the hell you're trying to do is kind of weak. It sounds kind of like this

I liked you better when you were actually attempting to trap me.

ok how many of us have gone into the hair thread and criticised the people who were upset over the lack of hair options for the qunari? because their critcism makes sense, they are going to spend a lot of hours playing that char. Their complaints are valid because they are related to things that actually have an impact . Analysing and tearing apart something trivial  that Mike said within a span of 30 secs in a video that lasted for 70 mins is ridiculous and has absolutely no purpose whatsoever, especially when the op himself prefaces the topic with admitting that it is trivial. Plus there was so much awesomness in that stream, it boggles the mind as to why so many people are nitpicking at the small wrongs in a video, with an overwhelmingly large amount of rights. Everything has flaws, and if we all made a mountain out of a mole hole, soon there would only be mountains

I wasn't until you started putting words in my mouth and used the 'opinion' card. How in godoka's name can I say anything when "but it's an opinioooooon" comes up?

Sure it's an opinion. Opinions are meant to be open for discussion/debate/critique.

Once you put yours out there, don't get mad/defensive if it doesn't go your way.

As for me, I've been laughing this whole time.

Because they would have to make every helmet in the game work with the Qunari head, it's not worth the effort to make the helmets fit a single hairstyle.

It's a 3D model without bones for animating. You can rescale it at will for a bigger head.

Seriously?

We KNOW the reason they have a different head slot is due to the fact that managing headgear with horns is very tricky. Why try to pass off an issue they ran into as doing something extra for their fans?

This isn't the first time they do something like this.

They reduced the number of abilities per combat to 8 so console users don't have to pause to access all abilities. In short, they dumbed down the combat. The official explanation is that you're limited to 8 abilities so you have to carefully plan your attacks.

Most dialog wheels in Mass Effect 3 had only two options: paragon and renegade, with barely any investigate options and about three neutral options in the entire game (which were incorrectly mapped on the left side of the dialog wheel). They probably didn't have the time or resources to write enough dialog, but the official explanation was that there are no neutral options when faced with the Reaper threat.
