Actually, I kill quite a lot of Phantoms with Tech Armour (Krentinel) on host ...

 

1: charge Graal

2: run at Phantom

3: fire Graal (it'll stagger her if you don't kill her outright)

3.1: if the Phantom is still alive (i.e. missed the headshot) heavy melee

3.2: if the Phantom is still alive (not yet in Rage mode) detonate Tech Armour

 

 

Pretty much the same tactic works on Ravagers too - but it's normally an idea to throw a Lift nade at them first so you don't end up targeting a Swarmer with the melee... detonating Tech Armour at the end kills the swarmers dropped and you can generally come away with 50% or less shield loss.

The linked thread discusses it.  The ammo damage from Phasics is not applied if you shoot the Phantom's bubble.  The weapon damage is.  Since the weapon damage does direct health damage, there are several infiltrator setups that can one-shot them through the bubble nearly regardless of ammo choice with the Javelin, at least with a double hit.  GI does enough damage potentially that you don't even need a double hit with the Javelin on Gold.

I'm pretty sure you can. The vid in the thread you linked, of a GI one shotting a phantom by shooting her bubble, should not be doing any barrier damage. Still, hard to say for sure as there's no indication of that ingame, of course.

Although my favorite is AH Cloak+Dark channel and leave..... she squeak a bit but eventually dies... 

 

AH's Dark channel kills her with added satisfaction of her quivering with pain for a long time. 

So does Collector adepts DC and DS. My 2 fav phantom killer kits.

You can see it in game - make her bubble up, shoot her, she'll flip and go invisible, make her bubble up again, shoot her, she will not flip on the second time and it should be easy to see that the barrier squares get darker which means that there is no health behind those squares.

I have no shame in saying that if I run into a pack of phantoms,they stand a really good chance of being nuked.I've been skewered more times than I'd like to admit by those skinny biotches.

She has DR with the bubble because she is in evade.  When you hit the bubble with weapon fire it does direct health damage.  Appropriate ammo except for Phasic will do damage to her barrier.  Phasic does zero damage to her when she is bubbled for some reason.

 

You need 2m to double hit her with a headshot.

 

You can tell that shieldgate isn't making a difference there because you can see the shot damage her health and potentially leave barrier at the same time.

That means Drill 3 on most guns is needed. Wow

Does the on-host BS applies only when bubbled? My impression is that it works always.

 

Anyways, since switching mostly to hosting I've learned to deal with the phantoms (without the lolcolyte). Basically, I trigger their standing still animation(bubble) when using weapon-based kits and evade flipping animation when using power-based kits. And then I curse my teammates, cause they always, always screw up my tactics.

 

Oh, and I like getting style points for harpooning the little b!tch off the map.
