You can't just use total time played divided by games played and get a very meaningful number.

 

You don't know how much time has been spent in particular difficulties.

 

You don't know the typical group makeup of each game (frequent PUGging or soloing will increase average time, always playing with friends probably decreases it).

 

You don't know how many of those games were spent just stuffing around for one wave to quickly test out something or other.

 

 

My total time is 43491 minutes, divided by 2458 games, for an average of 17.69 minutes per game.

 

But that is much shorter than my average time for an UUG PUG extraction (pretty much all that I play), which is roughly 23 minutes.

Which is pretty close to the average U,U,G pug's that I play.

 

Of course there's been shorter and longer games, it all depends on a lot of things.

I'm at around 18 minutes, but I also have a metric fuckton of solo games that I ended up wiping much faster than that, so the metric might be... a bit skewed.

 

edit: it's actually 17.32, or roughly 17:20.

Silver anywhere from 15 to 28 minutes (really bad PUG's can make even silver a drag especially if I'm not prepared to carry)

 

Gold 18 (Glacier) to 25 (if me or anyone else has to clutch multiple waves)

If calculating from the manifest numbers I am at 21 minutes which sounds about right, our games are typically between 17 minutes to 25 minutes (Gold and Plat).

and sometimes when your host loses connection in wave 10 but still manages to re-join after succesfull host migration, you will get time like this

Well, according to that, I'm around 18 mins / game, with 2800 games and 850 hours. Which doesn't seem too far from my perception, actually. Still, I wouldn't even think about measuring "skills" in that way.

Well of course we don't know those things because neither the game nor N7 HQ tracks those for us. Which is too bad, because that would be interesting to know, if for nothing else than to compare e-peens.

Of course all of this is true, but since finding some sort of stat as a marker for skill is the holy grail of BSN, it needed to be discussed.

 

I imagine the average time best correlates with team strength first, and then with weaker correlations to preferred characters and maps.  This is just my guess from playing the game.  A good team with smart setups can complete platinum matches much faster than random gold games, especially if you go into rocket farming / speedrunning.  But even without that, competent death squad play in platinum will be pretty fast if you take some decent dps characters.

Probably about 22 with a decent PUG group using equipment, anything up to 35 with a terrible PUG group with not even a gear equipped.  Times drop to about 17 if a group of friends on Glacier.

Ok...i know some folks can wreck havoc on this game, but 5 minute Plat games?.....  ...How is this even possible?...i'm going to assume you cats did this without missle gltiching?...missions and objectives alone will have you over 5 minutes and the extraction is already at 2 min.....must be pc hax...
