I would love for my Inquisitor to look like this:
Does anyone know if Viv is actually bald ? She's bald on her tarot card so I was just curious.
Its also in all her concept art, so I'd go with almost certainly yes.
I completely support this--so far the only hair textures we've seen for DA is super straight hair which obviously doesn't suit everyone in a world without heat styling tools. I'd kill for some different hair textures.

Yeah I figured, I'd like to see how it looks in game. I think it will suit her nicely.
I think there's a screenshot of a character with a fade haircut, I'm not sure if we're also counting that as a buzzcut, but it looks like it would suit a black inquisitor.
Okay, I saw a video where more hair options were raced through and I managed to capture this:
Nice of you.to capture this, thank you Tamyn ! ![]()
Well, however I am personally hoping for something else than shaved head, baldness or close to these hairstyles.
Just throwing my support behind this thread.
The skin tones look great and the CC in general actually optimized to create black characters, so the lack of at least one solid black hairstyle (preferably not just cornrows) for each gender would be very disappointing.
Much appreciated ! Yeah, it would be a bit disappointing. If we have black skin tone, black features, the logic wants that we could also get some black hairstysles that go along with them lol. At least for the next game if nothing has been done, I hope they would be aware of that.
Well, low/medium quality looks pretty good to someone who is potentially looking at nothing.
It would mean a lot more if they tried and the results were subpar, then if they had nothing!
Haha, this ! Better something that could be improved than nothing.
Hyperbali drew this picture of Vivienne and I would kill for this hairstyle (or even a shorter version) to be in the CC:
Beautiful ! Would love something close to this hairstyle or shorter like you said. ![]()
For the orlesian ball, the hairstyle below would have been cool too lol, :

Extravagant and stunning at the same time. But don't worry guys I'm not dreaming, I know that it would be difficult to create something like that. It was just for fun. ![]()
For guys, something different than cornrow hairstyle that would please me :

Coupled with the great default head 3 there ( and of course tweaked ) , I feel some potential:

Hmmm, maybe. I'll still play a few darker skinned character regardless. I'm okay with stealing Cullen's hairstyle.
I really hope there are some decent dreadlocks or something.

By the way, I don't know if you guys saw "all the hairs" for male inquisitor humans but here they are:

I remember playing Origins and feeling very awkward with my human noble being the only black guy in a white family. It broke immersion and I had to come up with a backstory to explain it.
I think this is why i rarely play as a black character. I just find it really odd when it breaks immersion like that.
I think there should be something in the game engine whereby if you create a black/other ethnic char, the game picks up on that so that if you have any close family, such as parents or siblings, it can change their skin tones to suit. If DA2 could do something similar with changing all the other Hawkes hairstyles depending on yor own, surely other games can do the same with skin tones?
You have to also remember this is medieval Europe like Thedas. They don't have much in the form of haircare products, there is no ultraperm, wave gel, and so on. Outside side of things like a comb, and pins you either had great hair or you didn't. Braiding and tying hair is how hairstyles were done back then. No one is getting a flat top fade and so on (so 90's i know lol). I think we saw all the male hair styles, no fros were available. I plan on making a bald black human for my Cassandra romance playthrough and he is the only male human im going to make period love interest or no (that is to say if it is possible to not romance her because of something i did or what have you.) This is how in my mind I stand up in my own way and represent black heritage.
I wish i could find my male shepard image but apparently i deleted the image i had of them.
looked like Keenen Ivory Wayans but younger.

i wouldn't be surprised if Bioware did it again with this one, though we have no confirmation that we meet any family members from any of the backstories. Though i would assume the Dwarf would likely be able to visit some of theirs, as well as the Dalish elf inquisitor. The Human is from the Free Marches and we are largely going to be in Ferelden and Orlai so i doubt we see any family, and qunari.. well thats a none factor.

I see why the top far left hairstyle has been used so much in CC promo material. There really isn't that much else to offer otherwise.
I dunno. I love 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, and 10.
And as for the hairdo with the braid twisted up in the back, when I saw that I was like, "Holy crap, I could make him look like a shogun warrior!!!"

I'm a fairly girly, Caucasian female and I always play a black male character if I can help it. (My pride and joy being my male redguard in Skyrim.) My shepard has always been black too, but female because - Thane. ![]()
Anyway, the "black options" for DAO and DA2 were.....
And yeah, Hawke's family remains white, as well as the city elf's family, the human noble's, the dwarven family, and I'm the only black elf running around the Dalish clan. (Like... where did I come from? Did I sprout from a flower?)
The only backgrounds that were nice and severed from family ties were those of the elf/human mage. Luckily those two are my favorite origins, but I'd enjoy some variety. (Though, in hindsight, the human mage is an Amell and the Amells are white as white can be.) Seriously, if Bethany can go from super hot to homely because Hawke decided on a different jawline... why not change Hawke's family to a different ethnic background based on skin tone? Maybe this dilemma is why they likely won't integrate family members into DAI - unsure.
It's nice being dragonborn. No one gives a crap who your mom and dad are. Likely one of them was a dragon anyway. jk

Haha the braided style is decent, though I remember thinking how off it looked on that female dwarf in the Fallow Mire demo. Maybe the texture was just off that time?
Also, I'm not sure what that blotchy thing is on 6's forehead...
LOL. That blotch is hilarious, yes. Basically that's one of those floaty things swirling around your inquisitor during CC. I think it's ash falling from the huge explosion at the beginning of the game. And someone took the screenshot and one of those pieces of ash landed right at the top of the dude's head. It's too funny.
EDIT: #6 (minus the piece of ash, lol) is actually a cool hairstyle if done properly. I love this so much. It's so androgynous-ly glam rock, with a bit of Asian David Bowie thrown into the mix:

I don't know what happened for you, but my Hawkes' family always changed their skintone based on my Hawke's skintone.

Wow that is eye-opening and frustrating to know. I have a slew of glitches with my copy of DA2. I'll add this to the list. Another glitch I have is that Nathaniel Howe never shows up in DA2. Never. He's with me to the bitter end in Awakening - in the final battle and everything - and there is neither hide nor hair of him in DA2. And don't even get me started on my romance glitches. Isabela bails on me every single time.

What's ironic is you'd think Black hair would be easier to design vs Caucasian hair. The Caucasian hair is wispy and more mobile. Black hair is much more solid and static. Why *isn't* there more black hair options? Namely, I'd like to see Black faux hawks for women inquisitors. But I'd also like to see (well done) afro type hair, like the wild, straight up in the air, Pam Grier is going to kick your ass kinda hair............
