Since we are in the feedback suggestion. For female inquisitor, some awesome pics, just so they can have plenty of ideas for the next game if needed :

Sorry brah, unless your a mage and made up a styling gel spell/alchemical concoction those hairstyles on what I presume you mean should be a African featured like character just don't match up with the level of technology available. I'd be shocked into disbelief if Vivienne had hair like any of these mock ups? Some would say Isabela is a representation of such features on a African-like (features) character, I'd not argue what she is or is suppose to represent but I'd also say she's likely mixed or the Rivain culture or genetic characteristics are mixed of multiple real life cultures/races?

Heck some of those mock ups have better hair than the actual straight haired characters in any previous DA game to day including Inquisition, basically what i mean is even if it is capable now in reality, a time so deeply rooted in middle age lore and myth would have next to no way to produce those exquisite types of styles.

Actually, there are tons of natural products that are used by people with afro textured hair that can get those kind of results.  Various oils like olive, coconut, shea and castor, gels made from aloe vera, marshmallow root and flaxseed, and probably lots of others.  If people in Thedas could figure out how to use elfroot to miraculously heal wounds, I have faith that there are herbalists who can boil flaxseed and strain it (which is literally all you have to do to get a very good hairgel).

I'm not expecting much at this point, since if any character were going to get a nice afro textured style, it would have been Vivienne, but I hope there's at least one we haven't seen yet that would be okay for my black character.

but there are two, unless you mean afros then well. You know what im glad they didn't add afros of any short because when a game does it usually in a joking manner, and not as a sign of attractiveness.

Are you talking about the buzzcuts for men when you say two?  I'm still hoping there are hairstyles for female characters that we haven't seen yet.  It's possible that it was confirmed that all the male styles we've seen is all there is, but I haven't seen it.

Agreed, though, about afros in games, usually they look like mushroom caps and not meant to be a "serious" style for characters.  Not fond of that at all.

I know it's a completely different art style, but I really like how they dealt with Tavia and Rebecca's hair styles in the Walking Dead Game.  They're obviously not worried too much about haircare during a zombie apocalypse, but it was obvious that they had naturally afro textured hair, and they managed to make the two characters two different styles/textures.  It's a small detail, but appreciated.

Yeah, I'm not expecting much either but hope is life lol.

Well, I'm looking at this pic : tumblr_ncp3u9NR7M1s0588yo3_1280.png

And i'm seeing 18 hairstyles that fit all quite well white inquisitor. I don't think it's too much to hope for two or three nice afro hairstyles, beyond shaved head or baldness.  ^_^ ( at least for future games, if not possible in this game )

I personally loved this hairstyle from Skyrim for my character :

redguard.jpg

And from the recent game Destiny for the female character, this hairstyle : 228px-HumanFemale.jpg

Which made me start my first character with a female character instead of a male.  ^_^

I tend to be optimistic for the future when I look at what was made recently in video games, personally. If some other franchises can do it, why not Bioware ? =)

There is one hairstyle, that I think would be good for dragon age. This one :

tumblr_mosc9lb6Un1qengqso1_500.jpg

Nice hairstyle that could be available for both gender, can fit both gender, pratical and quite simple and short, so less complicated for Bioware to create. Really, I don't think it'd be the end of the world to try something new, or that we didn't already get from previous games. ( DAO and DAII )

This is a fantastic hairstyle - I especially love the bandana incorporated into it.

Being a female that loves to play big sexy black guys (Redguards have always been my favorite race in the Elder Scrolls universe), I wholeheartedly agree that there should be at least one or two hairstyles that would suit their thicker hair and typical styles. :)

Haha, I'm glad you love this hairstyle, because I do too !

Also, truth must be told and claimed, you have nice tastes !  I love the redguards too =)

Looking at those male options... :/ I want to ask the devs about this, but they're getting so slammed with the Qunari hair drama, I don't want to add more, so just bumping this thread to echo that the lack of options there so far makes me sad.

Those look perfect. I'd like to make my Rastaquisitor, but without proper dreads, he will never be born :(

The cornrows we got in the first two games just never looked believable.

I would love to have an afro-hairstyle Inquisitor.

I am an Asian Indian man with an afro hairstyle. Yeah, we have it as well, just very rare. I have been mistaken for an African or a Middle Eastern almost daily.

:D

Skyrim and Dragons dogma gave you the option of sporting an afro . Some developers actually realize that black folks play Rpgs too, and build there CC to reflect that.

By the way, I don't know if you guys saw "all the hairs" for male inquisitor humans but here they are:

tumblr_ncp3u9NR7M1s0588yo3_1280.png

But... but Varric has a ponytail! Are they dwarven only?

Do those also apply to women? I find the lack of ponytails and braids disturbing. And no cornrows for humans?

I guess we will not also see this?

Wow that is eye-opening and frustrating to know. I have a slew of glitches with my copy of DA2. I'll add this to the list. Another glitch I have is that Nathaniel Howe never shows up in DA2. Never. He's with me to the bitter end in Awakening - in the final battle and everything - and there is neither hide nor hair of him in DA2. And don't even get me started on my romance glitches. Isabela bails on me every single time.

Did you start making your Hawke with one of the dark skinned pre-sets? Cause I'm pretty sure that's what decides how your family looks...

there have been ones before so i dont see why not. i believe Hahren Paivel also tells us that the elves once varied as much as the humans. whether he meant in term of skin tone is anyones guess.

The afro in Dragon's Dogma was hardly serious and was clownish, and I stand firm in my belief that it was intended as such.

I really doubt this is about technical difficulties, mostly because if Skyrim and Guild Wars can do it since the ancient times, so can they.

I still remember that Guild Wars Nightfall had really cool ones back on the day. There is no excuse not to have a good amount of variations, even with short hairs.

Briala has dark skin in the books. Zevran and Fenris are not really light skinned either so... actually most of the companions that are elven are dark skinned, even the concept art of Sera was going on that direction.

I really doubt they will take way that option on the CC.

Hmmmm I start with the first preset and have made it dark. That one is white - so there's my answer. Good thing it's not a glitch!

Are we sure this is all of them?

Sad to not see any dreadlocks, or even cornrows (which were in the last two games). But if the qunari have cornrows, then surely the other races would as well..?

I am 99% sure this is all of them, but if someone else can confirm that would be helpful.

Oh thank goodness!! I was hoping to make my male Dalish elf dark skinned (Black? Can they look Black? I'm confused, but who knows till I'm in CC...)  And I want to go that route for my female Dalish too. I'm hoping for a girl that looks like:

500px-Missandei_season_3_ep_1.jpg

But unfortunately I KNOW that hair isn't available. :(

Also I kind of hate this photo of her because her skin looks super pale - it washed her out for some reason. That's not the skin tone I want my Dalish quizzy to have AT ALL.
