I agree with the OP and I hope there will be black hairstyle options to choose from and more options for different texture, like wavy and tight curls, etc. I personally want to give my Inquisitor braids so I hope there are some individual braided hairstyles too. I'm also really happy that the CC is really good with darker skin tones and i can make a pc that actually looks more like me.
Will there be some black hairstyles for black inquisitors ?

Also. This was a TERRIBLE film (dungeons and dragons), but one of the best designs for an elf of "Black" descent. Kristen Wilson pulled it off splendidly. Her hair is also superb.
Edit: Skinny girls tend to look adorable in curly pixie cuts.

But... but Varric has a ponytail! Are they dwarven only?
Do those also apply to women? I find the lack of ponytails and braids disturbing. And no cornrows for humans?
I guess we will not also see this?
We know some hairstyles aren't for all races or for both sexes.
This hairstyle doesn't seem to be available for human males but is for human females.
This hairstyle on a male elf doesn't seem to be available for male humans.
So there is hope for more braids and pony tails for the other races at least, I loved those styles in those original pics but they are from like a year ago so there is no guarantee that they are still in the game.

That's unimportant TC. We need to know if there will be a flock of seagulls hair cut for white Inquisitors still stuck in the 80s.

He did?
Yeah, someone asked him if you could have dark skinned elves, and he said yes and that one of his PTs was one (not AssQuisitor
). Its in the Twitter thread...somewhere....

Briala has dark skin in the books. Zevran and Fenris are not really light skinned either so... actually most of the companions that are elven are dark skinned, even the concept art of Sera was going on that direction.
I really doubt they will take way that option on the CC.
Also in Leliana's song, the city elf's mother. I really hope we can meet several NPCs of color in the new generator, the previous skin tones didnt really give the few PoCs in the game justice.

The afro in Dragon's Dogma was hardly serious and was clownish, and I stand firm in my belief that it was intended as such.
I never thought that my black arisen looked like a clown...well to each his own. But I have to ask, what the heck is a serious afro? And this question comes from someone who has sported one on a few occasions throughout his life.

I'd like to see Questlove's fro up there. In fact, I'd like see him as one of the pre-set character choices!
Here he is coming out of the Fade, brandishing one of his... uh... ThunderSticks sonic maces - equipped with 5 Grandmaster Runes (mod). He also has a huge Crash Cymbal Shield with a deathRoots plant symbol on it. Give him some Zildjian armor and he's my choice every time.
And I'm of the Caucasian Musician Persuasion.

I'm not %100 percent on this but from the sounds of things it seems like we did get kind of screwed over in the black hairstyles department. No dreadlocks of any kind from what i've heard. Shame that Bioware can never be bothered to do something as simple as give some decent black hairstyle options in their games yet at the same time bend over backwards to pander to other silly crap

By "black" hairstyles you're actually referring to stereotypical african hairstyles. So being a fantasy world, your stereotypes no longer apply.

No I mean realistic hairstyles that are consistent with (black) African hair types. You know the like the same various Caucasian hairstyle options that are consistent with real life Caucasian hair types. Some examples have already been given in this thread

While it's nice that's Bioware has finally decided to make it possible to create a proper black character that's just a simple buzzcut. A very standard hairstyle option in character creation. It would be nice if they introduced some dlc with more options.

Really? That's it? If so the options are even more limited than I feared with there being only one distinct black hair type option. Shame

There are a couple variations of the small afro, and a few really short cuts that sort of fit in with what you want. Maybe we'll get hair dlc ala Black Emporium?

It would sure be nice if there were more options provided in future dlc but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I absolutely agree with the OP. I was really disappointed to find out that almost all hairstyles had simply straight hair, except for two (I think) that hint at natural black hair, but are short and cropped close to the skull.
I CAN understand that the textures of natural black hair, when longer, are probably hard to model so they would look realistic/good (and really, judging from the rest of the hairstyles available for CC I really wouldn't hold my breath that the devs could pull it off if they can't even handle sidecuts and bangs) - But things like braided hair, cornrows, dreadlocks should definitely be possible. (while again, I wouldn't hold my breath in regards of quality)
Another thing that pissed me off is that we don't even get some good darker shades of haircolour. It's a lot of different shades of blond and white, but no REAL black (and I really don't count that weird blue dark grey as black), no nice dark brown, no auburn-brown.. just two shades of red, and two shades of a fugly middle-brown.
That adds to the fact that any Inquisitor of colour just kind of looks off...
And c'mon, they added a REAL black to Hawke's CC but not for our main character of the game? Really?

I was hoping so much that there would be afro braids or dreadlocks.

I think the best solution is for more ethnic coders/programmers to step up move to canada and start working in the major video game developer studios.

It's a quite a shame that it would take all that for something as simple as a few more ethnically relevant hairstyles. I mean they consistently make entire characters and character arcs specifically to cater to an even smaller demographic which no doubt take a lot more time, money, and resources to get done. After two games of largely being ignored all we're asking for is scraps and they couldn't even be bothered to give us that. We got crumbs
