I'm under the impression that Alistair kinda went off the deep end in DC. I don't think that's considered at all canon, though.

Also, I've spared Loghain several times, and only once was that non-execution more of a moratorium before he did the US. (Though that's more times than I've had my Warden US.)

Same here on the Alistair bit. I just find it kinda strange.

And for the purposes of not side-railing this into another loghain thread, that's all I got to say here. :S

My question to you all is, who did you side with? Elves or Wolves? :P I can't remember what I did, I think I sided with the werewolves last time to turn them human again..

Curing the humans is technically considered siding with the elves, because that who's support you'll earn during the Blight. But I usually went and had Zathrian cure the humans. If you want the wolves, you need to have rank 2 or 3 persuasion and choose the option to kill the elves.

I did what Zathrian wanted done once, wiped out the Dalish three times, and cured the werewolves seven times.

I think I will be doing the same I think I've already done that once before, I seem to remember curing the wolves and still having elven support. I dunno.

The more I ask here to refresh my memory / figure out my second play through the more I realize this whole franchise has more plot holes than swiss cheese.

At this point I wonder how canon is the  neo-nazi porn star warlock lore ? >< lol

As already said go your own way. My canon is HNF - Alistair as LI and later as King (marry him). Obviously the dark ritual, Loghain dead, Anora hanging upside down in ex-Howe's dungeon (not that I've got anything against Anora). Harrowmont as king of Orzammar. Werewolves freed. etc etc - not exactly exciting or original but it's mine. So yours should be yours.

The Dalish cannot help you because they are under attack by werewolves. You can help them by two means: 1) lift the werewolves curse, which will also help any infected elves, or 2) kill the werewolves with Zathrian's help. Either will recruit the elves.

Alternatively, you can recruit the werewolves by telling them Zathrian ain't gonna lift that curse, better just go ahead and wipe out all the elves. This will recruit the still-cursed werewolves for the fight, and also impress Morrigan (so yeah it's not exactly the most ethical solution). You will not recruit any Dalish, for they will all be dead.

The neo-nazi porn star warlock is, obviously, the main canon route.

If I remember correctly though, you need rank 2 or 3 coercion to be able to persuade the Lady to attack the Dalish camp.

The only way to recruit Loghain and keep Alistair from wandering off is to "harden" him during the Alistair's family quest.

Oddly the default "Martyr" history for DA2 includes "Loghain alive, Alistair king, Warden sacrificed."  I would never have thought of that as canon.  I've never known anyone to recruit Loghain except to sacrifice him.

I had one playthrough where I recruited Loghain, had Alistair King, and did the US....I wanted Loghain to live in pain from the joining and the sickness and be the less valued 'hero'...some little City Elf showed him up and was beloved by all.

to OP, if it hasn't been said b4, I'd suggets the DLC for DA2.....it's good, and adds some potentially interesting information.

I suggest doing this as well.

yeah, I may consider the DLC. heres kind of a dumb question. IF you play as Dwarf noble, has anyone tried siding with Bhelen? I know siding with Harrowmont kinda leaves the whole city of Orz in total chaos imho but that was the choice I made the first place through. (been looking at my achievements)

Does it affect the flavor text at all of the ending? or npcs in Orzammar? Seems kinda shady to pick Bhelen considering everything else lol.

If I remember correctly, Bhelen did derisively refer to the woman my first DN banged in the origin as a wh0re when I tried to get him to adopt her kid. (Which is actually true, if harsh, disrespectful, and just as easy to use to refer to the woman he was sleeping with.) (Edit: Also, since I'm pretty sure that's the actual word he uses why do I have to leetspeak it?)

Edit2: I'm even less sure about this, but I believe that while Harrowmont suggests to House Aeducan they should rescind their decision to expel you after you help him get the throne, and they end up doing so, Bhelen has the status as the King and the Aeducan head to simply declare it done. (And does.)

So it doesn't necessarily break the story line for the dwarves if I was to side with my Bhelen over Harrowmont?

I will have to keep that in mind then.

I finally got around to starting DA:O, I ended up  being a Human Noble (Rogue) turns out, it's the only class I haven't played achievement wise.

I was reading about how devs "official" so called canon over the twitters, is pretty much BS especially the self sacrifice part of the warden, I guess it was a bandaid fix to give lore fiends / perfections a linear goal to achieve, I know a lot of people just like the story and want to follow. Which I kinda understand, I like being involved just as much as just having a story to follow.

Which is why I am now calling the Dragon Age franchise an adult version of Final Fantasy.

No, it was an arbitrary decision that had to be made as to what the default is that you'll see if you don't import, since there will be those who don't import. People are reading way too much into the fact that it exists, and trying to see it as things Bioware is going out of their way to establish that it isn't.

If I remember correctly, siding with Bhelen, in the epilogue it says something about him increasing trade with the outside world, loosening caste restrictions, allowing casteless to join the army (which the nobles and warrior/smith castes don't like) but because of that, they do manage to actually to start pushing the darkspawn back. Also something happens to cause the Assembly to completely dissolve(something about assassination attempts I think).

Some people might not have a choice, such as having DAO on a console, and DA2 on PC, or one on PS3 and the other on Xbox 360. I honestly don't see why someone would have it like that, but it is possible.

Some people might only own DA2, for that matter. Or they might start on Inquisition.

Do you have any plan on the order you are going to do stuff? As an example, doing Circle Tower first, then Brecilian Forest, etc. and doing all the DLC before or after going to each of the main quest areas, or squeezing them inbetween going to each? Since armor you haven't acquired will scale up to the level you acquire it, it would be good to visit some areas of the game later for some good tank armor for Alistair.

Yup, Bhelen allows the 'surfacers' down into Orzammar to help fight the Darkspawn. His progressive decisions don't sit well with the higher classes, and he eventually manages to disband the assembly after a good portion of it tries to kill him. The epilogue then goes on to state that public opinion is divided as to whether he is a ruthless tyrant or a good-hearted progressive king. A Dwarf Noble putting Bhelen on the throne leads to some interesting dialogue. You can ask why he did it and if he killed their father ( I don't remember the actual conversation). A DNW can get their house restored to them as well.

...I always side with Bhelen, I don't know why. He seems like a jerk and yet- It always seemed that putting him on the throne meant sense.

I am trying to do base it on how I progress levels wise, I am doing the leliana's song then circle of magi then redcliffe early as possible because the monsters don't scale very high ( monsters scale in game) then doing the DLC

Right now I hit about level 15, I just finished Leliana's Song, Magi, Redcliffe, a bunch of side quests, then recently just did return to ostagar and if my DLC would stop screwing up, Warden's Keep I hope for some reason Stone Prison isn't working either, i am getting frustrated with DLC I wish they would do a patch 1.06 and just include all DLC in it.  I have been without internet all weekend so as we speak i am re-re-re downloading the DLCs in question, Prison and WK before I finish Orzammar d then head to Landsmeet. I tried to do everything else in the mean time but inventory is getting dicey but I screwed up the Dragon Scale/Skin armor, I didn't have enough money at the time to donate to get the superior version and now I am over flowing with cash...lol the irony.  So I will probably just junk it all.
