short sword with a small shield would be nice, however i really doubt that combat mechanics in this game on a level, where you can build your character around a weapon.
because we all know that it's gonna be yet another buttons mashing by cooldown game or some aspect of it. i mean look at the video, 5 metres jumps or similar crap.

It doesn't look very button mashy to me, seems like it's fairly tactical.
As far as the jumping, it didn't appear to be any different then jumping in most games. I think it's a nice addition.

Depends on if there's chests I can't open before I get a rogue. If there are, nope never will play anything other then a rogue

No but I find warriors in general to be dull as dirt.

I know my male Trevalyan will be a warrior--not sure if he'll go sword and board but we'll see.

not for my first warrior no. maybe later I normally prefer two handed though lately I've found more and more games where sword and broad isn't just the most boring warrior class.

As far as the jumping
there is literally a move by a rogue i believe, when character spinning in the air like a drill. you just can't facepalm more, it even beats makarena dance from DA2.
there are several reasons why i despise DA2 combat, and movesets is one of them. and in DAI i see the very same lame combat.

No, it's not a move for the rogue, It's just a jump button for everyone, I don't even know where you got that info. I'm sorry you don't like the combat, but it's set in stone now so not really any point in complaining.

Nah, I'll leave the sword and boarding to Blackwall. I'll stick with the two-handed weapons.

Oooh, I see what you mean.
Seems like you have an issue with the less grounded animations, but I'm personally just happy that they brought back tactics. Again, it sucks that you don't like it.

I'm tempted. I'm not usually drawn to them, but it kinda sounds like they're trying to make S&S more of an involved class this time, rather than just a punchbag, and I'm interested to see how well it plays.
The major reason I'm hesitating is because that would make Cassandra kinda redundant for my party...

Yeah, the new blocking mechanics actually sound pretty interesting. I'll probably give it a try on my second playthrough, but I'm definitely going rogue in my first playthrough.

you can switch her to two handed... or spec her for dmg/CC yourself for tanking.

Another thing I like, they added all the skill tree's back for companions. Limiting your companions to one style was really annoying in DA2.

Eventually, I may play one, Warriors are always my last choice. Rogue and Mage always fight for being first with me.
With so many specializations, I may not jump to warrior for awhile.

I'm really hoping this is true. But I'm suspicious of how much freedom we'll have to do this.

Rogues can switch from bow to duel daggers, warriors can switch from 2 handers to s/s. I doubt there is a switch weapon button like that of DAO, more in lines of DA2 most likely to switcharoo.

I was just saying that I think the combat looks good, that's what I meant. I can clearly see that you disagree and that's fine. There's no point in continuing this conversation.

we'll have it. they'll goes make us jump through alot of hoops to do so. that seems to be the plan this time around.

What do you mean ? You couldn't switch weapons at all in DA2, your companions could only use one weapon style.
I'm pretty sure you can go into your inventory anytime outside of combat and switch weapons now, it seems the most likely case.
