we'll have it. they'll goes make us jump through alot of hoops to do so. that seems to be the plan this time around.

If you mean that they won't have abilities for the new weapon, I think they mentioned in the stream that you can respec. So I don't think that'll be an issue.

I'll play a warrior - eventually  - if there are things that make it interesting. So far I haven't seen anything to indicate they might be more interesting than in previous games. So far I've played one warrior in DAO, and that was because I couldn't envision my DN as anything else.

So far my plans are Knight Enchanter, Rift Mage and Tempest. I don't make plans beyond that because I don't know how many playthroughs I'll be able to do with this monster of a game

not that, I mean I'm sure switching weapons will involve more steps then it rightly should.

Actually, even during combat in DA2 you could change weapons.  Open up inventory, take off the weapons and put bow on, then exit back out.  That is what I meant.  :)  It's not quick and easy switch.

I see what you mean, I'd really rather they had a switch button, but you'll probably have to go through the inventory screen.

you can switch her to two handed... or spec her for dmg/CC yourself for tanking.

Thats a good point actually. I was planning on taking 2hander because I wanted to be Warrior and have Cass in the party, but yeah I suppose I could reverse it. Also they said in the Twitch stream that Cass was specced as Tank which could mean the S+S could also be specced for damage too.

I loved my sword and board Vanguard/Beserker in DA2. Hmmm... food for thought.

I like my s&s reaver templar. even if it was a pain to get his healtth down. was surpised at the dng he did when I did. s&s can be very nice for tankier dps

Hell yes...it's my favorite combat style.

It was going to be my first playthrough but now I'm torn between that and a dual wield rogue. I'm not sure yet.

very unlikely. I did multiple playthroughs of DAO and DAI, with pretty much every class, race and weapon, except for S&B. For both games. I don't like it. Probably won't here, either.

I will indeed. I'm thinking sword and shield for my human templar and then 2H for my qunari reaver.

Nope . I plan on playing a Mage with Qunari , Elf then Humans . Once I get that out of my system...I start doing a warrior . And hopefully I can swing a giant 2 handed swords..cose Sword +Shield...well I found it a bit dull . Even though I do love a Tank .

Can't check right now, but didn't Mike and Cameron say you could respec in game?

As long as S/S isn't limited to tanking. I'd much rather play an offensive focused warrior. To be fair, past DA games have been good for this, allowing sword-and-boarders to put out comparable damage to other specs, albeit with less AoE.

Absolutely going that route with my first character - sword and board is my favorite play style.

I want to start with a female warrior this time, so I think I might as well go with sword and shield.  Females wielding two handed weapons tend to look a bit silly in Dragon Age anyway (Two handed weapons look silly in general in Dragon Age really...), and swords tend to look more epic than maces or axes... Yes I'm that superficial.

there is literally a move by a rogue i believe, when character spinning in the air like a drill.

Doing two full (combat) rotations = spinning like a drill? Let's call that an... interesting assassment.

i think  female with  a   claymore is better bad ass my self   but in a real  battle i think  a axe would be more  cost effective as we all know only the rich could afford  a sword of  descent make and i hope our peasant army are equiped with axes

Axes? Please, peasants should have all sorts of interesting pole-arms like billhooks and warscythes (which are proper weapons, not the glorified lawnmowers that generally appear in games when scythes are available), or, if all else fails, spears. Axes aren't really peasant weapons.

Interview stated that even if you pick a card, like two handed, that doesn't stop you from going sword and board it just determines your starting hear and talents. Probably similar to how DAO have you a starting skill. I am not sure this means we can full on respec though, or just that you can level up a different path and ignore the starter skill.

I like heraldry so if I can get a custom shield with a nice inquisitor emblem I am game.
