No i said out peasant army should have axes on the battlefield

In medieval times peasant armies didnt really exist though. And when they did it was usually to rebel against their lords. All of the peasant uprisings I can recall off the top of my head failed horribly. They failed because armies of trained mercs backed by the lord and his heavy cavalry is pretty much impossible for a horde of untrained peasants to beat.

Here are some examples

My first playthrough is pretty much always S&B (or Slash & Bash as I call it).  The learning curve for me is lower for that class, and when I am first learning the dynamics of the game, it seems the easiest way to start.  Plus, I tend to rush headlong into the fray, so that seems the safest bet, what with armor and hello..shield! lol

Thank you for all those links but don't you think as the Inquisitor   as our army first starts out it will be filled with lower rung  aka Peasants but am sure over time we will replace the farming equipment with real weapons as time gos on?

Almost certainly not. I'd sooner play an archer rogue.

I miss dual-wielding warriors.  :(

Well, you can field peasants if you like, I intend to field trained soldiers outfitted with fine armor and weapons from my castle armory.

No but I find warriors in general to be dull as dirt.

I feel the same way...at least ever since DA2 (loved the warriors in DAO other than not having a single one handed weapon spec) anyway and it looks like warriors are the same in this one so no no warriors for me again.

I usually do a S+S tank if I play warrior. Nothing is quite as fun as jacking your health and defense up so much that basic attacks do nothing.

Surprisingly yes, I plan to play one as my first character. While 2H-weapons are more to my liking, I want to try something different this time.

I think at first the inquisition will be formed of soldiers that see what you did(survived the fade blast) and pledge themselves to your service. Like cassandra does. So no need to include untrained men, because they would pretty much just be useless mouths to feed.

As I said above, untrained unequipped men in an army are pretty much just useless mouths to feed. So there would be little point in incorporating them into the inquisition.

I usually like tanks in RPGs but find them very boring to play in Dragon Age games for some reason. Almost seems criminal to me to neglect a class like mage seeing as how pretty and visceral this game is on Frostbite.

Rogues can switch from bow to duel daggers, warriors can switch from 2 handers to s/s.    I doubt there is a switch weapon button like that of DAO, more in lines of DA2 most likely to switcharoo.

Yeah but you still gotta pick one I think. I don't believe you get THAT many skill points to make using a bow as effective as your daggers if you main DW.

Generally it depends on the Race (I always play Warriors first/ as mains / the most) but for my Humans its mostly Sword & Shield , sometimes 2H or Dual Wield (when it allows for it) But yes first time around Sword & Shield.

My Warden was swoed and shield, as was my first hawke, and my Inqui will also follow the trend. Although if combat as a sword and shield in DAI feels like DA2s (i describe it as trying to chop down a tree with a spatula) i may cry.

I won't respec, as my Inqui isnt sure how to use those big manly weapons, but it just may mean more dps guys to drag my sorry arse around.

Then future playthroughs= never Sword/shield again
