I had a thought today about the possibility of Richard Armitage being the VA. Wouldn't he have been filming for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, when voice work for DAI was being done? I don't think he would have had time to be flying back and forth from New Zealand to wherever the nearest Bioware voice recording studio is to do voice acting.

 

But who knows, I could be wrong. Maybe there was enough time for him to do it.

I thought it was Stephen Dillane at first glance/hear, but I doubt he'd be into doing video games tbh. Alastair is most likely.

Well, I can't pretend I'm not disappointed it's not Armitage, even if it was a lofty dream. But, good to have a definitive answer finally!

After watching that video of Alistairs voice overs for advertising, now I'm imagining it's Blackwall earning some extra cash - when Grey Wardening falls on hard times - by lending his voice to advertising.
