Bhelen. I only made him king due to there being no neutral alternative. Harrowmont was a disappointment though I did not expect much from him. I might try choosing Harrowmont anyway in a playthrough and see what new King takes the throne if one does. I would not mind seeing Renvil Harrowmont though. Would be nice to see how he is doing. It will probably be awkward to meet him if the Inquisitor was/is a Carta Dwarf though...

From my DAO, I would be very happy to see Morrigan, Alistair, Leilana, Wynne and Oghren.  I am not very keen to meet up with Zevran and Shale. 

 

From DA2, I would like to meet up with Varric (who is going to be there in the game), Aveline, Bethany/Carver and Isabella.  I am neutral about Merrill.  I do not like to meet up with Fenris and Sebastian.

I'd love to see Sebastian back at the head of a fiery crusade to wipe out all apostates. Other than him, I only want Isabela back as a brainwashed Qunari slave and Fenris for the sake of drama with Dorian. The crew from Origins I'd be content with not seeing again, but I miss everyone from Awakening. It sucks that Sigrun is most likely dead and it hurts to hear how much everyone but me hates Velanna.

I think I might want to see Queen Anora, especially if married to Cousland. She was beautiful in Origins, but returning characters tend to be made uglier in this series, so I don't know...

Agreed, I loved Anora and once I found out it was an option to marry her I haven't done anything else.

 

To answer OP's question, I want to see Merrill back. Out of every game I've played over the past few years, she is the only character that would cause me to be really crushed if she was killed off.

I would like to tie up the Sebastian loose end, as my Hawke chose Anders, and we got to hear all his little threats, without the option to say 'come ahead', as we of the Scottish persuasion would say.  So, yes, I'd like to see that finished.  Not happy about characters from the books being included, as not everyone has read the books.

Want from DA2 -- Fenris, Aveline, Sebastian

Do not want from DA2 -- Anders (knifed him, better not come back), Isabela (abandoned me in 1st playthrough), Tallis

 

There's also a few characters that I'd love to see from the books, because they may add a lot to an encounter and such.  From the  Dragon Age: Asunder book, Rhys and Evangeline would be cool to see and talk with; Adrian would be satisfying to kill (sorry, I loathe her).  I'm happy that Cole will already be a companion.  From The Masked Empire, I'm having a feeling we might see a few important characters, but I'm indifferent or disliking of the majority of them.  From Dragon Age: Last Flight, I would love to see or hear mention of Valya and Reimas.

1)Anders( I actually supported his  V for vendetta/Guy Fawkes moment. it was extreme,and cruel,but so was the treatment of mages for the past 3k years)

2)Merril(she's an idiot, but she's an adorable[not i a weird way]idiot)

3)Sebastian(nice guy + I would hate for a character who was paid for to not(at least)make a cameo appearance) 

 

Do not want from DA2 ---

1)Fenris (waaaaaaay too broody + kind of an ******* unless you know exactly what to say)(made ME apologize after HE betrayed me in the fade)

2)Carver (it sucks[for me] that 2 out of the three warrior companions[IMO] were annoying characters

3)bethany (I have nothing against her per say,but she had very little character in her)

 

 

Regardless of who I want/don't want; I think it would be ridiculous for Hawke's surviving sibling(if indeed surviving) and Hawke's LI to not make at least a small appearance given that Hawk him/herself has been confirmed

Want to See : Pretty much any companion from DA:O or DA:A would be interesting to have a cameo of. Aveline ,  Bethany , Isabela.

from DAO I want to see ogrhen (I would say alistar,leliana,morrigan but they are already confirmed to be in). I also wouldn't mind seeing sigrun or Nathaniel. Don't want to see velena unless her personality improves.

 

DA2 I want to see issabela (varric too but he is confirmed) I do NOT want to see anders or sebestian.

Merrill's clan is dead and her eluvian is broken. I'd like to see what she's doing with herself now that she basically has nothing to live for. While he's dead in my worldstate, seeing a depressed Anders (with a hobo beard, please) losing his battle of wills with Justice would be delicious. Oghren is now an aging Warden who's spent the past decade doing nothing other then slaughtering darkspawn; it would be a dream to have him back. Shale had better return.

Companions I would like to see return:

 

From DA:O:

• Shale: From what I understand from dragonage.wikia.com, I don't get an epilogue for Shale because I don't choose the ultimate sacrifice. The last I hear of her is from Wynne, who tells me of their impending journey to MInrathous. I wouldn't necessarily need to be able to talk to her, but I would love to occasionally chance upon some dwarven woman gleefully running after and striking out at flocks of birds in various locations throughout Thedas.
• Alistair: Looks like I'm going to get my wish. I just never want to hear of any referral to his Calling.  Ever.  (Lalala...I'm not listening.)  Even my male Dalish elf, who thought Alistair was an annoying and weak-minded, couldn't let him die and underwent Morrigan's ritual, despite his deep mistrust and dislike of humans in general. I know the Calling is inevitable, but that doesn't stop me from hoping his Theirin blood might somehow magically mitigate the effects of the Taint, though having dragon blood did little to help the Old Gods.
• Sten: I rarely used him in my party and talking to him was arduous, but if he turns out to be an Arishok whose favour can be won with cookies, I wouldn't mind his support during my Inquisition.

From DA:A

• Sigrun: I adored Sigrun

Who I would NOT like to see return:

 

From DA:O:

• Oghren:  I'm all Oghren'd out
• Loghain:  I've spared him once. I find I feel far more satisfied executing him, regardless of whether I'm a human, elf, or dwarf. I'm only sorry someone has to clean up the mess he leaves.
• Leliana:  Too late.  I hope she has grown less insipid in the interim.
• Zevran:  I slit that faithless bastard's throat every time.

 

From DA:A:

• Velanna: Even my Dalish Warden could not stand her. 
• Nathaniel: Sexy voice notwithstanding, if I never see another Howe, it would still be too soon.
• Justice/Vengeance:  Perhaps he can return to the Fade now that the Veil is torn all over Thedas

Would of liked to see a female dwarf companion, can't believe we never got one in any of the 3 games, especially a paragon, I thought they where suppose to be their best warriors.

I'm not big on cameos since they shrink the world a bit, but Alistair would be nice to see again. With both Leliana and Morrigan reappearing I think I'm spent on the DA:O pool. Sten is a great character, but I wonder if he's best left to a story that focuses more on the qunari, assuming that there will be a game that goes back to them.

From DA:A, both Nathaniel and Sigrun would be great to see. Being Wardens both, I could see any number of reasons why they'd show up.

 

DA2's companions were not really substantial as far as cameo material goes, since none of them have really important duties of their own, save for Warden sibling. I'd really like to know what becomes of Bethany or Carver though. I'd settle for even a mention. Hawke's LI maybe, but a mention there is more than enough.
