Heya folks. I'm so proud of myself today, because I was the Official Editor for Jason Crane book 2, Bridge of Bones, a novel about the last descendant of Ichabod Crane discovering the myth of Sleepy Hollow is reality. Both books in the series so far are fantastic, I had a lot of fun (and worked like a dog) editing, so I wanted to share! Richard Gleaves has really done his research and it shows--no vague New Englandy feel here, this is 100% real deal Tarrytown--historical AND present-day. With ghosts. And, of course, The Horseman. So, please, check it out, it'll help me get more editing work in the future and also support a worthy self-published author.
I edited a novel!

Are you Richard Gleaves?
And I think it's kinda problematic creating 'buy my stuff' threads on Bioware.

No, I'm not the author. I'm just telling people about my project--and I've seen hundreds of threads and posts where people talk about their projects. Heck, most of the top threads on this page are about non-Bioware video games. If I were a bot posting no other content but ads, that'd be different, but I've got almost 5000 posts here as a major participant and part of this community. I think I'm entitled to tell people about a project I worked hard on that they might be interested in. ![]()
Also, if anyone else has done a novel, feel free to post about it in this thread! I'd like to hear about people's work!

Advertisement of any form is not permitted, over four thousand posts or not. If you don't want to get this locked, you better stick to just talking about the book, or your experience whilst editing the same, but marketing it is a big no-no.

I'd also like to hear from anyone else who does any editing. It's kind of a tough gig from my experience, but there seem to be quite a few services out there (I did some research). I was surprised by how much punctuation is really optional--Richard Gleaves has a substantially different style from my own formal writing, inasmuch as I have any formal writing. I have a blog here where I do writeups for my games: http://literatrix.blogspot.com/ and it's really just an entirely different kettle of fish. I tend to use commas a lot more, for instance, because I was taught to separate my clauses. That and I tend to be kind of Dramatic when I talk, so I pause a lot more. When I write, that pause usually becomes a comma.

Well before this thread gets locked (since it seems to be heading that way): Congrats to you, since no one has said this already, if what you say is true. Your claim doesn't seem unbelievable, afterall, this forum is home to a lot of gifted and educated people.

Look for AtreiyaN7 on the BSN. She usually does a lot of this stuff.

Congratulations! It's now on the 'buy when money happens' list.
Cool! I hope you get a chance to enjoy it. If you do Facebook, look for The Jason Crane Series and Like the page, Richard sometimes does free giveaways and discount days and bundles and stuff to try and spread the word about his work.

Nice. Always good to meet people who do The Writing.
Anyone doing NaNoWriMo this year? I know it conflicts with the Inquisition release, but it could still be fun. I need to get off my duff and work on my own novel more.
