I don't know if this has been said yet, but:

I want to be able to set the team to use their AI but not move around. In DA:O the team goes dumb when they are in "talk to the hand" mode.

No more Chaotic Stupid dialogue options.

Why would I antagonise my teammates, I want either:
a) Fewer dumb antagonistic dialogue options,
and/or,
B) More accommodating teammates, let (some/one of) them adjust their personalities towards YOU, want to say things that would please you (based on your actions/attitudes so far).
and
c) Teammates who get you if you make them the butt of a nasty joke. Surely a BIT of ribbing is okay? It's bonding! The current miserable bunch take offense at everything.

A less formulaic approach to the main story. It's too obvious that the game is going to send you to several different quest hubs with the eventual conclusion of the hub being with the folks there joining your army.

A way to see what debuffs on targeted enemies are, so I know when to re apply them.

I will pipe in with what I do not want to see..

1. voice for the main character

2. crafting

3. opening lock by non-rogues

What they need to do is write a good story and basically do what they did in the Origins and I will be happy.

Here is what I would like..

1. Dwarf romance option

2. would be awesome to have story continue based on the choices you made and the result of the first game especially for dwarfs cant be specific or it would be a spoiler..

3. I want to be able to sick the dog on people as a conversation option :)

4. More politics! more backstabbing, assassination, bribes and all the other goodness

 • More recruitable characters.  I'd like a much larger cast.  However I don't want the actual camp to be ridiculous.  I'd rather them do what they did the Baldur's Gate series and set some of the characters opposed to each other.  So if you recruit character A you cannot recruit character B and vice versa (ex.  the recruitable option towards the end of the game at that one event).  I'd also like some more unique character classes, like Shale or Dog.  (Maybe a werewolf?)
 • Better specialization.  Specializations should really define and separate out characters from other characters in the same class.  Instead they are really more of a footnote.  I'd really like the the specialization trees to have atleast 4 more talent options.  I also think that the bonus stats they provide should affect you each time you level, and not just the one time you pick the specialization.
 • More immersion into the world.  The areas that are in the game are nice, but the world seems so small since you only go to thos couple areas.  I'd like to seem some travel areas included where monsters respawn and you can have random side quests.  Not those tiny little battles you sometimes get travelling between locations, but full blown zones that are just open areas to travel in.
 • Better Skills.  Combat Tactics should NOT be a skill.  You should have the same number of Tactics slots per character.  I'm thinking between 15-20 is a reasonable number as if you made it infinite I'm sure there would be players out there who'd plan out all kinds of ridiculous tactic sets and probably overheat their system.  Lockpicking SHOULD be a skill.  It seems really silly that I have to waste my rogue talents on something that should be an inherant nature of the class.  I mean look at Zevran.  How does an Assassin NOT know how to pick locks?
 • More of a reason to use weapons other then swords.  I'm sorry but as far as warriors are concerned there is no reason to ever use anything other then a sword, with the possible random exceptions of an axe here or there early to mid game.  The stat differances between weapons is so large it's crazy.  Going back to #4 they could also add in skills for proficiency with certain weapon types, giving you bonuses for using that type of weapon.
 • Party chest should be in the camp.  Trekking halfway across the world every time I want to store or unstore something is annoying.
 • Increased party size.  I really think the party size should be atleast 5.  6 might be too much, but 5 should definitely be allowed.  The cap of 4 really limits who you bring with you.  I can pretty much guarantee that unless you play as a rogue almost everyone has Leliana in their party.  Why?  Because she's the only lockpicker unless you take the time to skill up Zevran.  You're always going to have Alistar or Shale tanking (unless the main is tank).  And since you take up the 3rd slot, that really only leaves you room for one companion of random choice and, depending on your difficulty setting, this is probably filled by Wynne for healing.  Making the party size 5 gives players a little more flexibility to play around with.

A BABY GRIFFON! If you can't ride one, then at least have a small one (like the size of Dog) to be a party member.

And I almost forgot one of the most annoying things in the game: having to return to camp to change party members. The button is in the wheel of choices, but its ALWAYS turned off for some reason. Why is it even there?

And, like Kris mentioned, the ability to kill NPCs too. I really wanted to slay that hag, Goldanna.

1. What characters you have in your party should really be affected by the decisions you make. The number of companions you can have in once game should be roughly equal to what it was in this game, but there should be like 3 or 4 other characters that you can through different choices.

Example would be in the forest place where you go to get the elves. Siding with A or B gets you different units aiding you in the final battle. Just do that only with it affecting the companion characters you get.

2. Specializations really need to be expanded. Having just that one row of abilities to choose from felt very limiting. For a ranger especially, I was really expecting something that would help expand on the bow using aspect of a rogue, but all it gave you were animals. I'm fine with the animals and all, but they should be there in addition to other options. There should be at least 3 rows to choose from for each specialization, in my opinion.

3. More weapon options. The Warrior and Mage both had plenty of options to choose from, but the Rogue was very limited into only selecting from two weapon specializations. One that really needs to be added is a focus on using just one single-handed sword. I really think though that swords, knives, maces, etc. should have to be focused in individually instead of wielding two knives being using the same moves as two maces.

4. Let me have the ability to be friends with people and not just automatically in love if the relationship bar goes far enough. I was kinda leading both Morrigan and Leliana on for a while but when Leliana confessed her feeling, I said we were just friends. I still gained approval from her though, so when I talked to her right after this she was somehow under the impression that we were in love now and told me to break it off with Morrigan.

5. I really think armor wearing should depend on constitution while sword using should depend on strength. It just doesn't make sense to me that I put a ton of Constitution on one guy hoping to make him a tank, but then the guy I pumped Strength into survives better in a fight because he can wear the better armor.

6. As many have said before me, we need way more differentiation in armor types.

7. This isn't my own idea, I just remember reading it somewhere on these forums and I thought it was a great idea. On the world map, instead of just clicking on your destination and going there, you choose which direction on the road you venture, and choose which way you go at crossroads etc. This way you can discover new areas by taking a different path and whatnot.

More flexible character builds. I noticed that it is not possible to create a human warrior who is a 2H weapon specialist. You must start out as a S&S user and then chose the 2H weapon options. There are similar pre-determined options for elves and dwarves. If you want to create a dwarf archer warrior or an elven S&S tank then you should be able to do so without any pre-determined skills that you do not want.

How about giving your main character more of a personality, by that I mean an actual voice. You can get a MUCH better sence of who your shaping up your character to be if he or she had a voice with tone and feeling according the subject that there talking about. All you already get is selected default voice with chessy one liners through out the game, some are actually funny, but a normal speaking voice like everyone else in your party wouls be a great improvment for DA:O 2. And of course more Morrigan, you can never get enough of Morrigan.

Just want to point out first that I LOVE Dragon Age. It's been one of the most emotional and awesome game experiences for me in a long time, ever since Knights.

1. Appearance. Something I really enjoyed about KotOR was that no one had the same hair style as Bastila or Carth. It made them really stand out as *your* companions. In DA:O, tons of people had Leliana's hair style, or Alistair's, or my own, etc. Would have been really neat to push that individuality in the game.

On that subject, different styles for different origins. I loved how Dwarven tats were different from other races, but why not City Elf hair be different from Human Noble hair? This was probably just a time issue for the developers, but it still would have been amazing to see. :)

Also, JEWELRY! I hated those weird chunky leather things hanging around people's necks. If it wasn't that, it was a metal dog collar thing, like in my avatar. Not only was it impractical, but it's just stupid looking. I didn't love Oblivion but I did love being able to wear pretty necklaces and earrings whenever I chose.

And because I just love to look pretty, the choice to wear nice dresses around town would be cool too. :P It would be funny to have people comment if you're wearing something weird, though, or if you're wearing nothing at all.

2. Enchantment? Enchantment!

3. Companions actually doing something not totally lame at the camp. Most of the companions just stood there. What fun is that? Dog should be bothering Morrigan with her trying to swat him away. Alistair should be cooking some nasty, slimy dinner. Leliana should be playing an instrument. Wynne should be reading. Maybe on top of banter when you're walking around, you get camp banter as well. Maybe even party actions can cycle randomly, so that, for instance, Alistair is sometimes training with his sheild and sword, poking at the fire, as well as cooking. There's a lot of opportunity for laughs and immersion in there, I think.

4. Some funnier reactions to gifts. I once gave Oghren a tiara I pick pocketed for lulz. He said it'll do. LAME. I think he should have been wasted, donned it, and proclaimed to the dog that he was the princess of Orzammar. :P

5. I've always been an avid Bioware fan and was always used to the PC not talking, just kind of creepily giving a blank stare at the person in front of them. Which is cool. But I ended up really enjoyed how in Mass Effect you got to have a voice and express a different personality during dialogue choices - like being a person who was dedicated to duty, relaxed and friendly, or a downright douchetool. I wouldn't mind seeing that again.

If not voices, then I would really appreciate more expanded dialogue. Like instead of simple one-liners like, "yes, I agree", which are boring, you get something along the lines of "yeah, I agree, and this is why. And if you do x instead, so help me Maker, I'll staple gun your face to lava." You get the idea.

6. Moar Alistair. And Morrigan. And Leliana. And Oghren. And Dog. And Shale. And everyone. :( I want to see them all again! Or at least hear mention of their adventures from other people.

7. Random critique - Orlais was supposed to have been booted out only 40 years ago or so, right? Then more people should have pointed out Leliana's accent and be racist against her. It seemed really unnatural for no one to hate/mention Orlesians so much after all Loghain had talked about them raping wives and burning down homes.

8. A happy ending! If you so choose, anyway.

Despite some nit-picking - I love you Bioware. <3

Add Spear weapon. Riding horses. Higher Max level up to 99 like any other RPG genre game. Can make an army and battle like we are in the battle field. More like Lord of the ring battle. I think it will be more fun added.

I believe your choices are just the general point of what your character says and you're just supposed to imagine a more complex dialogue if that makes any sense?  At least that's what I came to believe when Alistair asked my Dalish rogue how their people honored the dead and the response was "we bury them and plant a tree on top."

 • PC speech is the main thing missing for me. It isn't Mass Effect but I really miss my PC talking. Also the characters seem more animated in ME. Watching dudes in some scenes they look kind of dead behind the eyes.
 • Scabbards - how hard would that be? Or is it just to show off your weapon - Arf!
 • Staffs held vertically instead of glued to the back. Forgetting the magic/status aspects they're to make walking easier, no?
 • More weapon types: falchions, shortswords, spears, 1.5H swords.
 • A path or tree for single weapon use. e.g. A rapier and nothing in the other hand or a broadsword held sometimes in both hands.
 • More weapons/armour models and icons.
 • I like the looks of the leather armours but don't like the glam of the heavy sets much. I think both glam and drab should be on offer to all armour types tho as plenty people like the glam paladin thing.
 • Quicker 2H swings.
 • More tactic slots and better tactics AI. If possible Tactics that cover ranged/melee. e.g. Custom 1 Ranged and Custom 1 Melee using the 'If X jump to tacic Y' option.
 • Body shapes for fat and thin. And gaits. Limping old man, pot-bellied mages would be good. All the old fellows look like burnout hippies rather than old men when you see their generic ripped bodies.
 • Better stamina recovery and cooldown options - my Duelist only gets to do one or two activated feats per fight usually. My preference would be to reduce the power and cost of them so they're more tactical choices in usage rather than bomb hits. Something akin to the magic combos - Life Drain is no better a damager than lightning bolt but using it when it is tactically favourable makes it a more enjoyable combat. There's not as much of that feeling in melee. Failing that, stamina potions.
 • Notification of what item you just received. Better encumbrance system - 100 potions = 1 suit of armour = 1 letter = Fail.
 • No combat access to communal equipment. Better yet no communal equipment except at camp. Every person for themself. Pack what you need.
 • No need to rely on mods for storage at the camp site.
 • Lock bash and Opening spells.
 • Stats that matter besides the main 1 or 2.
 • More variety from Specialization. Multiple levels on some of the talent tree items would be one way to do this. e.g. Momentum 1, 2 & 3.
 • Stealth should have better rewards for higher levels like slower reveals. Maybe Stealth 4 lets you hit twice before being detected.
 • Some option for no armour. Monks/Barbarians have been accepted in RPGs so why not Duelists who choose not to be armoured?
 • Monsters with a choice of tactics. SPOILER (sort of): Certain extra large monsters can be panelled by 4 archers well spaced apart. Monster goes for one who runs off to kite it. Monster goes for the next in line... If that was me I'd stick with one target after being tricked a couple of times.
 • Pulling off enemies - Ack! Ack! - is kind of silly when a squad of 10 men can be killed one at a time by shooting just one to provoke him to leave his allies.
 • Options to respec somehow.
 • Lighting. Torches/lanterns in the off hand.
 • Parents that change colour to match the PC.
 • Hold position and keep range as individual character options outside of tactics. Tweaking them so they don't stop auto-attack for characters holding a position.
 • Defend place/person as an option or tactic.

That's enough for now. I'm really enjoying the game, mind. All the above sounds like I hate it.

Maybe as an alternative to larger party make certain quests allow or even require 2 separate groups of 4? One grp creates a diversion while other breaks in.. sort of thing

I would like the tactics for each character to have all the available slots without having to spend level up points on them. I found the combat tactics for the non-controlled characters was really well done and included a staggering amount of options. The fact that I was not able to include all the available options from every character, that I would like, because there are not enough slots available seems wrong to me. Is there a reasonable argument for why this should be a “skill”? I think that if an individual has a talent, spells, ability, ect. they would know the best way to use it in combat.
[*]Notification of what item you just received. Better encumbrance system - 100 potions = 1 suit of armour = 1 letter = Fail.
[*]All new items are highlighted in yellow. The problem is as soon as you move the mouse to the icon, the highlight goes away. The game needs a way for the player to clearly and deliberately mark it as seen. As it is, you can accidentally clear the highlight.
[*]No combat access to communal equipment. Better yet no communal equipment except at camp. Every person for themself. Pack what you need.
[*]Totally disagree. This just makes the game mechanic more complication while adding little to the playing experience.
[*]Pulling off enemies - Ack! Usually you attack one and everyone nearby attacks. What I have seen happen is everyone but one will call off the attack if you retreat far enough which is realistic. In any large group, you will get someone who play "hero" and gets killed.
[*]Lighting. Torches/lanterns in the off hand.
[*]Another "realistic" detail that only adds to the complexity of the game mechanics with little increased game experience.

I have noticed alot of people want crafting of items/armour/ weapons, and new skins so everything doesn't look the same, what about applying the armours/weapons stats to different peices of the armor, and as a crafting skill you can dismantle the armour or weapon and combine it with different peices, IE: you can change the blade, handle, guard on the swords, or swap different shoulderguards, breastplates etc. they can do that with staves like different wood, gem or something that gives it the magical properties and accessories like beads, that kinda thing.

They way you can customize the look and stats of your armour and weapons, and provide alot more options
I like the ability of being able to truly customize your items and opposed to making "fixed" items like WOW does

just a thought

More Unique Boss fights.

More monters and enemies to fight.

More Endgame fighting, would have liked things like the Final battle stage to be a whole lot longer.

More unique loot and class/spec specific gear.

Ingame respecs for your hero aswell as companions.

More interaction and dialog options with your companions.

More maps and areas to explore

LESS LOADING time waste plox!

Online Multiplayer function, abit wishfull thinking for a game like this I know but would be cool :-)

Otherwise I just hope Bioware will give us yet another amazing story to roleplay through.
