Hopefully we can go to Orlais in a sequel/expansion and hopefully it will live up to the hype and not just be another brown infested mudkeep.

I'd like to see the main character actually talk.  What's the point in picking your characters voice if they have no actual dialogue.  I realize with 6 different race/sex options and mutliple voice options per race/sex that recording that many dialogues could get tedious, but I think everyone would be willing to settle with 1 or 2 different voice choices per race/sex if it meant hearing the main character actually talk.

* More exploration.

* Moar Leliana.

* Spears, twirling pikes and other weapons.

* Moar Leliana

* More armors/clothes/robes. (Especialy for rogues and mages)

* I don't think I mentioned moar Leliana...

* More choices & decisions.

* More "personal" and buddy related quests.

* Deeper romance/friendship options & interaction. I've noticed that there isn't much you can talk about with your peeps after a while. So that would be nice.

* Oh and before I forget, moar Leliana.

*More interesting side quests, rather then the mmo like time sync ones it currently has (most of them anyway) But i guess we have to pay for those :P

*Deeper friendship and romance that does not include bribing them with gifts to like you more. It gets abit fake when you do something for eksample horrible but give a few gifts and all is well again....I think it should be a little more unpredictable. And abit more interactive dialog between party members could not hurt either.

Abit less linear, and maybe more space to explore places outside main plot. ( not thinking morrowind type exploration) but a little more options would be nice. Maybe pick up a interesting new quest along the way i dear say ;P

It would be welcome to have...
-less combat
-more riddles
-more negotiations and other non-combat-adventures
-more out-of-combat-feats and -spells
-story with surprising turns (not like: The army of the darkspawn is not coming here, but going there, we have to return, more like the wardens' secrets, more like Revan, you know)
-specializations, etc. effecting the story / your options of acting
-a big sidequest unique to your origin (if the game should still be origin-based and you are not playing Morrigan's child, while I think I'd prefer the last thing just for the interesting story it could bring with it)
-interesting sidequests instead of "Go there, kill everyone, return" or "talk to 3 people, hear the same answer, return"
-make clear how an answer you can give is meant (perhaps by a small "ironic" / "caring" / "honestly" / "suspicious" in front of the line, if it is not completely obvious how the line is meant
-different dwarfen and elven companions
-removal of "game-elements" (circles around characters, etc) in full-screen-(screenshot)mode

Oh, and, I'm as well one of those who prefers to select one of several voices to fit the character instead of hearing his voice speak all the dialogue. Nothing to change there for me.

More role-play decisions!

More mini-games according to origin.
For instance, noble/dwarf humans get their estate they have to maintain(I loved how they did it in Neverwinter Nights 2) - upgrade and hire personnel for, city elves/common dwarves can open shops or become crafters, dalish elves have to maintain their camp and keep their territory safe, mages... Well, kind of limited there, I guess. Either you're a circle member or you're a maleficar/bloodmage.

Expanded tactic options.

More casual clothes! More CUSTOMIZABLE clothes! Choose your shirt, pants/skirt, belt, necklace, etc
I hate how everyone is always walking around in their massive armour... Do they never get tired of it? I bet they even sleep with it... >_>
I want the option to wear casual clothes in safe towns, the camp, cities, cutscenes, etc, and only don my armour when I am leaving to do battle.

Larger world, yes, and more varied random encounters! :D

More NPC response regarding your specialization. I don't think the Circle of Magi takes kindly to being visited by a bloodmage, or the Chantry of reavers who defiled Andraste's ashes.

More talents and skills, too.

And lastly, some pretty helmets please! Or circlets, or even some kind of crowns. I hate how helmets cover your entire face, I didn't spend a half hour creating a satisfiable face in the character generator only to have ti covered for the entire game except for cutscenes.
I know it probably won't be realistic, but so what, this is a fantasy world anyway. :wizard:

Oh, one more thing; I know this probably isn't feasible due to the extra storage it would reqauire, but I would really love to hear my character talk more often - but still retain the different personalities you can choose between during character creation.

One more thing!
The ability to fight with my ENTIRE party, ala a mercenary band, and have the game scale difficulty and enemies upon the amount of people in your band.

Capes. This game needs caps. Every awesome hero needs a Cape. Batman has one, Superman has one, Darkwing Duck has one.

The consequences of the dark ritual.

Be set in other countries.

Other mage origins apart from circle mage.

Human commoner origin.

Improved tactics.

More mage specialisations.

Improved archery and shapeshifting.

The ability to give orders.

While they did a good job of giving the illusion of an open world I would like a bit more actual openness if possible.

More random side quests.

Get away from the Bioware formula of complete 4 main missions then go to the end game.

I couldn't care less about having more armor models / in-game housing / day-night cycles/ etc. That stuff is just bells and whistles, and it isn't what makes an RPG truly great.

What makes an RPG truly great is choices and consequences. Sided with the templars? Now you've got a very tough decision ahead of you in Redcliffe. Somebody in your party objects to something you did? You might have to kill them. Now THAT is what makes an RPG truly great. A wide variety of choices that end up affecting you later on is essential to making the game good. Taking one path might mean that a helpful future ally has been alienated, or that you take on a different quest than you would otherwise.

Also, keep things relatively morally gray like they were in DA:O on many occasions. There weren't that many opportunities to be a mustache-twirling villain in the game, and I for one, am thrilled, because I find the good-evil dichotomy in most games to be idiotic. The Witcher did a great job at this, too.

Storyline wise, what I'd like to see in a sequel is a more interesting setting. Ferelden was pretty dull. Sure, elven and dwarven society were EXTREMELY interesting, along with the lore surrounding mages and templars (very morally gray, as well, since the templars are somewhat justified), but I just didn't care much about the nation of Ferelden itself. There was nothing about the country that stood out for me. It looked like a fantasy setting I'd seen a thousand times before.

On the other hand, Orlais sounds like a decadent place full of corruption and absolutely brutal divisions between the nobility and the common people (remember the Orlesian woman at the market talking about how powerful Chevaliers are?). The nobility sounds even nastier and more petty than the dwarves'. Also, the fact that the place is the seat of the Chantry makes things more interesting because we might get a glimpse of possible corruption in the organization.

Tevinter history was incredibly interesting as well, seeing as it's a crumbling empire trying to keep things together with slavery. Also, the Qunari, with their rigid and philosophical way of life where people's places in life are set also interested me. The conversations with Sten about free will and whether happiness was important in life were amongst the most interesting in the game. I would love to take a trip to Seheron or Par Vollen to get a better glimpse of their strange culture for myself, because it's so out of the ordinary and far more interesting culturally than anything Ferelden had to offer.

Lastly, I'd like to see a more convincing villain. Orzammar was my favourite part of the game because you got a glimpse of the darkspawn as something more than a vaguely "evil" force of nature that kills for no apparent reason. A stronger conflict that resonates on a more personal level is a must.

Everything else, I mostly liked very much. For the most part, there were no clear-cut good guys vs. bad guys dichotomies, I LOVED the lack of a karma system to hold my hand and tell me whether I was being a good boy or not, and the characters and romances (the Morrigan romance was one of the highlights of the game for me. Very immersive) were fleshed out very well.

All the game needs IMO is a stronger, more personal conflict that connects with the player emotionally more, and a setting in other parts of Thedas. Even though the game was called a "dark fantasy" I didn't feel that Ferelden was particularly dark at all. The opportunities for the story to take place in areas of Orlais, Tevinter, or the Qunari lands will truly give the ability to make the game a dark fantasy.

Gameplay wise, I'd like to see better balance. For warriors, dual-wield seems to be the way to go for DPS, sword and shield for a tank, and two-hand seems to be a lot weaker than it ought to be. Likewise, a dual-wielding rogue does MUCH more damage than a ranged rogue would because the specializations cater to them far better (ie assassin and duelist are solely for duel-wielders. Archers don't have a specialization that caters specifically to them). Arrow of Slaying is a great talent, but most other archer talents are sub-par.

Mages are certainly a bit overpowered - an arcane warrior/blood mage is nearly impossible to kill. Lore wise, it also doesn't make sense to me that mages do a far better job at killing mages than templars do. Mana Clash absolutely savages enemy spellcasters to the point where you practically have an "I WIN" button.

One possible solution to this is adding a few more AoE abilities for warriors. Stuff like War Cry + Superiority is a good first step, but for now, mages are the only ones with the ability to lock down an entire battlefield of enemies.

Some parts of the AI definitely need to be improved. I shouldn't be able to run around in a circle with a Pride Demon chasing me while my companions plug him with arrows, at no risk of being attacked. I'd also like to see enemies aggressively go after healers by making the act of healing draw threat. It would make healing your companions a tricky tactical choice and fights a lot more dicey.

Anyways, these are just some suggestions I thought up. I loved the game overall, but there certainly are things that could be improved.

No. DA2 has not even really begun development. Bioware has suggested it will have an improved graphics engine, and that it may be set in a completely different part of the world and not involve Darkspawn or the Blight at all.

Awakening is complete, is in the same engine as the basic game, and directly continues the Origins plot.

Also, I would like the option to romance every single NPC. For characters like Shale and Wynne, maybe a romance doesn't take the form of physical affection, but another form like very close friendship that includes special scenes like the other romances. Maybe you have scenes where you share a humorous moment with shale instead of a steamy love scene, or similar moments with Wynne. I don't know, maybe that makes them just another party member instead of a romance, but it is something to consider.

I really like this idea.  It would be nice to work toward bonding cutscenes with characters which are not romantic, while upping the ante on the steamy love scenes.

Also, don't underestemate the free advertising you get from Fox News.  Their concerned coverage of your games is a fair barometer for letting you know if you've done your jobs properly! :)

Fleshed out companion quests (these were really good in ME 2).

More twists

Side locations that look well designed like ME2

Use tricks to make the game look better in over the shoulder camera

More main story content in the middle area of the game (main plot pacing suffered at this point)

More big monsters I'd love a big giant basilisk and other creatures and for each one to be set-up as well as the Broodmother was.

Vary the combat more I want combat to be rarer with more investment per encounter.

Keep the character writing, depth and personalities as good DA:O beats ME2 in this area easily

More cutscenes

I would like to see:

-UNLIMITED inventory space. Sick to death of constantly having to sell/destroy items to keep the size down. At the very least, increase the capacity to something a bit more managable-like 250, maybe? Also, I'd like to see item subcatagories such as "Armour by Stats: Lowest ----Highest". Granted, that's just OCD talking...

-Better mage clothing: along these lines: h00.deviantart.com/fs20/300W/f/2007/295/f/5/Tales_of_Magic___Sorceress_by_picster.jpg  Why should Morrigan have the sexiest outfit in game?

-The option for companions to give gifts to the PC. It would be a cute addition and the gits would depend on the Approval ratings.

-Veichles/Transport specific to class. for example, a human noble could have the option of obtaining a war horse. An Elf could aquire a Halla, mages could summon winged beasts and Dwarves could ride Mabari war hounds! :D

-Instant travel ala Fallout 3. Instead of having to trek halfway across Ferelden to revisit an area, how about an option to fast travel to any unlocked areas, thereby reducing loading time?

-Underwear removed for  "scenes of an adult nature" >_>

-Body sliders- make fat Elves, skinny Dwarves, adjust the height, weight and general build of Pc characters.
-More options with hair styles/colors

-The ability for Blood Mages to summon dragons in battle.

That's all I ca think of for the moment...

Orlais sounds nice, and I would like less underwear, It really killed the mood...

(MINOR SPOILERS)

-more meorable moments like Leliana's song - my favorite moment of the game, I enjoyed listening to it, it brought deep atmosphere, and you saw the different partymembers reacting.

-There were moments in DAO were I really had the feeling of role playing, more as in other RPGS, like deciding that I couldn't forgive a person for what he did to the city-elves, playing a Dalish. Would be nice to have that feeling in DA2 expended by even more roleplaying choices (I guess there is still a lot of room, let some more writers work on it)
