"What's your plans up until release?"
I'll avoid the forums. Last time, some butthurt individual leaked the entire plot of Dragon Age 2 and made entire threads with titles revealing the plot and end boss. Mass Effect 3's plot leaked before release too IIRC so I have no doubt Inquisition's will either (really Bioware should stop leaking their plots because twice can't be a coincidence, personally I think it's Gaider leaking the plots to troll everyone but it becomes a problem when someone else decides to spam spoilerific information in titles across the forums).
I'll also avoid the GameFaqs message boards as those people are even worst. Some guy will have completed the game within a day and then will make a thread (thinking everyone else has already beaten the game too) titled "was anyone else surprised that david gaider was the actual end boss? i was because i wasn't expecting that and i didn't like it that we can't kill gaider either and that we loose the battle no matter what and was anyone also surprised by the fact that Dorian betrays us? i totally was and then cole turned into a demon and that was a surprise too everybody and also the warden is killed by your character and i didn't want that so i give this game 7/10 because it made me cri. pls add david gaider boss dlc pls bioware sinclearly XXXquickSCOPER12CODXXX."
When do you start your media hiatus?

Probably the first few days after release, because I'll be too busy playing the game to go online, lol.

When I've seen enough to know I'm buying it anyway or a story-driven game starts dropping spoiler bombs left and right. I mean, I'm getting DAI and know it because it's already paid off but this is one of those rare exceptions where I just keep following it anyway. I'd like to think I'm doing this because I anticipate the game so much media information is the only way to fend off an addiction problem.

Possibly today.I've never done it, but I've heard people who stop following a game before release.. In recent years I've been victim to leaks and big spoilers that have ruined things for me. Though Bioware is usually good at being hush hush, I feel like i should stop following at some point.

I won't. I already have the game preordered, so any "spoilers" that may be revealed between now and release won't bother me. For now, I will just continue playing other games, mostly ME, till DAI is released

I'm going to may myself scarce around the time those with EA access and XBOX Ones get their hands on the game. I'll not be spoiled by dirty console peasants.

I'll only exit if there's a massive leak, on the level of the DA2 or ME3 leaks. That being said, if something happens in the game that I don't like I'll hop on Google in a heartbeat to see if I can "fix" it...though I really try to quell that reaction, at least on my first playthrough...

I'm actually rather open to spoilers this time around. I want some assurance that the game will not make me cringe with rage like ME3 did.

My plan is to start avoiding DAI news on the 13th of November, when EA Access begins. I want to avoid DAI spoilers, so I can really enjoy the game.
This for me. Not taking any chances. Outside of some stuff, the main story hasn't been spoiled for me, and I plan on avoiding that ![]()

out of curiosity, what was the da2 leak? I can't recall any leak that you guys refer to.

The game launches on november 20th here. Probably gonna go dark on 15th to avoid any early access stuff that xBox players might leak. Even earlier if they get access to it sooner.

Probably around mid October due to a lot of thing happening.and with most things I've read or seen sadly I have a lot on my mind with family and such I doubt ill even remember most of the things I've read or seen.
Legend of Korra comes out Oct 21st, i'm going to pick that up and play it until DAI comes out probably.

I seem to remember someone mined the demo and found Meredith's final boss model.

i'd start now if you haven't already, they have shown alot of the game from trailers, and people on tumblr getting good screenshots and gifs. i personally will keep looking for new stuff, from what the devs have been saying there is so much in inquisition that odds are you won't find/do it all in a single playthrough, but i suppose thats true of all the dragonage games.

In the UK so I won't get it until the 21st. Or later if my postman does a no show like today ![]()
I'll be dropping out the week before, preferably when that EA early access kicks in. I'll be avoiding these forums and social networks as that's my only source of spoilers at this time.
I want to have all the storyline surprises I can, but my curiosity does get the better of me way too often, so I will need to summon a lot of willpower. Maybe just hire someone to shadow me 24/7 up until the release who will be ready to yell, 'NO' and slap me when I start looking.

Yes and no, those with EA Access / Xbox one, will be able to get the game earlier, the rest of us will get access on release date.
