Now that the ISS is live, we want to hear your thoughts! This thread is the place for all your ISS-related discussion, so please use it to report any issues with the feature, bugs, requests, comments, questions (I could go on forever). Please note that the ISS is still being refined - here are some problems you may encounter for the time being:

  • The ISS may change your heroes/choices (hero from female to male) - please play on a World State you're okay messing with. We're working on fixing this right now - there are a few logic errors. :(
  • The ISS may have a long load time. Don't worry if it doesn't start playing right away.
  • You may accidentally hear your heroes' gender and/or origin in the ISS referred to incorrectly.
  • Those using a PS4 or Internet Explorer 9 browser are currently unable to edit plots via the ISS.
  • The ISS is not working in Internet Explorer 10, if you use this browser it will crash.
  • Some users may have issues viewing the ISS on tablets and mobile devices.
  • It may not play the entire ISS (encompassing both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II).
  • If you can't click the play button, clearing your cookies/cache should make the ISS available.
We're working on resolving these and will post updates as things get fixed. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts!

Because we're getting a bit bigger - please remember to follow the Open Discussion rules:
1. Be nice to others and respect their ideas
2. There are no right or wrong answers - people use the DA Keep in lots of different ways and that's awesome!
3. If you're not crazy about an idea, that's okay - we'll sort through them ;)

Super awesome, though I noticed in my first looksie that activating the ISS autochanged some of my choices.  Possibly because of sync issues?  I put in the beta bug ticket already. :3

Also, I've noticed this on the live streams too, but the video looks a bit choppy?  I'm pretty sure that's going to be fixed but I figured I'd mention it.

All in all though, yay!  Looks amazing!  I love this art!

Reported some bugs. Overall great job! Varric is a little biased though.

No words to describe how amazing it was! Thanks!!

Slow load as stated, and some few choppy bits, but I still have goosebumps. Absolutely love it!

Ok. Quick feedback.

The good:
1. It's great. Varric is the perfect narrator and it felt great listening to the story :).

2. It'll help greatly the people that didn't play DA Origins and DA2 to piece together the plot into one cohesive narrative.

3. While the animation is pretty simple it'll help make the feature more accessible to everyone.

What could use some polish:

1. Transition in narration between DA Origins and DA 2 seems off. There needs to be something in between that moves events from Origins' Warden to the perspective of Hawke. "It all started..." is just not enough and the whole transition doesn't feel "fluent".
2. Minor thing. When Varric talks about Hawke joining the mercenaries it's not Meeran's face that's displayed but rather Athenril's. I imagine that it's not planned to stay that way. (EDIT: It seems it's swapped. Meeran appears when Varric talks about smugglers and Athenril when he talks about mercenaries).
3. Just a "maybe". I know it can make keeping the narration's "flow" more difficult but there could be more mentioned about the companions in there :)

Overall it's a great feature though :).

I really enjoyed this, although it only got half way through my DAO history before it sadly crashed! I'm guessing the number of keepers rushing over made it wobble a little. (I'm using firefox as a browser - because my computer's too old to run the memory hog that is Chrome!)

I don't know whether anything can be done with the background music too? Because I'm going to be honest, that got really grating really quickly. I liked having background music, but that particular piece was not working for me.

But otherwise, what an excellent refresher. I especially loved playing it over a DAO world state that I hadn't ever actually played so some of the turns of events were brand new to me, which made it really lots of fun. And really useful too.

I agree with all of this, but especially 1. A way to bridge DA:O to DA2 would be cool. Maybe Anders?

I enjoyed the ISS alot, and didn't have any major issues but there a couple things

- A couple times Brian's audio seemed to skip or have an awkward transition. I should've noted the times it happens but I wasn't prepared so sorry.
- Inn the beginning when it was introducing my Warden it showed an Elf Mage rather than a human.

1. [Bug] Buttons for changing Decisions while the ISS plays don't show up (I remember seeing them in the presentation)

2. [Bug] Narration stopped after describing the warden setting out to find the anvil of the void. Music continued. Both instances of this happening were the screens with the blue, somewhat shattered anvil showing.

3. [Bug] After the two afforementioned screens the ISS went to grey and didn't continue.

4. [Feedback] The Music is a bit loud compared to the Voice of Varric. It's no problem most of the time, but the Song does have a lot of points were it gets very loud for a short while, which interrupts listening to the Voice.

5. [Feedback] The "Loading" Icon vanished a long time before the ISS was actually completely loaded, it would be better if it would last for the time it takes to load the ISS.

Also some (side quests mostly) decisions get changed after the ISS plays (the Warden's class, Flemeth's Grimoire, Oghren the Family Man, ect)

Jep, that´s what I thought, too. It´s now a bit ...ooops ... something new. There is a bridge missing.

One more thing. The "play" button is a bit inconspicuous. It might be hard to notice, especially for new people who don't have contact with the community for help. It's an overall problem with some buttons IMO. Maybe make it a bit more obvious? Some tooltips (showing on cursor hover) explaining functions of various buttons could help a lot.

I didn't hear it all (narration stops at Anvil of the Void), but I have some thoughts:

  • I think it's either too slow, or too monotonous, but I may be under that impression because I've spent some time staring at all these choices in the Tapestry already
  • Subtitles would be very welcome, or making music slightly quieter (or making it adjustable), especially considering non-native english spekaers (like myself).

These are the things I noticed so far, apart from them it's absolutely awesome, I love how it uses same pattern for artwork as the Tapestry, it gives a nice sense of continuity with the Tapestry even though the general style is simplified.

Goosebumps!  I'm a little surprised that Varric didn't talk about himself at all :D

I also noticed that the music got a bit loud and drowned out the narration briefly at times, other than that I could cry...

Edit: Having read through some other comments I agree with the lack of flow between the two games...and is there a way to pause?  Is that a silly question?

I've just watched it and I have to say, it was beautiful. Seeing all this almost made me cry. Congratulations to everyone.

I watched it on my iPad and had no problems and didn't notice any mistakes, except for the DA2 summary, which seemed to cut off rather abruptly right after it started but I suspect it's because I'm on the mobile internet at the moment. Will try again when I have access to wifi and send you feedback.

Once again, massive congratulations and thanks to everyone who worked on it.

I liked what I saw, bugs not withstanding.  I'll need to view it at home where I have faster internet before I can start bombarding you guys with feedback.

One thing I'll point out, I think the ISS needs a "fast-forward", or the ability to quickly skip to choices.  I think that would be a nice quality-of-life improvement right there.

This was amazing.

I only experienced the origins part of the story since the DA2 didn't start for me and it had meet my expectations.

Awesome art, awesome soundtrack, awesome writing and voice acting.

A small suggestion:

Have you ever thought of making this interactive?Perhaps you could choose to seek the Elves/Eamon/Mages/Dwarves in your own specific order?

It is a great summary but there is still a lot of bugs when it comes to watching it. I have been sitting here for a few minutes with just that background music playing. Some times the pictures will play again after the dialogue is spoken. There are times when it crashes. I am using chrome by the way. I will submit a bug report through the dragon age keep. I have been waiting for this feature since the first time i clicked on the button after i first started beta testing. I am completely satasfied with your choice of narrator. Varric woul of been my first pick as well. He is a master story teller after all. I cant wait till all the bugs are worked out and it finally flows alot smoother. There are choices that are not gone over but at least the major ones are. So thanks for finally opening up the interactive narrative. I will continue to watch it and try it out on all 5 of my setups to see how different they flow.

Oh yeah. Subtitles and "pause" button and/or possibility of skipping between various "story segments" would help a lot. Especially later on when the story will grow with the introduction of Inquisition and following games.

Ok absolutely amazing and totally blown away by the ISS.

Some issues I've noticed:

1) My Female Amell is showing as a Female Surana.

2) When joining the smugglers Meeran appears and not Athenril.

3) Says Warden partakes in the Dark Ritual even as a female.  It does work I suppose since you convince either Loghain or Alistair to do the ritual, might be nice to differentiate between them though.

Only suggestion I have would be to consider a subtitle toggle.

Seriously though it's really awesome, love the animation style :)

Liking it so far, although it seems to think that my Warden was a female mage Elf that had a baby with Morrigan, LOL! It also glitched out at one point and showed me all the fates to Connor's possession, then crashed entirely early into Hawke's story.

In terms of feedback, the music could do with been made a bit quieter because Varric's husky voice tends to get drowned out a times. Pity Varric didn't mention who the Warden/Hawke romanced... or at least, I presume he doesn't mention Hawke's LI since I hadn't got that far into it before it died on me.

I was a little surprised that we never got to '... and that's when Hawke met this amazing, handsome and talented dwarf' :D .

Anyway, IT IS AMAZING!!! At least, the part I heard was pretty great - it cut out for me at the end of the Deep Roads. I'll try again later. I've got some suggestions for improvements, but it's a lovely feature.

The ISS is SO COOL! Love Brian Bloom's voice, and it's a fantastic way to get newer people into the story while also engaging existing fans.

Some problems I noted while viewing:

-My warden was white! :(  Y'all are already aware of the Warden appearance discrepancy issue, so I hope it's something that can be worked around before the Keep goes live.

-The voiceover sometimes gets cut off at the end of a choice section.

-During the smugglers/mercenaries choice, it shows Meeran even if you worked with Athenril.

-My first time viewing, the ISS abruptly cut off and took me to the Tapestry right before it started to talk about fighting the Arishok. I watched it a second time with no issue, though.

Once I had completed viewing the ISS, it had automatically changed some of my choices. It switched me from having romanced Alistair to having romanced nobody-- when I tried to change it back, the Keep's autocorrect forced me to switch from my custom female Tabris to the default female Tabris. I was able to change her back with no issue, but I'm not sure why thought it needed to be changed in the first place.

ETA: Agree with the above posters that the music could sometimes be a bit loud (though I generally liked it and didn't find it irritating), and that the transition between DA:O and DA2 needs to be smoother. I know you said you're working on a pause button- a skip button and subtitles would be a welcome addition to this!

2nd point. It seems it's swapped for some reason. When talking about mercenaries Athenril appears.

For me too but since I never played an elf Mage I didn't realise it until you mentioned it. I did think that Amell had shorter hair :)
