ISS is very lovely, just hope that there would have been section for Awakening and at least the DAO and DA2 parts would have been separate (so it wouldn't start all over from beginning when I want to check later parts).

I also feel like there were some missing parts, several times storytelling would cut of and begin new sentence. And Carver becoming templar was missing its voiceover.

EDIT: Oh, and Athrentil and Meeran pictures were definitly swapped with me.

Generally, I really love it! This is exactly the sort of thing I was thinking would be excellent to draw people in.

As such, I love that someone can actually make story choices right there in the ISS! (When that works, I too had the issue of occasionally not receiving the ability to "edit choice" or it would show up late, making me think it's a kind of lag issue?

In relation to the video, I love the feel and look of what's there. The part for Leandra....goodness. Excellent job of capturing the surreality and horror of that moment when she stood before your Hawke.

I was, however, wondering if there are plans to expand beyond the major plot points? I'd love to see the love of the characters mentioned and a general impression they left. (IE, they were ruthless, they were moral, kind, down-to-earth, etc)

If the Warden ran off with Zevran, Sten, Morrigan, or remained to rule as a monarch or run the Wardens; if Hawke ran off with Isabella, Fenris, Anders...etc, or became the ruler of Kirkwall. These sorts of things flesh out a character and help to draw people into a story. I think that not only the people that play DA:O and DA2 will appreciate these things, but that a person coming in at DA:I would find that it would help draw them into the Keep and these stories they never played. (Might even sell some copies of DA:O and DA2 to such folk!)

Other than that, I can't load my character's stories, I'm guessing due to syncing being down. So, it'll definitely leave even more of an impression then.

Thus far:

All choices seemed to be represented in as such as I made those choices.

It acknowledged Dark Ritual with Morrigan, but said that the Warden had performed the ritual.

Meeran's picture showed up when talking about the smugglers (this has been mentioned, but more input right?)

It did not acknowledge romance with Sebastian at all for Hawke, however I have not tested all love interests yet.

The sound was great, and there were no jumps or skipping in the narration.  There was minor skipping/slow down on the images/animations.

The transition from Origins to DA2 was jarring.  I'm not sure what could soften that, but you go from epic arch demon death to "It all began", and I was like, what do you mean Varric!!!  You already told me how it began!!!

The background music got a tad too loud during parts of the narration (I will replay a couple of times and make note of exactly where).  It was difficult to hear Brian Bloom's voice over the background music.  On the other hand, I thought the music was very good, and after a certain point it kind of just blended in with Bloom's voice, and gave the story more weight.  It didn't feel repetitive until the crescendos and I could barely hear Bloom.

Edit: Overall in the keep, I had been saying the keep was moving slowly or good enough, and at this time it actually seems to have sped up when making choices, so yay!

And, just got it to play all the way through.  XD   Really enjoyed it, though I have to agree with what a few people said - it would be nice to have a little more of a bridge between Origins and 2.  A sentence or two would suffice, but at the moment it is jarring with Varric just saying "It all began..." halfway through the narration.  :)

If the Edit Choice function doesn't pop up make sure you've 'unlocked' your world state.

Ah, that explains it!

An icon should appear in the upper left corner, that allows you to edit the choice you've made. I had my world locked and it still let me do it.

Nope, nothing. Ah well.

Well, it seems awesome, but unfortunately it only got as far as Redcliffe for me before the narration died. Music and images continued to update, but no sweet dwarf action. I'll try it again later when I have a bit more time to devote to it and see what happens.

Took me about 5 attempts to get it to run all the way through. Nice little ending to it as well!

I do love the ISS so far, so awesome to hear Varric narrating,  however here is some thoughts/bugs/suggstions

Some issues I have noticed--

*Thinks a female mage elf warden had a baby with Morrigan and changes choices post ISS in tapestry when world state was locked

*at times Varric's voice glitches, stating the same thing twice-example "with the heroes help the people of Redcliffe,

with the heroes help the people of Redcliffe"

*the edit choice popup comes up, but I feel for new players they may not understand what it means or how it works-by the time you would see what happens, its into the next segment--a pause/back function could be useful here

*Needs a better segment from Arl Eamon to Circle of Magi, maybe a line such as "with Arl Eamon recovered the Warden traveled to the Circle of Magi"

*When having Alistair duel Loghain art shows Alistair with King crown, although he remained with the Wardens and Anora is queen

*Needs a better bridge between DAO and DA2, I agree going from talking about the archdemon to "It all began" is confusing, especially for new players

*when Hawke works with smugglers, merchant art shows up in ISS

*I think the plot of Awakening should be included--as a bridge between DAO and DA2, and include Anders and talking Darkspawn which could be important in DAI

*In DA2 section , Varric voice keeps cutting out, and the DAO section of the ISS Varric kept repeating sentences at times-I am using firefox browser on PC if that helps

*After watching the ISS, it changes my choices in the tapestry that a female warden romanced no one and had baby with Morrigan when previously had it as female warden romanced Alistair and he had a OGB with Morrigan

Overall,  I love watching the stories come alive in the ISS, can't wait to see the finished project :D

The one thing that have changed after playing the ISS, my female elven mage turns male and has the baby with Morrigan instead of Alistair. It has happened both times I played it.

That aside, the ISS is completely amazing, I'm completely in love with this feature. I'd love for more choices and details to be included in it. :3

Yep this happened to me as well.

- Race/Class doesn't appear to be accurate in the video. My female human mage appeared as a male elf mage.  My female human noble rogue appeared as a warrior.

- the whole "warden participated in Morrigan's ritual" really made it seem like even my female wardens impregnated Morrigan, which is kind of hilarious. Having an alternative line that just said "the Warden convinced Alistair to participate in Morrigan's ritual" would work better.

- Queen Cousland slide was a little clunky in vocal terms? It didn't flow naturally.

- Video suddenly stopped during the middle of my Hawke's portion of the video.

Suggestions/Love:

- I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE VIDEO AHHH IT'S SO COOL!

- I agree with others--I feel like I need my companions to be mentioned, because right now it sounds like my Warden just solo'd the whole adventure. I also agree that the transition between DAO and DA2 is really, really rough.

- Other than these minor things I really really love it!

Some feedback from me as well:

1) The feature as whole is very good and I love Varric as our storyteller! The art is very good as well, I like all the animations.

2) There is little lag in the teams, it mostly shows in the sound but it's little annoying ^^; I have to try with my PC tomorrow though, my laptop maybe isn't good enough to play it properly.

3) Sometimes the music stops and Varric still speaks.. and then music comes to background again but it sound like bug not something intended.

4) There was some choice problems. In the beginning it showed that my Cousland is woman like she is but in the end it showed and said that she did dark ritual with Morrigan which is impossible. It was Alistair who did that! XD

5) Varric sometimes rushes things.. I think it's bug but suddenly he stops and goes to next topic middle of sentence. This happens a lot during DA2 but not in DAO.

6) Suggestion: Fullscreen option for the story summary would be nice.

Wow the keep itself is coming together so beautifully! The only issue I really had was a few choices didn't seem to sync up with the ISS. For a second it made me think did my female warden switch to a male in order to have a baby with Morrigan!? As well as changing me to being queen instead of staying a warden alongside Alistair (who I had also kept as a warden).

Otherwise the options of allowing me to edit were there, as well as the sound, and audio I found no issues. Keep up this awesome and outstanding work! Love it!!  :)

The only major lag I got was at the very beginning and right after Redcliffe. I thought at first that it had stopped working (though the theme music continued playing) but I'd say it continued after 10-20 seconds.

IT NEEDS SUBTITLES. Not just because his voice gets drowned out sometimes because of the Music, but also because 1. Some Dragon Age fans are hard of hearing or deaf (myself included) and 2. Not everyone can watch it on a private computer with sound.

The only story issue I have with it is I would love for it to mention your Love Interests!

EDIT: OK I played it for another playthrough and it messed up the gender of my Warden. I saw that this was a known issue, so nbd.

-It stops after the Urn of Sacred Ashes for me on Google Chrome, but it works on Firefox.

-I couldn't find the change choice button and there is no play/pause button?

-Needs subtitles as an option.

-It said I kept the anvil for a golem army when I destroyed it.

-Transition from DAO to DA2 could be better. Maybe showing the games title at the start of each?

-Music sets the mood for the Dragon Age 2 part, but the DAO one is a bit repetitive and boring.

That's all the issues I have though, overall I'm very pleased! It's awesome!

Excellent update! I really enjoyed the ISS and it ran pretty well for me. I did notice, like a few others, that Athenril and Meeran's faces are switched when Varric talks about Hawke joining the mercenaries or the smugglers. But all in all I loved it! The only thing that could make it better is if, during the video, you press the edit button and change a decision it should play a soundbite of Cassandra yelling BULLSHIT! xD

It's so cool to finally see the 'mini-movie' and Varric's narration in action! Well done! Okay, here we go:

Opinion: The transition between DAO and DA2 is too sudden. Mentioning Awakening and Anders so it follows up better and 'clicks' when he's mentioned in DA2 would be better.

Suggestion: Subtitles, please?

I'm going to send bug reports but I'm also posting this here:

-For my Solona mage that stayed with Alistair in the Wardens: It changed my character to a (male?) elf mage, and made the Warden do the ritual instead of Alistair. Loghain being killed by Alistair shows the image that hints at Alistair being king (he has a crown and holds Loghain's head) even though that's not the choice I picked (I picked the Alistair killed Loghain in duel) and it does follow up on Anora ruling alone after.

-Mercenary icon shown instead of smuggler one.

That was all the bugs I could get for the first world state before it froze near the end where Anders blows up the Chantry.

Another suggestion: Perhaps mention who the Warden/Hawke romances? It might be too late for extra voice acting, but if possible, it'd be a nice touch.

I'm going to see the new choices now. Will they carry over into the narration or will the syncing have to be fixed first?

...however we still have lots to do to get ready for DA:I shipping so for now we're looking at a few easier options.

ok - A quick call out then to share this thought, and to read between Leah's lines,

which I hope I'm doing authentically, please put me right if not:

It's now October 2nd, so two weeks to go before the Keep goes live (ish).

Assuming there is a week of stress-testing, a week to go before bugs are wrapped up.

That's a lot of work in a short time.

Personally, given that no launch date has been specified, I'd rather the Keep team took a few more days to be totally happy than

to worry about any whining that breaks out on main BSN if launch drifts into late October.

I think as Keepers there are probably things we can also do to help:

  • When this goes live it's going to be the first public slice of DAI so if it's buggy that's not going to set-up DAI very well which will follow a few weeks later.
  • I think it's helpful that if we submit some specific beta bug feedback, that we quote the internet browser version on computer, tablet or phone and be as specific as possible about what the issue is. Not everyone can easily put a screenshot link in the beta feedback but that's what I'm doing where I can.
  • Before we  post a piece of feedback I think we should check the 'what's known' list http://forum.bioware...2-known-issues/ and not repost known bugs.
  • I don't think there is an issue with suggesting new stuff, but I'm sensing a real focus now on fixing anything broken in what there is, rather than making new stuff. The Keep is an ongoing thing, it will evolve with new stuff, but it's got to evolve from something that works beautifully at launch.
  • So if we have a suggestion to deal with an issue, we could share the ideal solution but also suggest the simplest thing that will resolve the issue.

You know how it is when you're up against a deadline, the Keep is gorgeous, but the Keep will be a decision point for casual players who are wondering whether to buy DAI or a load of other new games that are out there instead. They won't care if your boon is not referenced, but they will care if it bugs out during their rudimentary world state set up and they will take the bug condition of the Keep as indicative of the bug condition of DAI itself. If it doesn't work for whatever trivial reason they may not give it a second thought and move onto to something else.

So we can be even more part of a process that helps for a change,

rather than hinders, as the BSN forums can sometimes do.

On mobile, the fifth time I managed to get over the Redcliffe part at end DAO, though it lagged more and more, up to DA2 where I can't watch becuase all the dialogue is missing. I'll try later on PC.
From what I saw the choices were correct.

So for my world states it seems the all mighty overlord that is Male Amell seems to keep injecting himself into my world states after playing the ISS (at least the ones where the ritual was done)

btw I'm firefox so there's definitely issues on my end.

So, first of all, it's good, not great, but good. Transitions could use some work between each segment (Arl of Redcliffe, Mage thing... etc.). This is especially noticeable when the music abruptly stops after DAO, going into DA2.

Also, just a suggestion, but I'd love if another Dragon Age story teller could voice this (allowing for a choice of two). Leliana, I'm not a huge fan of Varric as it is, and I used to love the VA of Leliana especially during the storytelling segments. While it would probably be at big cost, I got to admit, I'd vastly prefer it, it has been proved that she didn't die if you killed her afterall.

The ISS also resets (as I'm sure you know), the Warden, his or her romance and every single new choice (Zevran also has an issue being dead). The problem also extends to the tapestry, as I found that the Warden would get changed in the story, and it would be changed in the tapestry. Also, Morrigan often gets reset to have a human child and trying to change it causes a dead Warden who killed the archdemon to be considered invalid. It asks (for me) to solve to Loghain killing the archdemon and the Warden being alive. It's troubling because the human child thing should only be possible (actually, it should be forced), if you are male and had a romance with Morrigan. The choice is inevitable.

Also, some choices that are invalid are allowed until one hits the ISS (most obvious is Connor being possessed, only possible if you are a mage). When one plays the ISS, the Warden gets changed, for example, but it doesn't popup the autosolver first. It seems to allow it UNTIL you hit the ISS. I've reported all of this in the Beta Feedback Tool.

We also need a pause button, and I'm in chrome and cannot edit choices.

Hey guys!

We're working on making the Warden/Hawke's more representative across the DA Keep. What we reeeally want to do is create a fun little 2D avatar creator so your Warden and Hawke are exactly how you'd like them to show up, however we still have lots to do to get ready for DA:I shipping so for now we're looking at a few easier options.

Hate to be a bit forward, but if we can't have something like that to atleast change skin colour, I'd ask if we could just not see the warden at all (maybe have an Aeducan sigil pic for noble), Hawke also having something like that would be preferable too. Right now, it feels like white is default and that doesn't sit right to me, not a little bit.

There are a couple of mistakes:

-Arl Eamon wasn't ill because of a demon possesing his son, it was poisoned by Jowan, an apostate

-Aveline was no "old friend" of the family. They actually met at leaving Lothering

A couple of ideas that could help:

-Button for full screen.

-Something to control the volume

As for Eamon, I believe it says that Connor made a deal to save Eamon, only it didn't cure him so that's correct. Jowan doesn't get a mention at all however (his name is nowhere in the Keep).

By the time this story is retold to us, it's after the fact, by which time... Aveline IS an old friend.
