Love the ISS.  I think the only bugs I found are the ones already mentioned (Alistair executing Loghain when he killed him in the duel, warden having OGB with Morrigan even when female, Meeran/Athenril switched).  I also suggested in the Keep feedback that the transition between DAO and DAII be smoother.

 

I ran it in both Firefox and IE11.  The ISS ran fine in both, although the Tapestry was squished in Firefox.  At first I couldn't get the Tapestry to come up at all in IE11 but after clearing out the history it displayed normally and the ISS played just fine.

I laughed when I logged out then back in again 

 

It reset my world state but not really it had several "corrections" as in: Make Alistair King change to Make Alistair King and Zeveran Alive and well change to Zeveran Alive and well 

 

Kinda weird but everything else is great!

...now here's everything that's wrong with it. lol :P

 

First two attempts appeared to stall somewhere around 'The Urn of Ashes'. Not sure if this was the cause, but after loading a different world state and playing through successfully, the previous one suddenly worked.

 

Also noted some of the same issues others are having: -

  • Some voice tracks appear to cut-off mid sentence.
  • Warden's appearance not properly representing class (Cousland Rogue displayed as Warrior in my case.)
  • In DA2 section, the smuggler/thieves slides appear to be displaying the opposite art.
  • Certain tiles appear to have been changed after playing ISS, whether locked or no.
  • At the end of the DA2 section, Hawke art appear to be a Mage Hawke, regardless of actual class.

 

Suggestions

 

Pause/Play, Skip fwd/back functions would be nice, as would optional subtitles, a volume slider and a fullscreen mode.

 

The transition between DAO & DA2 feels *very* abrupt. If the two sections are supposed to be distinctly separate, then perhaps something like a chapter (read: game) selection screen would be a better way to do it. Otherwise, if it's meant to flow seamlessly from DAO to DA2 (and presumably DAI) then some extra preamble dialogue would really help that.

After watching the ISS, when I returned to the Keep it wanted me to make some world state changes to my Warden Queen.

 

  • It kept my romance with Alistair but changed a few things. It wanted "Warden is Alistair's Queen" to be changed to "Warden & Alistair were not lovers".
  • To be a Queen my Warden of course needed to be alive, the Keep however wanted to change it to my Warden died killing the Archdemon (as it changed the OGB to not having happened, guess this is related to my warden being turned male during the ISS -- instead of it saying Alistair performed the ritual).

Those are all I've noticed so far. Will try my other world states to see if anything breaks in those.

I can't get ISS to work, pops up a ERROR 500 and then crashes. Google Chrome ;( NVM got it to work, had to turn off ADBLOCK PLUS. It's super buggy, when I change my decisions, Varric stops narrating and then the "video" tiles keep replaying the decision I changed it to 3-4 times, and then defaults to the original decisions.

Hello! Try logging in and out (dragonagekeep.com/logout) and make sure you've cleared your browser cache. Then you should be all good :)

The first time I watched the ISS if changed some of my choices as well. It'll didn't when I used it the next Four times.

Loved it except of some of the choices not being shown correctly and video is choppy on Firefox.

Will try again on Google Chrome next.

I switched over to my alt world state and ran the ISS on that and encountered a lot more issued. I don't know if it's because this one wasn't locked? I had several skips/missed lines of dialogue, but it continued to the end. When the ISS was finished it returned me to the tapestry, and had reset a ton of my choices to random stuff; I had to go through and fix a lot of them.

The switching that my castles dwarf female did the dark ritual with Morrigan happened in mine as well.  I looked at the edit choice screen at the battle of denirum and it only had three choices. "Warden performed the ritual with Morrigan." "alistiar slayed archdeamon" and "Logain slayed archdeamon"  you guys need to add Alistair and Logain as possible choices for the dark ritual.  That is why it keeps either reverting to male in a non locked state or saying that the female warden performed the dark ritual.

Another thing I noticed, though It's not ISS-related, is that on mobile I can't Still go over the choices shown in the screen.

Well, good things first:  I love the imagery!  The ISS is beautiful, and mixed with Varric's narration of events, it makes for a pretty enthralling experience, to hear your Warden's tale repeated back to you like a beloved or well-known legend.  However, I'm a little disappointed that after three times, I have not managed to get through the ISS without encountering a sound or story related bug :C

 

The first time I started up the ISS (using my default world state) I was able to get all the way to the anvil of the void arc (this was also the furthest I was able to get in the ISS out of my three attempts) before I started to experience issues.  First, Varric's narration ended, and I was left with a few images of the broken anvil set to the background music before my screen went black.  The music continued to play, so I kept the ISS playing for a few minutes before I realized Varric had not stopped narrating to up my suspense. :P

 

The second time I started the ISS (same world state) I only managed to get to the Redcliffe story arc before things started breaking.  First of all, a scenario where I'd chosen 'Connor lives' was switched to 'Connor possessed' (judging by the imaginary, anyway...), and secondly, Varric's narration stopped.  The music once again continued to play, however.

 

The third time I started, I got a little bit further than my second attempt, making it to the Urn of Sacred Ashes arc.  However, Varric's narration once again came to an abrupt end, and another story decision I made... SEEMED to have been changed?  My tapestry has an 'Untainted Urn' saved, but I was definitely shown an 'Tainted' urn in the ISS... however, it showed an Untainted urn shortly after... so maybe when the ISS has this breakdown, it just starts showing all possible options? D:

 

I don't think I'm going to be filling out any more bug reports today, just because my three failed attempts all seem to be the same issue?  and I don't want to spam you guys... :x

 

I'm going to keep trying to see if I can get through the ISS ONCE without issues.  Oh well, least I can say the background music is lovely. :3

Can anybody help me understand why we can only do the Yevhen quest if Nathaniel died? It's not a bug, I'm guessing? I'm going through all the new choices and was wondering if the new update would make me able to do the quest. I've always had Nathaniel live and remember doing that quest only once in my million playthroughs. I also see the troll dragon is still a thing? Hahah

 

Oh also why can't we kill Merrill's clan while still killing her at the end?

 

Suggesting here since I've already made a suggestion about it through the feedback option about it and it could already be in the making: More decisions about what happened in Awakening would be cool, like a mention of the companions (besides Oghren) and what ended up happening to them at the end.

 

Other than that the new choices appear to be working as intended! I will go through the other world states through the ISS now and report bugs.

 

Edit: The recruiting Oghren option seems to be gone? Is that intentional? I see it was switched to Awakening, but isn't that two different choices?

Found another "bug": playing the ISS changed my decision "Morrigan has a baby with Alistair" to "baby with warden". But my warden was female ...  :wacko:
So I changed back to "baby with Alistair" and I was forced to change Zevran topics in DA2 ... hmmm ...?

The autosolver for some reason always seems to target Zevran even though he has nothing to do with it. When I made my female warden go through the eluvian, it asked me about zevran (which leads into DA:2)
 

There are a couple of mistakes:
 -Arl Eamon wasn't ill because of a demon possesing his son, it was poisoned by Jowan, an apostate
 -Aveline was no "old friend" of the family. They actually met at leaving Lothering
 
A couple of ideas that could help:
-Button for full screen.
-Something to control the volume

Yeah, I was thinking that when Varric mentioned it. Maybe he should say she became a family friend?

If Nathaniel lives, his sister will talk to you at the market so Yevhen doesn't show up or you dont get to talk to him.

I have no idea how to make any choices during the ISS.  Any help here?

 

 

My first impressions, bugs and requests:

 

  • Subtitles would be welcomed, in english and other languages (if they're here, sorry, I can't see anything)
  • At some point, near the beginning, Varric stops talking but the music still plays. The screen goes grey soon after.
  • Connor storyline - at first, animations is ok (Connor has been saved, demon defeated. Varric tells me the truth), but then Varric stops talking and animation shows that Connor has been posessed- that's when the animation ends for me  (happened 3 times)
  • I still haven't seen the whole animation :(
  • What I saw was beautiful, I really like it :)
  • The music made me sleepy after some time (and I'm still trying to hear the whole story...   ;)  )

It is because you cannot do the Yevhen quest if Nathainal is alive.  it is an either/or thing.  You only get Yevhen's quest if you do not import a save that has Nathainal alive. If Nathainal is alive you get his quest instead.

Theres an edit choice button in the top left with a red line that moves through as Varric talks.

I had the same issue with the connor image.  this second time I played through it I clicked the edit button each time to make sure it was right and all the scenes triggered correctly.

I'm on Chrome: had no issue when I played my initial worldstates, but created a new one and tried to play it, and I have nothing after the image of Loghain in the beginning.  Will try all the refresh suggestions.

 

Also an important question: Are we allowed to share screenshots from the ISS or no?

These are also placeholder art assets? They look pretty good but at the same time given how DA2 you had scenes with Varric and Cassandra it's kinda weird not to see the dwarf...

 

 

otherwise my default world state went without a hitch.

I was going to test out the ISS but decided not to for now because of all the reports of choices being autochanged. But, I did notice with this latest release (or earlier?) that they're starting to add more Awakening choices! Yay!!!

Ok. Quick feedback.

 

The good:
1. It's great. Varric is the perfect narrator and it felt great listening to the story :).

2. It'll help greatly the people that didn't play DA Origins and DA2 to piece together the plot into one cohesive narrative.

3. While the animation is pretty simple it'll help make the feature more accessible to everyone.

 

What could use some polish:

1. Transition in narration between DA Origins and DA 2 seems off. There needs to be something in between that moves events from Origins' Warden to the perspective of Hawke. "It all started..." is just not enough and the whole transition doesn't feel "fluent".
 

 

Well said! Just a couple more points (some already mentioned)

 

2. Subtitles ARE welcome. Not necessary - narrating is perfect, pleasure to listen and very clear, but having subs never hurts.

3. Loud music. Slider would be welcome too (not possible, I understand) but can it be tuned down a little bit?

4. Some choices during ISS a bit surprising, like between "Izabella returned and was taken prisoner" and "Hawk battled Arishok". I understand it is the way to describe only world state (it's not about Izabella, but whether Arishok is alive or not) but those who played could battle Arishok after Izabella returned. Would be nice to rephrase it in the choices window to avoid confusion (VO remains the same anyway).
