Dubious about getting the PC version or the Xbox360 one.

Hello fellow EA and Bioware Staff, I have one issue with choosing the proper game format.

I both own a PC and a Xbox360, so the main problem is what's the better way to play DA:I.

For instance, I have a 32 bit Win 7 OS, 4GB RAM (3,25 available), an ATI Radeon Sapphire HD 5700 1GB DDR5, and my main question is if this will work for the game.

If not, I maybe might go for the X360 version, though I'd like to play the PC one. Is there any way to be sure I can play with the PC version without getting a non-functioning game or a butchered buggish gaming experience?

Thanks for your patience, for reading my concerns :)

You can try to buy it on Origin and see if the Origin game satisfaction guarantee is supported in your country. It basically lets you play the game for a given number of hours, and if you find the experience unsatisfactory, you can get a refund.

My country (Italy) actually supports the guarantee, I'll see how the specifics are told in the next 6th October!

Thank you ;-)

OP, you are going to have real trouble running DAI on your current PC. Your version of Windows is 32-bit and you only have a 1Gb graphics card. Simpy not going to cut it. You'd be lucky to get 30 frames per second on the lowest graphics settings.

Unless you are bent on playing with keyboard and mouse, I would recommend you rather get it for your console.

Or buy a new gaming PC if you have the money.

I agree with Dubya here.  With that kind of box, unfortunately it's going to make your experience very crunchy.  You can run it on your current rig, but it won't do the game justice.

For a base comparison, I pulled up the system requirements page for BF4, since it runs on the same engine.  You'd be able to hit the bare-minimum, but you'll be below recommended.  I'm not saying that this is exactly what the DA:I specs will look like (you'll probably at least need Win 7,) but this isn't a bad place to start.

If money is an issue, and you're not much of a PC gamer, then pick it up for console.  It would probably be more money and effort than it's worth to upgrade your rig if you don't PC game much.

RAM is Cheap. Get a 16 Gig chip and update your videocard to a 6700-6900 Series and you are good to go.

Upgrading your PC may indeed be the best way to go. A 1 GB graphics card is the bare minimum... but then again, that's double the memory of the entire XBox 360, I think. Also, keep in mind that oldgen consoles will most likely suffer from additional visual downgrades compared even to the lowest PC settings.

If you upgrade your RAM, make sure you get a 64bit OS... otherwise, it won't do you any good.

Yes, RAM is cheap, but RAM alone in this case it not going to help much.

They are going to release mininum specs quite soon for PC's so you can then check if your PC can run DAI then.

I'm a PC gamer, though I'm not going to pick up a 64 bit OS just for DA3.

I can bet on that, yes, however I can't stand another format disk on my PC, plus 150€ for the 64 bit version AND some big money for the new video card.

I'm screwed.

In that case, go with the console version.  You're not going to be missing out on anything in the game by taking that route either.  It's very difficult to mod the Frostbite engine, so there won't be any PC mods to be had for the foreseeable future anyway.

I know the 360 version will just be less populated with non-interactive NPCs anyways. So, should be alright to enjoy.

You can just reinstall Win 7 as 64 bit using your current key. No need to buy a new OS. You can download an ISO from one of Microsoft's partner distributors.

Note, I am assuming you have a 64 bit CPU that will work, but you never mentioned it.

I've got a similar GPU (a 5770) and it ran BF4 pretty OK.  Something like, medium, 1080p, solid 40ish FPS.

and just to throw another suggestion into the ring you could also consider trading in your 360 + games for an xbox one...... normally some good deals for those switching to new gen of console.....

I would stick to the PC, but you might want to wait til next week when they will reveal the requirements. Too bad that they didn't reveal at the walkthrough of  DAI with mr. Laidlaw and Mr. Lee what kind of computer they were running it on.

I would wait until October 6, when they release PC specs, then it will be clear how your PC will run it. After that, choose what platform you need more, and then either upgrade your PC or buy x360 version (with next gen in perspective).
