Almost everybody shares a good deal of love for this game.

If they could rate forums i'd give it a 9 and i just don't hand them out that simple. Call of duty and battlefield forums could learn from this, but what am I comparing.

Anyhow how do you feel about these forums? Are we on the interwebs right now? Not used to this mature manner.

From the forums I've been on:
League of Legends; Is league of legends. Terrible. People complaining about losing, op champs, thinking they're the best and everyone else sucks

Bodybuilding.com: The egos here are as big as the muscles here. Goes to a few peoples heads here...

Bioware forum: Occasional complaints about romance options or Me3 ending. Big deal, that is NOTHING compared to the constant stream of negativity other forums have

OP, you must be new here, or just not stumbled into the right topics. Having said that, things have gotten nicer as ME3 has been receding into the distance, and I've seen much worse places in general. I can have interesting debates with people, and some threads are nice to hang out in. So...maybe you have a point, but be careful with statements like "no trolls at all".

I signed up here long time ago, didn't stick around though... the ME3 thing, ick.

Also, MassEffect is why I joined, the MP specifically, but there was an MRA nutbag in the MP section... we didn't hit it off.

 

But I've been all up in Dragon Age lately, so thought I'd come back. And yeah, totally worth it.

Compared to other forums, yes it is very friendly. But there are definitely trolls and fighting. The difference is that there are a lot of mods and devs constantly around and are quick to stop any trolling and arguments before it gets out of control. It's pretty great.

While I had a good chuckle at this thread, I do have to admit that this forum is much, MUCH better than many others. I think its better moderated whereas other places just don't seem to care.

 

It's like a daycare; I would rather take my kids to the BSN Daycare than That Other Daycare.

 

The BSN Daycare has qualified individuals working there, the kids look happy even if they get in normal kid fights some of the time, the supervisors (moderators) pay attention to what's going on and put kids in time out if they break the clear standards for behavior, their are fun, and organized activities for the kids (like dragon hunts and Q&A's!).

 

That Other Daycare is crazy - the kids basically are in a big playroom all day with little supervision while the daycare people take lots of smoke breaks and chat about the other job they'd rather have and complain about the management. Even when kids break the rules, the moderators don't seem to care (i.e. even if there policies state things like no racial/homophobic/gender slurs, you still see them all the time and nobody does anything).

The BSN was pretty bad when DA2 came out.  It's far more positive now than it was then.  I really hope it stays the same when Inquisition is out.  I know there is no way this game is going to please everyone here on BSN.

Well, there are trolls on every forum ever. It just can't really be helped when everyone and their great grandma has Internet access. And this place goes through phases of general calmness and hype, and the hype brings the trolls back from the dead... I can say, however, that compared to most other forums I've been a member on, this place may not have less trolls, but it does have a greater amount of mature and kind people, and respectful discussion.
