No trolls at all.
Discussions done in a fairly matter.
People tend to be nice and helpfull.
Almost everybody shares a good deal of love for this game.
If they could rate forums i'd give it a 9 and i just don't hand them out that simple. Call of duty and battlefield forums could learn from this, but what am I comparing.
Anyhow how do you feel about these forums? Are we on the interwebs right now? Not used to this mature manner.
I am literally squeezing at how sweet this post is. This is more adorable than a pile of baby bunnies kissing baby puppies.
Never change. And if you do, don't become one of those people who thinks their opinion is more valid than other people's feelings

In general the moderation has been better since the new site launched.
That could very well be true. I was a lot more active here from 2010 - 2012. Back when they shut down a whole sub-forum because they couldn't handle the perps! lol
Personally, I don't think a thread should ever be closed, unless the original post was a blatant rule violation. If other posters decide to crap on the OPs thread, it's they who should suffer the consequences. If other posters go off-topic, who really cares? Frankly, forums are less a source of information and more an outlet for discussion on various related topics.

Guys, he has a point.
From the forums I've been on:
League of Legends; Is league of legends. Terrible. People complaining about losing, op champs, thinking they're the best and everyone else sucksBodybuilding.com: The egos here are as big as the muscles here. Goes to a few peoples heads here...
Bioware forum: Occasional complaints about romance options or Me3 ending. Big deal, that is NOTHING compared to the constant stream of negativity other forums have
This is because comparing to those other forums BSN is considerably smaller and thus easier for the moderators to delete any unsavoury threads/posts. Oh, and having no pvp always helps.

I find the posters here more agreeable than the moderators... Then again, ever since Chris Priestly got terminated, the forums may as well have gone from a police state to a place of sunshine and rainbows. Feels so good. Karma's a ***** ain't it?

I agree on some points in your post. Especially when they closed ME3's Character and Romance Sector, claiming that it was too hard to moderate ( while it's their job to do so)

With no major release in the recent past, it's fairly quiet here. So it's generally only Bioware fanboys and fangirls keeping the forums alive during these quiet spells.
The masses will return like a "plague of locusts" when Inquisition hits the shelves.
Not that I'm saying Bioware forums are especially toxic. But we have our share, just like any internet space.
I corrected that for you. ![]()

Is it wrong of me to secretly hope that DA:I would suck so that I could see BSN explodes and be engulfed in flame again?

I've been around BSN since early 2010, and while the forums have had their dark times (after DA2 released and then REALLY after ME3), there's also some great discussion to be had and genuinely nice people you will meet. If you look for the positives, you will certainly find them. ![]()
Also, the devs interact a great deal with us both on the forums and twitter and are always friendly and helpful. I think the BioWare fandom is really lucky and I'm proud to be part of it. ![]()

If you think there's no troll. It's because they're ninja troll. Striking in the shadow and leaving without any trace of their passage.

it was embarrassing tbh, oh and the sweat thing.......I really wish I was on BSN when the ME3 endings first came out. The sheer magnitude of that shitstorm must have been glorious!
Well, tbh chris earned a lot of hate. I do miss ninja stan, though. But the dragon age forums have always been more civil than me's forums.I find the posters here more agreeable than the moderators... Then again, ever since Chris Priestly got terminated, the forums may as well have gone from a police state to a place of sunshine and rainbows. Feels so good. Karma's a ***** ain't it?

Only negative people Ive seen on this forum these last months is the ones bashing the OP here for being wrong/troll. Which is kinda ironic.

OP has a point, on a personal experience, this is the only game forum I check out. It's due to people actually being passionate about the games and honestly some of the discussions were fantastic (indoctrination theory was some of the best times i've ever had here, some of you guys are very creative). There have been very rough times (ME3 fiasco). Some negative things you will definitely encounter A) Delusional bioware fans
people who are never satisfied C) occasional trolls D) fans who are unappreciative.

Already happened twice when DA2 and ME3 came out. Third time the charm or something?

When i came here, I was expecting it to be a contentious racist, sexist, homophobic hellpit of incessant nitpicking complaints and entitled, incoherent yelling. I am pretty pleased it's only like...30% that, and there are actually a lot of cool people and good conversations. So....I don't know if it' the BEST forum ever, but it cleared the "irredeemably awful" barrier, and that's enough for me?

In comparison to the Creative Assembly forums, the BSN is positively civilised. A year after release and people are still carping on about 'cut features' when they were never intended to be in the game in the first place (i.e. family trees). Although the Rome 2 screenshot thread and some of the historical discussions are fun and interesting.
I've always enjoyed the lore discussions on here in both the ME and DA forums.

It does not seem to work for me, is there a special trick I'm missing? Just add the user and their posts should vanish right? Don't need to log out or anything?
Edit: got it working thanks, just gotta click the show buttons next to the user names! ![]()
