She is a main character in The Calling, she appears at the end of Asunder too and plays a short but major role.

Spoilerand resident special snowflake.
I'd argue she'd gone beyond special snowflake category by now.

Fiona is an elf mage, former slave, turned Grey Warden, cured of the Taint, a dragon king's lover, mother of another, who ran from the Grey Wardens without consequences, became Grand Enchanter and is now a freedom fighter. Have I already mentioned she was your mentor's best friend?

We can add "Survived the Breach" to that list too, apparently.

Apparently only the Player can be a snowflake. According to you guys anyway.
Uh no. I fully acknowledge the PC tends to be a Sue. But it tends to come with the territory. (and even then our damn warden doesn't get a get out of jail free card from the damn blight. When you're more of a sue then the protagonist that's a damn feat).

The player being somewhat of a sue is expected and accepted. We are, after all, supposed to form a group capable of putting an end to a civil war in the most powerful empire in the world while solving ethnic conflicts spanning millenia and being capable of going toe to toe against the most powerful demons in the Fade and giant fire breathing flying lizard weighing tons.
When you have a character out-Sueing the PC, then we have a problem.
Fiona is ridiculous, period.

But these characters usually serve a greater purpose. Mind you she is not anymore sue than Andraste. Even Daenerys who people think is a sue has been saved and kept by Martin (like the psycho he is) to serve a greater purpose, do not doubt it. All of them usually die a martyr's death in the end though so Fiona will most like die so you should be happy.

Remember though, in one eventuality, the mages end up working with the Venatori, and it was not made clear if you had chosen to side with the mages or Templars in that possible world. If they work for the Venatori, I want to know why and I want all the information they can give me. Afterwards, they have my permission to die by my hand.

Saying she's 'only' as Sue as Andraste is... not a point in her favour. Remember, most of the stories around Andraste are just that: Stories. We don't know how many -if any- are true, and in what way those who are true have been embellished.
Each of her individual accomplishments and backgrounds is already a big deal worth a story of its own. But the way they are all crammed on Fiona and forced to work "because its Fiona so shut up" is just... too much. There are several characters worth of story in Fiona, they should have been several characters.
