I wonder if Templars get their weapons blessed.
Cassandra was using a 'Blessed Blades' skill in one of the latest demos, I'm guessing that's from the new and improved Templar tree. If you just meant normal swords, I would have thought it might be part of the ceremony when they take their vows.

You know i have a thing for militant hard asses. the kind that can still create a victory even outnumbered or make their enemies pay dearly in glorious last stands. the kind of soldiers that have great discipline and courage to face and threat and the skill and moxy to back it up their bad ass boast.
And the templars simply dont have that. they for the most part sit all day watching mages and being stoned on lyrium.

Seems you enjoy fiction then.

*cough* Spartans *cough* While Hollywood has exaggerated the "Last Stand of 300" there is still historical evidence that the Spartans were indeed one of the few fighting the Persians at the end of that fateful battle.

._. And?
Apart from conjecture about the number of men they felled, there has never been a definite measure of their success.
The only accounts of the battle were penned centuries later and are in poetry and mythos.

I don't claim they were amazing, god-like men. I don't even like the Spartans or their culture...more of an Athans kind of person, lol! However, their sacrifices allowed for enough time for Athens to prepare and strike back.
History is made up of myths and the same goes for Science. Science is only a far more refined form of a myth, pretty much everything has some link back to a myth. Like the City of Troy.

That day.
Greece survived Perisa only to fall to Rome.
Remember that bit of history.

And the Norse survived pretty much everyone until the Crusades/Christians. Cultures rise and fall as we all know, yet that does not diminish the actions of those in the past who sacrificed themselves to protect their lands even if it was shorterm. Or the accomplishments those cultures achieved. At least that is the way I view things. ![]()
What would be a Pro-Circle Templars end game be? Reconstruction of the Circles and return things to as they were, maybe much stricter?

True but those extra years of freedom were of paramount importance for western civilization.
Even though the battles Salamis and Plataea deserve much more credit than their last stand.

How about: game over the elder one wins since you spend to much time wasting on trivial matters instead of dealing with the problem at hand

It could be.
Of course, if this extra strictness doesn't extend to both parties, you'd only be kicking the can down the road.

Not the worlds greatest comparison....In reality the 300 man personal guard of King Leonidas....only approximatelly 10% of the total army at Thermopylae. Yet the ones remembered are the ones wearing red with great press agents,,,,and Hollywood.

I resorted to Blood-Magic to defeat him. The Elder One.
Then I resorted to Blood-Magic, erasing everyone's memory of me resorting to Blood-Magic.
I'm a hero.
I am totally going to have a templar inquisitor in one of my play throughs.
The question is, do i choose a Qunari for the melee defence bonus, or do i choose a human whose background relates to the order, and they also get an extra skill talent?
My human will use a two handed weapon, the qunari weapon and shield.
Playing an Andrastian Qunari Templar is the highest form of HERESY. Roll Human.
Is it? The Qunari is a merc and not of the Qun religion.Playing an Andrastian Qunari Templar is the highest form of HERESY. Roll Human.
The biggest advantage the Templars have over the Mages is their recruitment. Anyone, given the right training can become a Templar, whereas Mages are born. This gives them a numerical and racial advantage. While it is stated that the Templars accept other races, I have yet to see a Dwarf, Elf or even Qunari Templar. However the possibility does exist.

That's very true. Perverts and alike can join too.
I always wondered what happens if a mage becomes a templar, that is a possibility too. Specially the arcane warriors and knight enchanters can have an opportunity.

And for mages they don't ven have to apply. They just need to be born!
Honestly... Is that REALLY one of your greatest attacks against the Templars? Because, it is just.... Weak...

Maybe it's because there's not much Dwarf, elf, and Qunari who really converts to devout Andrastian ? I mean to be a templar usually they start training young and it's usually devout people.
When it should be possible for a convert to be templar, I can easily imagine that surface dwarfs still incline to believe on their Paragons & Ancestors, there is rarely any Qunari turned devout Andrastians, and maybe city-elf still feels resentment over "shemlen religion" that had put them into misery for generations. I've seen a dwarven Chantry priest in DA:O though (brother Burkel), so it should be possible that dwarven templars might exist somewhere.
Anyway even I always play as mage (moderate) I support both the templar order and mage freedom in moderate ways. I am entirely agree with Ser Thrask (from DA2) point of view that Mages and Templars should work together instead of against each other. I have great respect of how Knight Commander Gregoir and First Enchanter Irving works together.
Let's just say that in very single faction that exist in Thedas, corruption happens to some. There are corrupt templars surely as well as there are corrupt mages and corrupt wardens and even corrupt Seeker.
As a mage in DA:I I look forward to try putting this ideal to work if possible ![]()

If I am not mistaken, the new novel Last Flight did include a dwarven Templar. And there has been mention on the forums about Elven Templars aswell. And we did see that Qunari in Seeker armor in WoT. So the concept of non-human Templars isn't entirely alien.
