Let's not make this into a "tempest in a teapot", It happened and unfortunate as it is, I don't  think it will spoil my experience with the new game.  It's been a long wait for this game, and some people are hungry for any info, but I would rather wait until I can play it, and I won't go looking for any spoilers, here, or anywhere else.

Fortunately, I heard about it and as of yet havent come across those spoilers and knock on wood, i never will.

 

On a side note, i would never post anything spoiler related as its not fair on other fans. I would only post a warning if i had found a spoiler.

I shed a couple tears when my poor eyes accidentally saw a few of the leaks on tumblr. Now I have shunned tumblr and any other dragon age related thing except for these forums until I beat the game.

The kindle edition on Amazon is also accessible to buy and read now. So the russian distributor isn't the only one to send it out early.

Yesterdays leaks were from people who had pre-ordered the book in kindle format. It was released at midnight by Amazon US, UK and FR (that I know of). The distribution error lies with marketing, not the people who genuinely ordered the book and received it. This has since been rectified by Amazon, and the Kindle version taken off sale until 18th November.  Those of us in Europe who did pre-order do of course own a legitimate copy.

 

However posting spoilers of any sort from the book is just rude to other players

 

I'd worry more about the youtuber video leak of the Red Templar yesterday rather than concept art...

so far i been doing okay with avoiding major spoilers havent come across any to date unless of course BioWare does it then  i am safe, as for the artbook thats just wrong for them to release it they cant read dates of when its supposed to go on the street?

I came across a spoiler on tumblr and I was so angry at the person who posted it. I just hope what I saw didn't actually spoil a big plot thing for me. I think I need a media blackout until the game comes out.

sure...you were so upset about it that you were deliberately looking for it.  anyone saying they are upset about spoilers are obviously either lying or just too dumb for the internet.  Its like the idea of click bait hasn't sunken in yet.

Honestly, I knew about the leak, but I kept as far away from them as possible. 

Not simply because I'm waiting for the game, but because I have the book pre-ordered. 
What a waste it would be to know what was already on the pages. I'm willing to keep everything a surprise.

Remember everyone--just because you have access to material does not mean you have the right to distribute it. Regardless of where you found the original material or what the intent is in sharing it, no one has the right to copy it unless explicitly told so by EA.

(I am not an employee of EA, but I work with copyright law in publishig and take the topic very seriously. Obviously.)

Actually I ran into one on Tumblr.  From the artbook.  No spoiler or anything.  Just out there for people to see.  So yes, they are out there and you can stumble on them.

There are many exceptions to it. So long as you give credits properly and make no money they cant push any lawsuits. It is disrespectful and they can have it removed or deleted. But no lawsuits or the like. The internet is even harder to handle, since it is basically meant for the free exchange of other peoples idea.

You have absolutely no understanding of copyright law, and your woefully mistaken "advice" will only get others in trouble.  There are only a very few exceptions that fall under "fair use", and "but I gave credit" is not one of them. 

 

Stick to gaming, since playing internet lawyer is obviously not your strength.

Sucks that these leaks have to happen all the time. i hope no one trying to stay away from spoilerific stuff accidentally saw some of this stuff. I've had some things spoiled for me in the past (mostly post launch) and it is really frustrating when you learn something you didn't know just buy going into a comment section or something similar.

Why did you look at them? Unlike the art spoilers I've found the achievements list fairly easy to avoid.

I didn't look for them or read through the whole list. I was on tumblr, and someone had made them a photoset with some pictures attached, and didn't tag it as spoilers. I caught a glimpse of like one of the more important ones.

Ah, yeah. I've been avoiding tumblr since the artbook leak. I forgot there were spoilerific screens released with the achievements.
