so i'm wondering, if you don't die at the end of me2 is there any option to play your same file after the end game? or is it like me1 where u need to do everything you want before you end the game?
i know this is me1 discussion but me2 forum isnt open yet and this post has spoilers?

Could someone please explain to me the whole consequences of dying in ME2 to me. Does it impact on your ability to play through again? Is it like ME1 where you just reload and shoot some more or will it mess up my ME3 experience if I die even once in ME2?

By "death", they mean at the end of the game, depending on your choices throughout the game and such, your character and/or some of your squadmates may die. Some of it involves how you treat your squadmates...it might all boil down to how well your squad likes you and whether they follow you into the final battle.
On a side note, I hope this isn't some sort of big Paragon vs. Renegade decision; if you're the Paragon, you sacrifice you and your squad, if you're the Renegade, you sacrifice some other people.

So if I "die" at the end of ME2, will that mean that I cannot play through that section again? Also, will that mean that ME3 will not be available for me to import my ME2 save into, or will it simply mean that Shep will no longer be playable, and a new character will be introduced?

We don't know. It might be that you get to make a specific decision towards the end that will decide (in that case, you can load before the save and redo it), but it might also be something that accumulates over the entire game.
As to your second question, the latter of the three suppositions is correct.
