Now, I posted elvish nicknames for the companions and advisers on the Elven Support Thread, but the post quickly got smothered under all the negativity and arguments so I never got to hear anyone's thoughts on it.

 

Basically, I had an idea to come up with elvish nicknames for the companions and advisers and headcanon that my f!Dalish, Lin'Mi, referred to them by those names.

 

Here they are:

well, if you want a name for a weapon, i plan on making my two handed sword called "no questions asked"

Those are pretty good, Gamer!  They all suit the characters based on what we know about them so far.   I especially like "writing spirit." xD

 

I have to be honest, I never really thought about naming my weapons something from the elven language... it's an interesting idea though.  I'll see if the wiki has anything interesting, but I will probably just go with "Staff of Blah blah,"  "Staff of Somethingoranother..."  Staves just don't mean much to me compared with swords, so I doubt I'll spend any time trying to come up with decent names for them...

Those names are cool. I wish we could actually give names to companions. Maybe they'll let us call our LIs an elvish term of endearment at least, or let us use general friendly elvish terms when speaking to companions. 

 

As for weapons...I'll probably use really bad puns or something mildly inappropriate that causes the eyes to roll for names.

Hmm....maybe I'll name her staff Bellanaris (Eternity) sounds pretty epic

Those names are cool. I wish we could actually give names to companions. Maybe they'll let us call our LIs an elvish term of endearment at least, or let us use general friendly elvish terms when speaking to companions.

I totally hope we get to call our chosen LI lethallan/lethallin. I also hope my Elf Inquisitor has some words in elven that are new to the repertoire we currently have.

I'm calling a Maul in my LazyQuisitor playthrough 'Diplomacy' so I can assure Josephine I will use diplomacy on my enemies.

 

As for elven names... well, I'm thinking of naming a fire-based mage staff Uthvunin.
