I'm gonna get a lot of "I don't care that he's gay" 's on here, which is good. But then people say that Bioware is either
A. Pandering to the LGBT Community
or
B. Trying to be "social justice clowns".
Is there a reason people complain about Dorian being gay and not Sera? It just seems like Bioware mentions it once, the Media mention it a lot, and then people complain about things being shoved down their throat. Why?
Because in some the media is more accepting of lesbian sex and stuff than gay sex and stuff.
Now, it's certainly true that the media doesn't like the idea of long term lesbian relationships, but in announcing who is romancable they focused on the sex and brief romance side of things. Like in ME3, where the controversy wasn't that you could have gay relationships, but that you can have sex with cortez. At least, that was the biggest gay controversy in it all, when that romance vid was leaked.
It's the same reasoning why the cortez sex scene on youtube has way more dislikes than the traynor shower scene; homophobes are hypocrites through and through most of the time.
Because:
lesbian=sexy
Gay male=gross corruption of youth and morals
Though to be honest, I haven't heard any rampage about Dorian. It also could be that haters who wanted to romance Dorian and can't. Haha
There was some when Gaider announced it off-hand in his profile interview. He was accused of shoving homosexuality down people's throats.

I'll admit that i did too but it wasn't because she's gay but because it meant there wouldn't be any FEMALE elf LI's for male inquisitors.

That's another thing Kasen. Calling someone out on their ignorance isn't being a "social justice wariror", and It's a bit childish for people say that everytime people are confronted when they have their foot in their mouth.

That's as silly as being specifically upset that there's no female qunari romance option for lesbians, or no exclusive male dwarf romance for male human mages.

That said, I do think there's a bit of the "overzealous social justice warrior" stuff in the forums. Not a lot, but it is there... (one long thread about the male/female ratio not being exactly 50/50 comes to mind)
I made that thread on my other account, and it was asking for the female/male ratio to be roughly (ROUGHLY) 20% women and 80% men in armies as opposed to all men, due to the fact that lorewise women are supposed to have reasonable representation in armies.
It was also saying there should also be roughly (ROUGHLY) 50% women in mage factions, as opposed to 100% men, due to the fact that gender has no bearing one one's ability to cast magic.
Please don't put words in peoples mouths.
That kind of stuff is actually very common with BVHs. They instinctively think they don't like something so convince themselves that the people are asking for more than they actually are and trying to make everything clinical.
Some (conservative) people are more accepting to lesbians than gays which is ridiculous and simply homophopic. There is no other words to describe it. The truth is that many straight male players (which still is hugest portion of players of console games though only part of them are like this) don't mind lesbians cause it's hot, it's what they see in porn etc. but they mind gays and especially if gay or bi guy is hitting on them (like Anders in DA2).

I don't see it that way because the elf inquisitor is Dalish and I had planned on playing a traditional Dalish inquisitor but because of the views of the dalish, romancing a non elf would be taboo.. so my planned male Dalish is now forever alone.

I wouldn't like a woman hitting on me, but I'm not going to act aggressive over it. They need to grow a pair and realize that no-one is forcing them to pursue a romance with a character of the same sex and romances can easily be rejected. It's really that simple.

I think it's both. In seeing lesbians more acceptable cause it's two girls is sexist but freaking out cause there is gay character in the game is homophopic to me.
