So, is anyone here excited about this?

Most of the reviews are positive (you can see the scores here), with the exception of IGN, Polygon and Gamesradar. The game is praised as very atmospheric and tense. The Alien's AI is also said to be very unpredictable, providing some tense moments as the creature has no set path and randomly appears in various places. Common complaint seems to be the game's 15 hour lenght since it gets very tedious of playing hide and seek with the xeno for that long. The unscripted AI has also received some complaints.

You cannot fight the alien as it can chase you down and kill you instantly. There are ways to stun the xeno and you can track it with the motion tracker, but if you're too close it will hear the beeps and find you. Some screenshots show a flamethrower, but it hasn't been mentioned much. Apparently, there's also combat with synths and humans.

Honestly, it looks fairly good. Atleast better than most garbage Alien related games. What do you think?

Check out Jim Sterling's video for some gameplay.

GamesRader gave the game 4.5 out of 5, I'd say that's pretty positive. Also *pushes up glasses* it's Isolation not Isoliation.

Yeah I've been thinking about purchasing it. It looks atmospheric from what I've seen and like a true survival horror experience.

A game about playing cat and mouse and get scared, without doing much? No thanks.

I suggest you keep your money for The Vanishing of Ethan Carter or Borderlands the Pre-Sequel.

Borderlands > ... > ME3 > Destiny > Your favorite retard video game

I'd rather play this Alien game (from the looks/sound of it).... than any of that

Been reading some reviews on sites I haven't blocked, just finished Cinemablend's. I tried to have some friends look into it at Pax but they said the line for it was a nightmare, I think everyone has been curious about how this game would turn out. The gist I got from reviews... The game is love it or hate it, unforgivable gameplay, unhelpful save system, but fun, and twenty some hours long, but story is weak. I think it's looking pretty good, I'm looking forward to playing it.

Still not the thing to play when you want to feel tension and/or fear.

While I´ll probably wait for the price drop, I´ll get this if there aren´t any big wallbangers in the plot. Not that concerned about story being somehow weak, it´s based on a film which in the end is just a monster killing people who wander appart from each other for better or worse reasons.

Got it today. Got a little way in - basically I (Amanda) woke up. I'm kinda impressed by the visuals so far.

After I'm done with Shadow of Mordor this is on the consideration list.

Even if I don't buy it soon, i'll get it once there's a price drop.

I'm definitely getting this, though not right away, got a lot of stuff to play, so it'll have to wait.

Still, very interested in it.

Even Wolfenstein:TNO didn't seem to have replayability. I really don't know about this inferior game.

I was just going to order this, but reviews don't make it seem appealing. Lots of meandering and hitting switches apparently. I don't need action heavy, but was hoping the exploration and adventure was engaging at least.

I decided to order that new Sherlock Holmes title instead. Those are underrated games in general.

Best Sherlock Holmes game, btw was the Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes... which contained the Curse of the Serrated Scalpel and the Curse of the Rose Tattoo.

For a brief moment I thought my PS3 might die on me... But the game is running great so far, & it looks amazing. I haven't found the alien yet, but I'm liking the environments. Makes me feel like drawing a bit. But work calls. I'll probably get back to the game & meet the alien at an appropriately late hour tonight.

I remember Lost Files. That was the heyday for adventure games.

Still have a love for adventure, which is why I jumped at the chance for this new one (Crime & Punishments). There needs to be more adventure titles in general. I hope the success of Walking Dead encourages more developers to get into making them again.

Anyways, I might get Alien Isolation when it drops in price a little (maybe I'd get it at $40).
