Just beat Mass Effect 1 and am trying to load the save on Mass Effect 2 but nothing shows up when I click Import ME1 Character.  If it matters, my ME1 character is from Steam while my ME2 is retail.

Before people go flying off the handle, I can produce proof that I OWN the game and this is not a pirated copy.
