Uh, no :D Even if I only play on Nightmare both in DA: O and DA2, familiarizing myself with the mechanics before throwing myself infront of BLOODY CARNAGE seems wiser.

True but if you are a Qunari and you have Iron Bull  throwing yourself in front of BLOODY CARNAGE seems better :P.

EDIT: Plus if you can end the game in Nightmare the rest of difficulties should feel real easy :o

HMm, I like to finish the story at a relative pace so I start on normal and upgrade to hard on my first playthrough, depending on how hard it is.

Second playthrough is Hard or Nightmare depending on what happens in my first playthrough.

DA:I is released on consoles so yes.
If you want to be even more casual you can even lower the difficulty to normal or even easy :)

I seriously doubt you'll have problems completing the game on easy, even if you would TRY to fail.

Remember also that in this game enemies are not leveled. Which means, that if you find a specific mission too challenging for you, you can just wait and do it later outleveling them and just crushing them.

You get something friendly, if you turn on the friendly fire option.

@ OP - As one that lacked eye-hand coordination even before I had a stroke, I can safely say that the DA series is one of the easier games to manage, even on higher Difficulty settings. DA has been easier than the ME series and SWTOR; no troubles are anticipated for DAI other than DA-MP.

Generally, a lot of care and thought seems to go into Bioware game UI and mechanics, and they have been recognized for this in such non-Pause games like SWTOR. I am hoping that this carries across to DA-MP, so I may be able to enjoy every aspect of the game, if possible. While I hit a glass ceiling in SWTOR, it was at End game content, so I still was able to enjoy the stories told until then, and I played solo.

Casual difficulty in dragon age games is a literal cakewalk. You'll be fine.

Ha not for me it's not... DA2 was ok, Origins felt hard as hell first time through, i remember having to back track through the deep roads after hitting a broodmother sized brick wall.

Its easy for me in later playthroughs... but i did struggle before i truly understood the game.

Oh k... I'll admit my first playthrough of Dragon Age Origins wasn't a "cakewalk", but proceeding playthroughs are beaten with ease, however I've never spent the time to complete a playthrough of nightmare of either game, just individual bosses, however I am very much pumped to make my first playthrough of Dragon Age inquisition a nightmare playthrough. Still questioned by weather to keep friendly fire on..
