Only to get around a bug
On the first playthrough, unlikely.
On subsequent playthroughs, if something ends up being the DA:I equivalent of planet scanning I might decide to skip it.
I might use it to take away XP, if a completionist playthrough makes you too over-levelled for the combat to be interesting.

God do I know what that feels like.
Perhaps on later playthroughs, but never on the first time through.

Oh god planet scanning.
Yeah that give me a horde of resources cheat was so lovely.
Been gaming since '75, including 2800+ hrs in Skyrim; hardly new. And though my skills may be in question, one does not seem to need them to play many RPG's. And since these are a solo games, it ain't cheating; my rules. Simple as that.
MOTHER OF GOD, you have me beat bro! I only have 2250 hours in Skyrim!
Erhm....but to get back on topic....I can't remember if console commands were confirmed or deconfirmed by the devs yet. I don't think they were. I believe the hope is still alive.

...and who are you to dictate how people choose to experience their singleplayer games? Grow up.
Not in the first playthrough unless I absolutely have to (re doing a decision whether its looks, specs and such), later playthroughs probably.
Oh god planet scanning.

No Console Commands there; simply have a hand printed list of locations which allows me to speed through space until the next Mission. Not a fan of most mini-games, either.
I save edited my 360 game for the resources. **** the police.

Yeah I was too lazy for that XD Numpad 0 and I was done.
It took me a few playthroughs before I was able to play through ME2 on normal without cheats. And I was only able to manage it as infiltrator. That cloak saved my butt so many times.
Least they unnerfed biotics in ME3. That was horrible =/
The last comment I read was there are commands, as Devs need them for testing the game. What is still unconfirmed is whether they will be made available for the Players.
Well, clearly they should have them available for the players....if nothing else for recompense for the lackluster qunari hair options.
I dern sure will! But only on my second character, probably.
I hate being limited by inventory size, and I like having a bunch of gold to spend on what I want, when I want.
I only use console commands if I'm stuck in a Bethesda/Obsidian game - and I mean actually being stuck in the ground or stuck in an object due to some ridiculous bug. Then I'll try to teleport out if I can.
I don't like cheating my way through a game, so I won't give myself free items or otherwise abuse the system.
If other people want to give themselves 500,000,000 health potions, I don't have a problem with it - it's just that for my own game, I really prefer having things be a challenge the first time out.
As has been said above, if they are there and I hit a game bug, I will use them to fix the problem. Otherwise, not on the first run-through. Later run throughs are a possibility if there is a mandatory puzzle that is tedious or an area that's dull. They've promised no more Towers of Hanoiance, but there are other puzzles/areas/quests that might not be worth the playtime the second (or third or fourth or fifth) time around.
Oh god....the puzzles from Mark of the Assassin still give me nightmares.
Whether or not I use console commands depend on whether or not there's anything tedious or badly designed that I don't want to deal with. Some people have mentioned planet scanning in ME2. I also used used the console to respec auto-leveled abilities in Origins (which I later got a mod to do), and to skip the Arishok duel in DA2.
Well I was going to abuse Leliana if she was available but they're telling me no. ![]()
Edit appearance if necessary.
I abuse the console for appearance changes, that's it.
I fool around with other stuff with it when I want to specifically test something (jump to a specific questline, turn on/off a romance, killallhostiles to get to a specific location quickly), but I never break the game on an actual playthrough.
It'll remain the same should we even have a console for this game.
Not unless I run into a bug that can't be fixed any other way. Once I've been playing a couple years and I'm spoiled rotten, maybe. So many of those console commands could do bad thngs if you didn't know what to expect, I really don't want to have to go that route. I know somebody has to be the first - the one to say, "you know, if you run party picker before you've recruited everyone you miss out on key dialogues," but it won't be me, this time.
