Cassandra and Varric are probably first. Viv is probably an early option and necessary to continue the plot after a pretty short time in, but you might be able to screw around and get a few of the others if you take their sidequests before doing her main quest.
First party members speculation

Cassandra, Solas, and Varric are climbing the snowy mountain with the Inquisitor on the way to Skyhold in that cutscene we've seen a few times. I think they are the first companions.

As most seem to say I agree that Cass, Varric and Solas are probably the first companions and you meet very early. Party members I can see being available pre-skyhold (or shortly after getting it) are Cole, Blackwall and Dorian. Cole seems like he'll join anyone who is helping people. Dorian feels like he'll be seeking any information and just so happens to run into the early inquisition. I get the feeling Blackwall was already aware of the problem in Orlas and had already made a move to help/do something.
Right after you get Skyhold but still a hunk of junk (or the major quest after that) everyone else is available since I feel you need a bit of cred to get the other three. From their profiles it sounds like they had to hear about the inquisition gaining a reputation to even bat them an eye.

To me, the third party member comes down to one of two options, given that I think they will give us a mage to round out the initial party. Since Vivienne is out having a ball in Orlais, that leaves us with Solas or Dorian. I'm leaning towards Dorian due to three different shots in the Enemy of Thedas Trailer:
First: At 0.26, we see Dorian talking to the Inquisitor and Cullen in a cold climate(And wearing a smashing red robe ensemble). We know that before the Inquisition gets Skyhold, it has to set up bade in Haven, the village the Warden and company visited in DA:O. The environment Dorian is standing in looks very similar to the cold, snow-filled Haven I remember. He's also describing the Venatori and Elder One, enemies that it would be good for us to hear about early in the game, since they are probably our first, and primary, antagonists.
Second: Right after that, we see the Inquisitor, Cassandra, Varric and a mage that looks an awful lot like Dorian in that red robes running into a stronghold and closing the double doors to escape an oncoming dragon. My guess: This is the party investigating Skyhold before the Inquisitor can set it up as a base. So this seems to show us the first party we get.
Third: At 0:57, we see the same party once more. Cassandra, Varric and Dorian, this time with the ground moving under their feet and Dorian falling to the ground. An entire castle seems to be crumbling in front of them. Good times. The fact that they show this exact same party twice indicates to me that they are the early party members.
Now, IF I'm right, here's the best/worst part: Male Inquisitors get both of their exclusive romances right out the gate. They can be with the Inquisitor for almost the entire game. Awesome. My Lady Inquisitors will just have to show some patience. Dang.

My guess is Cassandra, Varric, Vivienne

Remember that we didn't start with a full party in Origins either. Once we got to Ostagar we had Alistair and some generics and maybe dog if playing a Cousland.
The way I see it: we'll start with Cassandra (first warrior) and Varric (first rogue) since they are travelling together. My guess would be that Solas will be our first mage. I read somewhere that he would seek us out.
It would make more sense for Vivienne to be the mage we start with since she might have been on her way when the summit explodes. Solas sounds like he'd seek us out after the reputation of the inquisition was a bit more well known.

Cassandra first, followed by Varric and Solas.

But Vivienne throws the Inquisitor a party to get their attention and she doesn't seem the type to do that for a startup group hanging out in Haven. I'm thinking we might not get Vivienne until we complete one major event in game sorta like how Zevran didn't come along until we completed a major plotline.

Ah, I thought thats a party she threw as part of the inquisition, not to invite the inquisition to introduce herself. In which case, it would make sense for Solas to join early since he is a fade expert.

All I know is I'll be looking up how to get Dorian as early as possible. That's the only spoiler I want (well maybe of all of them so I don't miss out/get them right at the very end, but mostly just Dorian). So I'm hoping it's Cass/Varric/Dorian, though I agree that Solas probably makes sense. Here's hoping Caston's theory is correct!

Actually if there is a third companion who we would collect as part of the story before we can choose our own paths, I would assume it would be either Blackwall, Cole or Solas as in the demo Cameron went through at Gamescom those three as well as Varric and Cass were the only ones in his party selection screen.

Well, we've seen Varric and Cass and Vivienne as a team as well. I wouldn't put much weight in the demos we've seen since we have no idea how long into the game they take place.
Now that I think of it, Solas is, in one of the trailers, holding the inquisitors hand up to a fade tear. Perhaps he helps teach the inquisitor about his power to seal the tears. In which case it would make sense for him to join the party early.

My mass speculation on when everyone appears:
Cass will reach us first after the boom with Varric tagging along.
Solas will appear shortly after, obviously noting the fade breach and coming along as a rift-closing tutorial.
Dorian will make its appearance soon when people start discovering the protagonist survived the boom and to explain a bit more what's going on.
Cole will appear when templars start actively hunting down the protagonist.
Iron Bull pops up when it's more official the protagonist will be part of the Inquisition and that the Inquisition is making new waves.
Blackwall will join along when the Inquisition truly starts becoming a group that strives to help the world.
Vivienne will be there when as the Inquisitor you start becoming more of an important figurehead and have to make yourself known to the elite.
Sera is difficult. You might either encounter her in trouble and thus she comes along as an easy way out or she happily applies at some point because it's safer/more fun that way. Not sure when this happens.

I suspect Sera will be found when we reach Val Royeaux. She is a city elf after all. I believe we'll get support from the chantry to back officially forming the Inquisition which will be why seekers like Cassandra and former templars like Cullen join up. I believe thats what the mission to have an audience with the chantry that we see in the demos is about. One of the art works sort of supports this showing what looks like the coronation of the inquisition.

In "The Enemy of Thedas" trailer which someone has already shown above, at about 1:20 Solas grabs the Inquisitor's hand to hold it up to a fade rift. The assumption can be drawn that this is him teaching us the Inquisitor how to use his fade hand powers so very early in the game. If he is not our first mage and one of the initial party members he will follow soon after.
It has been stated by the devs they don't want to make the mistake from previous games, like how on my first playthrough I had no idea how to release Sten and didn't even meet Leliana, therefore missing out on both. This time around it looks like instead of you having to find them, the companions mostly find you. From what I understand Cassandra brings Varric and Cullen into the fold and Leliana brings in her old friend, Josephine. Everyone else seems to have their own motivations and reasons for joining.

Cassandra, Varric and probably Leliana in the prologue. We didn't get Morrigan (first party mage) from the start in DAO either, so it will not be surprising. I don't know if Solas or Dorian will be the first mage we meet. Could be Cole and Bull even before that.
Looks like Vivienne, Sera and Blackwall will be recruited in Orlais, so they are not early companions. Sigh.

There has to be a red shirt or temporary companion at the start of the game. It's the law when it comes to Bioware games.
But what if the Red Shirt doesn't die this time?!?!

Dorian I don't think would hear about the Inquisition until its started to make a name for itself. Solas however, as has been said, is all about those fade rifts, so he'd seek out anyone connected to it.
My votes on Solas.

I'll have Cullen recruit them in the army and stick them on the front line. Got to respect tradition.

Yep, this alone makes me think Solas is going to appear really quickly, unless we meet him early on and he then leaves and turns up again later to be fully recruited. That would be unusual though

Viv will not be in the beginning party, she is supposed to be met later...remember the ball?
Cassandra (short hair, sword and shield) and Leliana (swishing chain and hood) silhouettes are in the trailer background Lead Them or Fall where the Inquisitor is being held prisoner.
We meet Varric afterwards when he warns us to be careful because it's raining demons.
We know that Solas joins early as he shows the inquisitor how to use their glowy hand.
So, Cass, Varris, Solas seem to be the most likely, with Leliana perhaps as a short term member until you pick up Solas?

They've said some companions can be missed out on if you don't explore enough, though. (Source , about 17:20 onwards) Do you happen to have source for that statement?

Cassandra, Varric, and Solas are going to be our first companions. I'm sure it'd be easy for Bioware to fool us but remember that Solas holds the Inquisitor's hand up to interact with the veil tear in that one trailer. That's probably one of the first things that happens after you walk out of the fade. Hell, Solas showing up and proving that the Inquisitor has some special power can be what saves him/her from the chopping block. In the customization video, we see Solas, Cassandra, and Varric fighting an Envy Demon at level 5. Gonna make an assumption here and guess that's just before or right after the prologue ends.
What I'm most interested in is whether Solas is already with the proto-inquisition as they were making their way to the summit or if he shows up around the same time they do because he also wants to investigate the blast.

I think we get Cassandra, Varric and Solas as first companions. I assume Solas will be the one to tell the Inquisitor of powers (due to the whole holding hands thing in the trailer). Also maybe when Varric says 'It,s raining demons out here' it is the first meeting with him.
Btw Vivienne will throw a party for Inquisitor if i remember correct so I think she will not be in the beginning of the game.

It'd be pretty funny if Viv was actually one of the last potential recruits. I mean, she's kind of an opportunist and she wouldn't just throw her weight behind a fledgling organization until she saw it knew its stuff.
