Yeah but that's on a monitor, TVs are 1080p, there's zero need for any console to do more than that.
If I had the choice between 1440p at a desk on a monitor, or 1080p on my couch and tv, I'd go for the latter.
I do have my PC hooked up to a 1080p TV as well in addition to the 1440p monitor, I personally always prefer sitting at the desk for the sole reason that I find the keyboard and mouse to be an infinity superior input device.
That being said, when I do play games on the TV, the difference between 1080p and 900p is incredibly hard to tell depending on distance to the screen.
